[APP] Zumocast (Updated 10/5/11) - Motorola Droid X2

Loving this on my Bionic. Got confirmation that it works on the x2. Not sure exactly how you want to install it, but someone said they pushed it to system apps - so if doing this, change the permissions.
Here is what you need on your computer:
http://www.zumocast.com/
Basically you can access your home PC from your phone. I use it to stream my music, but you can access anything that is on your PC.
Enjoy!
****Might only work on 2.3.4 (Atrix ROM) ((Unconfirmed))
DISCLAIMER: If you break your phone, don't blame me. I'm not responsible for anything.
****DURPPP!!!! ----- I was not aware this was in the market. Not sure if it'll work for "unsupported" devices, so I'll leave this thread up until I get confirmation.
UPDATE: Now with current Bionic update - com.motorola-zumocast-1.apk
<<<<EDIT: Changed .apk to D3 version, as reports claim it works better (or just plain works!) for the X2.

Maybe its just me being a newb or something but I can't get it to install or run right. If I just install the .apk the program tells me my device is unsupported. So I pushed the .apk to /system/app directory and I'm not seeing the app in my app drawer. Do I have to do something after I push the file?
Sent from my DROID X2 using XDA App

I pulled mine from the D3 dump. The not sure if it matters. I installed it first with the apk and found it in data/Apps and it worked. I did have to reboot to see it. After I found it, I used TB Market doctor to fix market link. It's been a while since I installed it. However both ways worked. Just needed a reboot. I can't post links but you can find a dump under D3 forum or google it.

Using a file explorer (such as root explorer) Push the app into data/app, select "Permissions" and change to so:
XXo
Xoo
Xoo

I Just uninstalled it and reinstalled it no problems. It actually showed up in system/Apps & data/Apps.

Might have to be 2.3.4, I have been running Atrix since it came out, about the same time I installed this first. Might be the issue. With this Atrix rom I can use apks from D3 & data Bionic fairly easily, not all but most.

I agree man, I'm absolutely loving it. Hopefully we can get it working for everyone....
Thanks for the help!

More than music? good to hear, i'll be checking it out.
had previously used Audio Galaxy for music, worked extremely well.

The app worked great the first time I loaded it. Closed it reloaded it and now it hangs at the loading file screen. So I deleted the file in /data/app and repushed the .apk there and its still doing it.

Did you push it or just install it!
Clearing cache in recovery sometimes helps.
Still thinking it would work better on 2.3.4. I've never had any issues other than update.

I pushed it back. I was thinking the cache clear might help. Ill give that a shot.
Edit: Cache clear worked. Back up and running. Thanks.

thanks mistawolfe for the input and the d3 apk. i had been trying the bionic apk and could not get it to work on my x2. the new one you posted worked like a charm. cheers

Thanks man! Been wanting this for a while.
Has anyone else tried this on Eclipse yet?
If so what version?
I'm using v.0.1 (havent upgraded yet untill the account force close is fixed)
Should this work with v.0.1?
Bah.... I just installed it.
Works great so far! Couple questions though.
How do I get the KB pictured in the top post? My KB is still the standard. I looked under settings/language & KB and all I have is Multi-touch and swype..... tried them both.
Another thing.... love the status bar tweaks.... is there anyway to change the alarm clock icon so its green like the others?
Its so nice that I dont have to hide my status bar because of the ugly miss matched color scheme...... Thanks a million man
For the keyboard, I haven't put it in the op yet but you can get it from my other posts, and it'll work. And for the alarm icon I believe I can , and thanks for pointing it out.
Glad you're enjoying my theme

Installed the KB from the other thread, works great. I just didn't realize what it was. Thought it was just a themed KB.
How hard would it be to theme just the standard multi-touch KB?
Are you doing all this from the UOT Kitchen and then using ur own script?
I posted this in your other thread by accident. I checked the download and it says funkeneclipse so I know I'm on this version of your theme. Its great! A little light, no change in icons on settings page, menus, but what is themed is well done. I'm not the biggest fan of green, and if you did more it may be too much.
I had one reboot about 5 minutes after install but nothing since. I had this prior to the theme so its more an eclipse thing I'm sure.

And no this is all with various tools for decompiling/compiling .9 pngs, smali, and xml, gimp for image editing and other programs for odds and ends.

I doubt it will work on anything except the Razr... MAYBE the Bionic
Doesn't work on rooted bionic either, confirmed.
There is probably some other files needed other than just the apk.
probably because it needs more than just the apk to work, Ill look through my razr and see if there is anything you need
Would love to get this app on my Galaxy Nexus when I get one!
Anyone currently working to port this app still?
Honestly... i have the razr and obviously it came with smart actions.... if you are really wanting to make your phone a Smart Phone... get Tasker.... way more sophisticated and a thousand times more customizable than smart actions... although it will take a bit to get use to.... but the sky and your imagination is the limit to what you can do with tasker.... Good luck
Smart Actions likely has libraries associated with it. if not also integrated with framework
Smart Action App Bug
I use smart action app to change my wallpaper when i go home, and everytime I revert to my original wallpaper, it is degraded. Each time it gets worse. Not sure if this happens with launchers other than Go Launcher. I'll post 3 screen shots. Original Wallpaper, one after 5 smart action app changes, and one after 10 smart action app changes. File size also jumps significantly.

it won't let me link to it since I'm new but you can just Google "DroidRazrRoot Free Wifi Tether" and it's the first result.

wi-fi tether
I would like to add Foxfi to the list of apps in this thread. It is extremely easy to use and I haven't found any problems with it so far. I've used plenty of different apps in the past and so far, this one has been my favorite.
I used WiFi Tether until I upgraded to .211. Now I did the SQLLite hack and it works great.
i tried fox and open garden, both was giving errors on my moms tablet.....
i tried barnacle but it was giving errors on the razr
i went with wifi tether its so smooth and silky with it.

RAZR MAXX and titanium backup

RAZR MAXX Rooted and I am running titanium backup. Noticed even though I have an app froze it still updates in the market.
I thought that freezing the app would make it invisible to the market?
What am I missing...
there's settings in Titanium backup for that.
I have always had that checked on "Remove Market entry"
Example:
I have gmail froze and even rebooting the razr they still show up in the play store for updates???
What gives...
Where there used to be a file on the phone with the list of apps installed that the market used to know what may or may not need updating, the latest market update stores a list of apps on its own server now. So the list that titanium modifies no longer works. The only way to get the updates off the update list is to uninstall the app.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I'm not sure if this option is available on GB (been on ICS for too long) but just use the stock features to remove them. I've uninstalled or disabled all "bloat" from my phone from the stock settings which also removed the market links and they no longer attempt to update. This is probably less likely to affect OTA's.

Backup Assistant and Zumo are the only two I can't disable. No other "bloat" runs. Using an autokiller is bad. The apps will continue to open and close and drain your battery even worse than just letting them run.
I checked the market and it shows the bloat is installed and COULD be updated but they don't pop up requesting updates.

Although ICS allows deleting bloatware how can it be confirmed that deleting the bloat will not mess up OTA updates right now, since theoretically all the Razrs should be on GB.
Just curious..

That's not confirmed. I'm on the first ICS leak so I can sbf back to GB, then OTA. Which I'll have to do since I've deodexed my phone and installed the 1% battery mod. But I'm sure the OTA will be posted on XDA before it ever finds my phone. So I'll probably install it manually which is what I assume everyone else on the leaks will be doing.
There is a small chance that an OTA will pop up since the system # should be higher than those of the leaks. In that case the OTA SHOULD install on a leak with disabled system apps since no system apps have been removed or altered, just disabled in factory settings.

So ICS gives you the option to remove just about any app (as long as it is not crucial to to OS)?

I don't think that is true. I have removed gmail completely and google play (Market) still works great...
I use K9 Mail and love it. I hate Gmail and Yahoo mail apps.
I tried using Root Explorer and renamed a few apps with ._bak and that seemed to work so far...

I think you are right. I used to remove it from my other phones without issue.
