Hopefully this is in the right place, but I cannot put it in a specific area since I am new to the forums. THANKS ALL!
HELP…
I need to enter my MSL to “fix” the SiriusXM app (or other streaming apps). Before I was able to use the instructions below. With this new rom (I am thinking any 2.3, but I am running Fresh EVO 2.3.3) , it takes the code, but nothing comes up. Does anyone have a work around???
1) Dial ##3282#
2) Choose Edit Mode
3) Enter MSL
4) Choose Advanced
5) Change HTTP PD Proxy Port to: 0 (old 8085)
6) Change HTTP PD Proxy Address to: 0.0.0.0 (old pd.vog.sprintpcs.com)
Same problem here. I've been looking for an alternate, but I haven't seen anything yet. Any one had any success getting into the MSL menu with 2.3???
Reading Msl
I saw the method for reading msl code via cdma workshop but the pics showed cdma ws 3.5 and i have 2.7 will that proccess still work
u can get the msl from programs like dfs tools cdma workshop and qpst as well as msl reader from the market but i always find it easier calling your carrier and telling them you want to do a data restore or something like that.
as for it not recognizing the ##codes the person who made the rom couldve taken the epst apk in order to save room.
Ok, I opened chat to sprint support and asked for msl code. They told me that my device doesn't have MSL but then gave me what they called a 6 digit security code to reprgram my phone. Is this security code the MSL and they just didn't want to tell me.

yea thats probably it.
also, for anyone stuck in a 2.3 rom, try these codes
*#*#3282#*#* Data Restore
*#*#786#*#* Reverse Logistics Support (device wipe)
*#*#(your msl)#*#* reprogram phone # and msid
these are the codes we use at my store for the nexus s 4g. hope it helps
I have an issue. I have my msl and enter it. Using getprop (ril.MSL 123456) then use *#*#3282#*#* enter the msl. Always get invalid code. Using the number given to me by getprop.
Would being unrooted cause this?

Now it doesn't say invalid anymore after reboot. Now it just exits back out to menu to select what data setting I want to edit. I select wimax and it asks for msl again.type it back out to the menu I go.
Any suggestions?

I hope this is the correct forum, if not I apologize. I have a Samsung Showcase from a small area provider. I have been playing around with it and had one question. It seems any directions I find to get into Service Mode (so you can program the phone) do not work. I followed the following:
To access the hidden menus from the dialer:
• Open the dialer and enter *#83786633 then press the Home key
• Open the dialer again (clear previously entry if it is still present) enter *#22745927
• Enter the SPC 000000 then enable Hidden Menu
After this you in theory can dial **772 to access the programming menu, however **772 does nothing when dialed. The phone is pretty much stock right now save for it is rooted. Anyone have any ideas how else you can access programming menus or what I might be doing wrong? I tried to disable the hidden menu -> reboot -> enable hidden menu -> reboot and that didn't seem to have any affect either. Thanks much for any help you can provide.
Well I guess I should have searched for Samsung Showcase for this, I believe I found the options I am looking for. If anyone else runs into this the following worked for me.
MIN Programming
Bring up the Dialer
Dial ##626#
Data Programming
Bring up the Dialer
Dial ##3282#
I did this on a pretty much stock phone (save for being rooted). I can't say whether this would work in a custom ROM or not. The information was pulled from the following post on cdmahosting.com so thanks to DYNET:
http://cdmahosting.com/showthread.php?p=118
so I am having APN issues after upgrading from 2.6.3 to 4.1.2 rooted. no data or mms, phone and txt works great. same provider.
galaxy s2 sch-r760 generic cdma, ACS provider here in alaska. apparently goes through gci?
now this is going to be a book, so grab a tasty beverage.
when i add the APN the mnc and mmc are not correct.
when i change them it discards the APN
i have no sim.
this thread did not help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715788
if i dont change those, it seems to communicate with my network as it fills in the mmsc field. but i get no internet.
if i enable then disable airplane mode it shows the 3g emblem, then it disappears.
I have all the correct APN info from my provider.
I have tried every way of changing the APN-conf.xml file but nothng has worked.
my thinking is that i need to change the default mnc and mmc that appear when i go to add the apn, to the correct values and then i will be able to save it.
however i cannot find that field in the systems. if someone know a trick i havent found in the last week of researching, please help.
could my phone be locked? if so how would i go about unlocking? could upgrading my software have changed my cdma settings??
i am fairly new to messing with android but i have some linux experience and am a quick learner.
Also if there is a custom rom or kernal or binary or what ever the operating system is called that might fix this issue and work on my device please let me know.
if someone does help i will pay a reward to them via pay pal, it wont be much but hey its better than nothing.
I'm trying to get around the sprint proxies and I have been able to change my RSTP address and port but cannot find the HTTPD settings in ##3282# to change those. I can see that it is installed to system/xbin but cannot view or edit. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am rooted with busybox installed and I have my msl/spc
Do you think sprint did away with the setting or found another way to throttle?
Dial ##3282#, edit, put msl code and then choose multimedia.
Only the rtsp settings are in there. That's the problem I've been having.
I am looking for a way to update Network data profiles on Samsung Galaxy S7 and other Samsung devices. I know this can be done by dialing ##DATA# on the phone and entering the MSL to Edit the profile.
But I am looking for this to be done via a script or app to make these changes easier to pull off for users. Any help will be greatly appreciated and if you know for a fact this is not possible please also let me know.
