Sorry if this has all ready been talked about, but is there a case with a built in keyboard? I am planning on using this for school while tethering from my droid
if there is not a case with a built in keyboard what is your best suggestions for screen protectors or hard cases?
I was just thinking the same thing, I see alot of cheap ones on ebay, but the dimensions are set to to fit an ipad(7.5"x9.8"), but the gtab is 6.8"x10.5", I dont want part of the screen cut off, or part of the tablet hanging out of the case.

It's a wired keyboard, but that's fine with me, keeps me from having to worry about recharging my keyboard battery on top of the tablet battery.

I need some opinions guys from those who have the keyboard cases and those who have just a standard case which angles.
Can you use the usb keyboard case comfortably with the keyboard folded all the way under the tablet?
( meaning if i just want to hold the device with 1 or 2 hands while watching tv is it comfortable?)
How often do those with the keyboard actually find themselves using the keyboard?
Is the virtual keyboard just as accurate with auto spell correct?

1.) The case feels bulky in your hand if you fold it back to read something on the tablet while holding it especially with one hand. I found it really uncomfortable to leave it in the case for use when not typing on the keyboard.
2.) I used it often when I first bought the case then got another keyboard and case as this case really looks and feels cheap and I work with professionals so it really stuck out like a sore thumb in meetings.
3.) The "virtual keyboard" if you mean the keyboard that comes up on your tablet then I would say your question doesn't apply since the case keyboard doesn't make any spelling corrections (at least mine didn't) whereas the virtual keyboard(s) do offer corrections and suggestions for word completion.
Your question #2 which is really question 4.) If you want to use this case with keyboard then I would strongly recommend getting a screen protector as this keyboard isn't soft silicone but rather it's hard plastic. And since the gTab won't be snug in this case but will move quite a bit around the screen can get some rubbing damage if you keep it in the case a lot. Some people have suggested you use a soft rag and lay it on top of the keyboard when you close the case and also to use velcro or double-stick tape to secure the gTab to the case better.
In the end, I would just recommend you NOT buy this case since I just sold mine off on eBay. For the price it's not bad but once you start using it you will quickly find things to complain about it.
Fellow user it2Steve here on the gTab forums have several nice cases and soon one with a built-in bluetooth keyboard available for sale. Check out his threads and read his reviews. Hopefully you find what you're looking for.

I have one too, quick fix is I had a usb mouse pad firm with lights and many usb plugs and I sit the case on that which is a nice flat surface and plug the mouse pad into that. I am using it now to type.

I have a similar one, but in the end I found that I didn't really an exterior keyboard as much as I thought I did.

I am waiting for these to come in. Although in the images the case looks a little "cheap". I can't tell what the material is made out of.
So there are a couple cases out there with integrated (or designed around) small form factor keyboards (i.e. electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=21). Who out there owns a case like this, and what are your thoughts? I'm open to either bluetooth or USB, I just want some first hand responses from those that currently own one.

Had a case with usb keyboard. Used it for a while for lengthy typing sessions but the keyboard was too small for me to use for long periods without my hands getting really tired. Plus, that case was made with really cheap shiny plastic so it looked awful. In the end I bought a mini keyboard that was slightly bigger than the one in the case that also had a multi-touch touchpad on it.
I haven't used the BluTo but I would assume I would have the same complaint about the size of the keyboard being too small for my man-hands. But from reading it2Steve's review on the BluTo the build quality sounds much better than the usb one I've owned.

I have a CLIP case so it acts as the stand. And I use the mini-usb keyboard from Gear Head with the multi-touch touchpad. I only gripe about this keyboard is that it doesn't have a right-shift key but I noticed that a lot of mini-keyboards don't have it either.

I am using the Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 6000. Works great on the Vegan Gingerbread Rom. Mouse is a little frustrating, but that is what a finger is for.
I think I have the same keyboard case that was mentioned before. I'd link to it but I'm new but just do a search on ebay for gtablet keyboard. I think it's pretty good for how much it cost ($26 as of this writing) when you're doing heavy typing and the fact you dont have to lug around another piece of hardware separate from the tablet around. I also have the clip case too which is great when you want to travel light.
I'm using the case with USB keyboard found on Amazon. I was interested in the BlutO but got tired of waiting for them to be in stock, and then finding them sold out each time. Very frustrating.
I haven't used it too much yet, but so far it's great for my uses, as well as being less than half the price of the BlutO. It's small enough that the G Tab and case fit in a carrying bag made for 10" Netbooks.
A lot of the reviews on Amazon fussed about the white stitching, which I agree looks tacky. I solved that with a Sharpie marker.

all in all, with the built in kick stand, which is perfect for keeping an awesome viewing angle, its a great buy. Shipping is slow. but worth the wait.
I am going to test out, not bringing my netbook with me, just the gtab with this case alone... i am tempted to get a USB hub, so i can bring a wireless mouse though...
Active Keys with the new OTA update?
I got one of the USD keyboards from XiLi the China link. It took just under a month to arrive but fits well. I have the latest OTA update on the Gtab and find the E key opens my email and the g key opens my browser when I have Color Notes open.
Do I need a translator of some kind to recognize the inputs? New update claims to make the Gtab open to USB keyboards. Kind of strange.
I would love to get a case like the one on Amazon that included a Bluetooth keyboard instead of a USB one. It seems like a shame to tie up a USB port and worry about a cable to it that might protrude. Since the gTablet supports Bluetooth, it seems like that would be a better solution. Does anyone know of a case with bluetooth keyboard that is the same size as the gTablet?

Last time I paired a keyboard you just pick a code and type it in followed by the enter key (enter it first on the android side). This was with CM7 and an older Microsoft bluetoooth keyboard.
I would be interested in stuff like this too.

Search some "capacitive stylus" on google, i think you'll find (i don't know a precise one if it was your question)

for the 28, 32, and 43, which use resistive touch screens, anything will work. i personally have nice results on my 32 using a nintendo DS stylus. they're also cheap, so you don't have to worry about losing them occasionally.
for a 70 or 101, you'd want a capacitive stylus as the above posters suggested.

I like the DIY pen. I'm gonna start cutting up some old antistatic bags and see how it works. I have a couple pens, and neither can do dots. It will draw a line, but just pressing to the screen without moving doesn't draw a dot. As soon as it stops moving, it stops inputting. Horrible for Angry Birds, because it lets the bird go as soon as you pull back the sling and start aiming.
I think the A43 digitizer is plastic (which is bad, from the point of view of recognition--glass produces better accuracy), and what's worse, a softer plastic than any of the PalmOS devices I've used. I tried my Clie stylus, and it scratched the screen. I searched for a soft stylus among all the stylus-based devices we have at home, and finally I started using the spare stylus from my wife's HTC TouchPro2. The tip is nice and pointy, but also soft enough not to scratch the screen (or at least not much?). You can probably buy OEM ones somewhere online.
I wish I had a good way of attaching it to the device. Currently, I use the leather sleeve case, and I just tuck the stylus in--it's thin enough that it fits.

Can't say for the A43, but the A101 has a ton of space inside to make a stylus hole.
I ordered one of these off of B&H Photo's website as I really found the Zagg case to be substandard. Although there is a Samsung logo in the picture, I was VERY surprised to find this is an official Samsung product. Full Samsung packaging, logos on the device and the cover feels exactly like the faux leather on the back of our tablet. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...g_ee_cp905ubeguj_keyboard_case_cover_for.html
Much better feel as far as sturdiness compared to the Zagg cover. Still isn't quite up on par with Logitech's case as far as the keyboard's feel, but the case is so much thinner than the Logitech, it is not possible to compare them directly. For those who keep the onscreen keyboard always enabled, there is also a button on the bottom next to alt which will open / close the onscreen keyboard.
Interesting thing is, I don't see this keyboard anywhere on Samsun USA's site, but it is all over the place on German shopping sites. There is also a back piece to the keyboard stand (you can see it on the original link) which holds up / props up the tablet so the weight of the tablet isn't being held up by the screen edge as it is on the Zagg (or even the Logitech for that matter).
Edit: Cut / Paste etc are handled by the standard ctrl-c, ctrl-v ctrl-x
It's a shame no cut, paste, copy. I think one of the other keyboards for the NP 12, maybe Logitech's, has those keys included on the lower left as I recall. It's really hard to find the perfect all - inclusive keyboard for the np 12 and the note10.1 2014, which i also have. Right now i'm using a not so bad bluetooth keyboard that I picked up on amazon for around $15 that does a lot of tab commands and using it with a bluetooth mouse. But I'm waiting to jump on THE DREAM keyboard when someone produces it. I use hancom word for writing. So a keyboard with great tactile feel and lots of tablet specific keys are important to me. Not sure if the samsung keyboard from b&h sounds like it fits the bill.

On the lower left of any keyboard you have control c, v, and a. That is how you copy and paste on a desktop. Why would they make extra keys for a funtion that is already handled very fliudly and naturally for anyone used to a desktop system (those more likely to want a keyboard). I understand you want those extra keys but it is unlikely for anyone to offer them to you.....and for the price difference I would take this instead. Might switch it out with my smart cover....

There is no "copy" "cut" "all" or "paste" written on a standard keyboard either. I can't imagine anyone in this forum doesn't know ctrl-c = copy.
Me, I'd rather have the s-finder / multiwindow / keyboard swap keys than waste a second set of keys to an already programmed function.

Logitech's (I currently have the Zagg (going back), Logitech and Sammy case) has pictures over the x c and v keys showing scissors and two ever so slightly different pairs of pages to show paste and copy functions and they work with ctrl and fn keys. No extra keys in use.
So to whoever has this do you think it was worth the purchase? I was looking at an smouse at best buy yesterday. Wondering how if you coupd use both on it at the same time on 2ghz without it jumping all over thebplacethe place. My experience has been that my touchpad mouse and keyboard I have now work on 5ghz wifi but with 2ghz on they jump all over the place.

I can't answer about the S-Mouse, but I have no issues with the keyboard and my logitech mouse. I do seldom use a mouse though since the screen is touch.
To be honest, I have all 3 cases with the Zagg sitting in the Best Buy bag waiting to be returned. To me, none of the three are ideal. The Zagg is FAR behind the others though, it feels cheap. The Logitech and the Samsung cases both have advantages and disadvantages. The logitech is an actual folio case, albeit one which is not a very practical case. There is a LOT of give to the case when closed, and when open and folded over in the hands, it can slide all over the place. My one negative with the Samsung case is that the Note Pro can note be placed into the keyboard case screen up, so when using the Note Pro you are just holding the note pro. I have discovered creaky areas on the back plastic I never noticed when using it in a case and it just doesn't quite sit right with me. It can however be used with some folio cases (specifically the ones where the case folds away from the bottom to sit in slots like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Moko-Samsung-...1396810849&sr=8-8&keywords=note+pro+12.2+moko
Both keyboards themselves are very good, with a slight nod to the Logitech for feeling the most natural feeling. The Logitech feels like one is using a laptop when you are using it as a keyboard, when using it as a folio, it feels huge compared to the Samsung.
I suspect I will keep both. The Logitech case will be used at home when I don't want to use my desktop (which I find myself using far less since getting the Note Pro), the samsung will travel with me and the above Moku case.
I've owned far more Android tablets than I care to remember (Flyer, ASUS TF300, TF700, Note 10.1 2012, Note 10.1 2014 and the Note Pro), and I must say this is the first tablet / keyboard combo I have been comfortable using. The ASUS keyboards were a joke with their chicklet keys, and I never did find a great case for the new 10.1.

No not even close. I ordered one just like this through Amazon and it is already traveling back to them. The keys are very tiny, it is actually the exact same keyboard as on the 10.1 inch cheap cases, just in a larger case. The keys are almost unusable.
The Samsung keyboard is almost exactly like the Zagg case. Just built more solid, and the Samsung version doesn't use the screen's glass to prop the tablet up. From a "what's best for the tablet" viewpoint, there is no doubt the Samsung keyboard is by far the best of the three "major" brand keyboards. The weight of the tablet is held up by a plastic flap on the back of the keyboard, the tablet itself just sits in the keyboards well (cutout at the bottom). Both the Zagg and the Logitech use the screen's glass to prop up the tablet.

The Logitech and the Samsung cases both have advantages and disadvantages. The logitech is an actual folio case, albeit one which is not a very practical case. There is a LOT of give to the case when closed, and when open and folded over in the hands, it can slide all over the place. My one negative with the Samsung case is that the Note Pro can note be placed into the keyboard case screen up, so when using the Note Pro you are just holding the note pro. I have discovered creaky areas on the back plastic I never noticed when using it in a case and it just doesn't quite sit right with me. Both keyboards themselves are very good, with a slight nod to the Logitech for feeling the most natural feeling. The Logitech feels like one is using a laptop when you are using it as a keyboard, when using it as a folio, it feels huge compared to the Samsung.
I suspect I will keep both. The Logitech case will be used at home when I don't want to use my desktop (which I find myself using far less since getting the Note Pro), the samsung will travel with me and the above Moku case.
I've owned far more Android tablets than I care to remember (Flyer, ASUS TF300, TF700, Note 10.1 2012, Note 10.1 2014 and the Note Pro), and I must say this is the first tablet / keyboard combo I have been comfortable using. The ASUS keyboards were a joke with their chicklet keys, and I never did find a great case for the new 10.1.

Well, there are a number of cases which use the open bottom (nothing touches the bottom of the Note when open) design so all of those work great with the keyboard case, as does the Samsung book cover. But yes, I too was quite disappointed that you cannot flip the Note over in the case and just use it like a tablet. Seems like a natural thing to expect and yet neither the Samsung nor the Zagg allow for this.
Who does product testing for these companies? Do they actually try to use their product as people in the real world would?
Edit: They could also have designed this so that the keyboard could snap on to a Note Pro wearing the official Samsung book cover. Heck, that would allow them to sell two items at once.

It would be pretty great if it would snap into the keyboard cover with the book cover on. I like the book cover but recently noticed the screen off issue alot and had to start holding it opposite of how I was. Thinking that once I get the mime screen protector I might ditch the book cover and use something like this

Yes it can. I didn't think it would, but it seems to do the job nicely.
I've finally decided to go with A logitech free standing bluetooth keyboard, the model made for android 3.0+. I don't feel that the keyboard - case combos like the zagg and the logitech are sturdy enough, and are waaay overpriced. Plus, I really prefer my moko case. If I really need to travel with my note pro, it still has to go in a carry case and the external keyboard adds very little more weight. Best buy matched the amazon price of $35.00. Plus, the keyboard does have tablet - specific keys. It's a good combination with the NP12. And the keyboard has good tactile feel.

I'm looking into getting a keyboard for my Note 12.2. I currently have the Samsung book cover and it does what it says and works fine. However I can't decide between a keyboard case or a separate keyboard. My requirements are possibly too much to ask from one device though as most nights I watch stuff on it in bed (not that sort of stuff ) and need to be able to hold it comfortably with the cover behind the tablet.
The one thing I don't like about the book cover is the way it stands up. It's very unstable and to be honest, not suitable to use with a separate keyboard. So if I went with a separate one, I'd need to get a cover/case that supported the tablet much better in landscape orientation standing up.
The keyboard case I was looking at was the Logitech Pro Case. Seems nice but how does it feel when the keyboard is behind so you can hold the tablet? Does it add much weight also?
Any ideas or photos of your set up would be greatly appreciated

I got the Wedge keyboard, and I bet Amazon has plenty of those used. I wished I waited to get mine from Amazon instead of buying it at full price at Staples. Great build quality, never once failed when using it for either my mac or tablet, and has portability. But any bluetooth keyboard pretty much does the same thing, though it depends on what you want.
If you want portability, get the Wedge Keyboard.
But if you want a bigger keyboard, I bet there are plenty. I've never heard of a keyboard case like the surface covers, but those would be a cool thing.
I have the Logitech cover with keyboard. It is very well designed and pretty comfortable. Its only disadvantage is weight - it weights about the same as the tablet itself.

I prefer a separate bluetooth keyboard. So I've got a Logitech K810. It's exactly the same width as the tablet, so they fit together nicely in a sleeve. Excellent build quality, battery lasts for months and the keys are very responsive (as expected from Logitech's high-end line. It is 100 quid, after all.)
I also prefer a separate keyboard, picked up a used Belkin fsl114 (10 inch wide) for almost nothing that is outstanding. Believe it was in an Ipad case. We use extensively on another tablet and lasts quite a long while. Not quite full sized, about 3/4 size.

I got RAPOO E6700 and with Xposed Additions I'm more than happy with it.
In mobile situations I use Microsoft Sculpt Keyboard, in the Office I use the full size Speedlink Athera Bluetooth Keyboard.

Is there any way to remove the magnets from the Logitech case? Or does anyone know of a keyboard case without magnets?
I really don't want anything to mess up the S-pen functionality and really don't like magnets in general when it comes to proximity to electronics.
The magnets in the Logitech case does not affect the S-pen functionality. Magnets do not affect electronics unless you use a really powerful magnet like the ones used in lifting cars in a junk yard.
However, normal magnets may affect floppy disks by erasing the magnetic part of the disk but who uses those anymore?
Most good speakers have a powerful electromagnet in them and you don't ever hear of those causing any issues with electronic stuff. In my office those speakers are within inches of my laptop and never any issues.

It's not about electronics. The Spen sensor itself is magnetic. Introducing another magnet into the magnetic field of the Spen disrupts the field.
Maybe, but the magnet in the Logitech keyboard does not affect my Spen in my Note Pro 12.2. Is it affecting yours?

Logitech has put a bit of protective material between the tablet and the case in their Note cases. The issue affected all Spen devices.
Cheaper cases, however, don't have that addition.
So annoying that the best keyboard case out there has these. It's a well known fact that magnets disrupt SPen. A clasp would have been fine. Which is why I bought the Speck Folio. And I'm probably going to buy a standalone K810 keyboard. Even if it's way less compact.
Really satisfied with my Logitech keyboard/case combo, the ability to switch layouts (I'm using canadian french) makes it perfect for the job. I'm also using a bluetooth mouse to get the most of it. Add a USB OTG dongle and you get pretty everything you need for a laptop replacement.
The only setback, like the others said, there's no magnet to shutdown the screen when closing the case.
I bought it on ebay for about 60$ which is well worth it.
I had a device with Wacom pen (it was an e-book reader) with cover that had a magnet in it - what it did is it destroyed the pen. The screen still works with another Wacom pen, but the pen that I had with the device is broken and draws only on parts of the screen. So now I avoid any covers with magnets.
I have had the Logitech since I bought the tablet 7 months ago and no problems at all.

Been using my logi keyboard for 9 months myself, no magnetic dividing by zero so far...
...turns out logitech isn't some one off company that just throws **** together all willy nilly...
