[Q] a lot of issues and crashes out of nowhere? - HTC EVO 3D

hey guys.
I decided I wanted to try going without sense. Installed golauncher ex and set it up. installed widgetlocker and set it up. everything was working fine.
I made a nandroid backup.
I flashed smoking1337's DeSensify script. all my widgets were gone but everything seemed to be working fine. I reinstalled all my widgets...and they started acting weird. when I would press and hold on one, and drag it, it would create a second copy...I deleted all the double copies, rebooted the phone, all the widgets were gone.
I set them up again. today in the morning, I noticed K9 was constantly trying to check email, and then started getting FCs on all the google apps...then superuser crashed.
I figured something went wrong with the script. went into recovery, wiped everything, restored nandroid.
rebooted the phone. seemed fine. then it started again. k9 constantly checking, none of my desktop visualizer widgets would work, even though they were to app organizer shortcuts and those worked going through the app drawer.
then superuser crashed again.
considering i've already wiped and nandroid'd back to before I flashed the script, what could be causing this issue?
i'm downloading the latest SteelROM to copy superuser from it and push it to my phone...but i'm concerned as to what caused this?
thanks.

[Q] com.motorola.contacts has stopped unexpectedly - no fixes have helped!

I have an Atrix 2 (MB865), Android version 2.3.6 and I'm having this terrible problem, searched for answers, tried many things, and still no solution. I need ideas, please!
So, any time I go into one of my phone's contacts, I get the error:
"The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force close]"
It's completely stopped working!
I did some internet searching, and what comes up most often is people having frozen some application (usually Yahoo Mail). I haven't frozen anything since long before it worked fine, and then, all I have frozen is Easy Battery because I want to try GreenPower without uninstalling. Anyway, unfroze them, but still no good.
Speaking of uninstalling, the only thing I have uninstalled recently is GreenPower Free after I bought the full version.
More internet searching led me to an answer that seems to help most people: replacing the files in /system/app:
blur_yahoo.apk
blur_yahoo.odex
YahooContacts.apk
YahooContacts.odex
Mine weren't missing, but I went ahead and got the Linux 2.3.6 versions of those files, copied them over, changed the permissions to 644 and the owner/group to root, power booted (battery out), and no good.
Another suggestion was renaming the two BlurContactsSync files to *.bak. Did that, then reboot... no change.
Then I saw something where someone mentioned LinkedIn app asking about syncing, and I recalled I installed LinkedIn and told it not to sync contacts yesterday. So I un- and reinstalled. LinkedIn and allowed it to sync contacts. But when I went in to my contacts... still crashing.
The last thing I did was a complete restore of all apps and data with Titanium from a backup back when I know contacts was working. Reboot. No fix.
I'm now at a complete loss. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Liam

Disappearing Apps After Reboot

Anyone else run into this? I've noticed with both the XDA app and NBA Jam, if I have run them recently and go to reboot, the apps disappear once I'm up and running again. Shortcuts still exist but trying to launch the program I get a message that the app isn't installed. Re-downloading and installing fixes it, no user data is lost.
When rebooting I get a dialog like the attached image shows. Stock, not rooted, running Apex launcher. Never ran into this with my OG EVO. Any suggestions?
No Suggestions. Same problem. I'm rooted and have TB backups of everything so I just search "uninstalled" and restore but it's a real pain.

weird problem with Titanium Backup

This is very weird and I do not understand what is going on.
I have the paid version of TIBU.
This is my 1st time when I use it on this phone.
After I did an initial backup of all the apps I realized that every time I restart they are installed back.
I have no idea who does it.
When I did the initial setup wizard I enabled keep my phone backed up with google but I always did with all my androids and never happened so uninstalled apps were reinstalled back.
It drives me nuts.
Any idea?
I'm running UKB 1.3.0
I've got the answer here:

[Q] How to stop Gmail download "script" (Screenshot attached!)

Hello!
Screenshot attached. I was downloading a document from Gmail and the process seemed to be "stuck." Since then I've downloaded other docs, SMS, phone calls, MMS all works properly, but this notification is always there and will not go away
I have restarted the phone. Left the battery out for longer than 15 seconds. Stopped all processes in Settings>Apps>Running. Ended the Gmail app. Even bought a new SD card (which I had already planned to do) and transferred everything from the old one over to the new. Started up the phone and that process was still running. I don't know what is making this process still survive. Thanks!

try ''disable service'' from market may it helps
Force stop gmail.. It is bound to work!
Sent from my WT19i using xda premium
Hmmm...disconnect/disable any internet connection first...then remove gmail account from gmail app....reboot then re-add the gmail account...if problem still persist then just uninstall and re-install gmail app....
Process stopped. Yay!
Alright... here's what happened... oh my gosh, lol, as I'm *typing* this it popped back up. mihahn mentioned the Download Manager, so shat I did was freeze the Download Manager in Titanum Backup. The notification disappeared right away, and it's the only time its been gone in the past month. Then, unfroze Download Manager and started typing this post... and looked over at the phone and it popped up again. Yikes. Let's try some other things...
Settings>Apps>All> Download Manager>Force stop... removed the notification. Ok, it popped up again after 15 seconds.
Settings>Apps>All> Download Manager>Clear data... removed the notification. Waited.... 5 min and a reboot later the notification hasn't come back!
The answer... Settings>Apps>All> Download Manager>Clear data. Thanks everyone!

[Q] Problem with app. Why did restoring backup work when nothing else did?

Hi,
I had a weird problem with an app (The Times and The Sunday Times) on my Xperia Z2 Tablet yesterday. Although I managed to fix it eventually, I was wondering if anyone might be able to shed some light on what happened.
The tablet had been repaired under warranty. Before I sent it off, I did a full Titanium backup, unrooted, and reset to factory defaults. As part of the repair, Sony updated the firmware from 17.1.1.A.0.402 to 17.1.2.A.0.314 (17.1.2.A.0.314 was released whilst it was out for repair). Both firmwares are based on Android 4.4.2.
I reinstalled all my user apps (not system apps) by restoring a Titanium backup, after which the The Times and The Sunday Times app was working. I used it several times, then yesterday it froze when loading. Killing the app from the recents and opening it again didn't work; this time it wouldn't load (the icon on the Nova Launcher desktop glowed for a few seconds, then nothing happened).
I then tried the following, killing the app from the recents menu before each attempt:
Clearing the app's cache.
Clearing the app's data.
Uninstalling the app and reinstalling.
Uninstalling the app, searching the entire device for the app name using solid explorer (rooted), removing any left over files, and reinstalling the app.
Uninstalling the app, running SD maid, and reinstalling the app.
Rebooting the device.
Still no luck. each time, the app icon would glow when i tapped it, the app would appear in my recent apps list as a black rectangle, but no matter how long I left it (several hours at one point), it just wouldn't load.
In desperation, I restored the app's Titanium backup with data, and it (sort of) worked. The app loaded, and allowed me to log in again (as if I'd just done a fresh install, or restored the app without data).
The weird thing is that the app has not been updated since I made the backup, so the backup version is the same as the version on the Play Store.
Does anyone know why restoring the Titanium backup would work where the troubleshooting steps I took above didn't? Is it possible that the app's data got given some weird permissions at some point that only Titanium, running as root, could sort out?
Thank you in advance!
Looking at the logcat might offer some insights into why it was not launching.
An educated guess would be that TiBu restored/overwrote a file that the other apps/system did not find and wipe and the app itself corrupts a file when launching and only restoring a working one from your backup fixed it.
If you find out what file that is, SD Maid could be updated to cover that and if it's reproduceable, you could also write the dev of the app instruction how to reproduce the issue so he can fix it.
Of course there is always the option that the server/connection was bad and it hang because of that.
