Actually I have HTC HD2, and I used HD2 as a wi-fi router
The signal can be found in laptop, but it cannot be found in my HTC Flyer...
Does anybody know how to set this so I can use wi-fi signal from HD2?
thank you
Do a search. It's been covered. Short answer is it can't be done with stock ROM.

I did. . .
I set the settings manually, but cannot be found
Finally I got the answer from HTC.com
Our HTC Flyer doesn't support Ad-hoc connection
HTC Flyer has tech spec for wi-fi like this:
IEEE 802.11 b/g/n
maybe, there is no "a" stands for Ad-hoc

There are now two different ways to root the Flyer: the unofficial which also is a complete S-OFF and the one from HTC self. The last one didn't change the installed ROM and for the first solution, you have to check in the developer subforum on which version the custom ROMs are based.
And... I can't promise that it is working for you afterwards. I didn't have a HD2 but a Desire.

Do you mean if I want my Flyer been rooted, I used cooked/custom ROM?
Ahh... I see... Actually I have a little desire to rooted my flyer so that I can use it to make phone call...
But, i think it needed to install custom ROM, right?

Hi,
i have my new HTC EVO 3D since today and want to root it!
My hboot version is 1.49.0007 and not supported in revolutionary.exe !
Is there a way to root my phone or is it to "new" because my divice is not supported at the moment?
Thanks for answers!
Best regards
did you try and use it or stopped at reading the requirements?
Try to contact alpha rev and give them some confirmation that there's a new hboot in the wild. They haven't released their exploit so HTC almost definitely didn't patch it.
Could be a different GSM version of the HBOOT, seeing as he's not from the USA.
This is the same HBOOT version as the evo3d that was released in Canada last Friday. As far as I know its unrootable at the moment, I did try a couple methods all of which failed.
How can i contact alpha rev??

Confirm that you have a gsm evo3d and if you do I don't believe there is a solution for you yet.
The GSM Version of the 3D uses a different HBOOT which as you found out is unable to be made to S-OFF at the moment. I believe the Temp-Root methods still work though and you could use those.

What about the European Sensation aka GSM Sensation, can it be rooted or same issue as with Evo3D?

I'm sure HTCs unlocker will do it, question though is when.
Unfortunally, i have S-off and need to stepback to an official rom.
Why give it a day or two and there will be roms using any official version

Where are you guys getting this info from?
Football did post the RUU for HC in his Development thread, but you will lose S-OFF. He says it is the final version. I'm assuming if that's the case, it may be ready for OTA soon...?
I'm assuming that, if Honeycomb is officially released this week, it will be the same version that is in Football's RUU and in globatron's s-off HC. If that's the case, then rather than going with an OTA update or official RUU, I'll stick with the latest version from globatron's s-off method.
What was released is the same version as in my thread.
Hello,
I 've just saw the 3.2 update in my flyer update software. I have s-off revolutionary and I am wondering if I can flash it right in my flyer ? What will be happened ? Will I loose my s-off or sth worst?

Flash his ROM with confidence knowing it is the official OTA. Never take the OTA if you want to stay rooted. Too risky.

Follow the instructions in this thread to have s-off with Honeycomb. Running the OTA or RUU directly are not recommended if you want s-off.:

Brand new HTC View 4g is $240 from an ebay store:

Thanks both. I will go like globatron!!
Very sad we lose the hardware buttons (even smaller display) and phone call.
In OTA says we lose that buttons too.

honey bar works relatively well to gain back screen but you will have no buttons while in use and any menu bar in the middle of the screen becomes non useable because pressing their triggers honey bar

Just had this popup on my Facebook HTC Feed about 15 min ago:
Ready for some ‘sweet’ news? The GSM version of the HTC Flyer tablet, available in Europe, is beginning to receive updates to Honeycomb beginning today! Honeycomb brings a ton of improvements to Android on tablets, including the latest version of HTC Sense for Tablet with enhanced Internet browsing, Mail, Calendar and more all optimized for the 7" screen. Not to be outdone, the WiFi version of the HTC Flyer will receive its Honeycomb update soon, too! Stay tuned for more details.

The official OTA for Honeycomb on the WiFi only Flyer (US version) hasn't been released, and HTC has said it won't be until Q1, 2012. Not sure if that applies to other regions as well...

Wish they would just go straight to ics.
Then again considering how well 2.3.4 was optimized maybe I should just keep it...
It will be in the UK in 2012?

Yes. Wait until next year.
If you don't want to wait for OTA update, globatron has posted a method to s-off, root and upgrade to HC for the Flyer.
European model WIFI RUU for honeycomb: http://www.filefactory.com/file/c03...22U_3822.10.08.07_M_release_227869_signed.exe
I'll be updating the S-OFF method for WIFI models to use this as a base rather than the 3G version.
Anyone already S-OFF can safely run this to have a pure WIFI ROM, probably still UK English only for US people who care.
Ok, thanks for all your help. Happy New year

So this is the actual official release for the 16GB Wifi model due out in Q1 of 2012?
Edit: The final release to which HTC will be making no more alterations?
Got a "new" HTC flyer and it seems to be a dev device. It has an app called HTC ssd test tool, thinks it has 3g when it only has Wi-Fi, and no honey comb. Can I manually update to honeycomb for Wi-Fi only? Thanks in advance! I can post screenies later.

It should be fine of you have WiFi access. Otherwise I'd think it would be in HTC support on their website.

Yea but personally I have yet to find a nice custom ROM that doesn't slow the device down. My recommendation is stick with stock sense gingerbread as it is the fastest ROM out and most stable. And if you want, use the overclocked kernel to 1800 for an extra kick
It looks like there aren't any ROMs based on the T-Mobile formware on any of the forums. Are y'all getting the same data speeds on the international ROMs? Is there a tmobile radio to flash?
You should be able to flash any in the HTC One Forum. Our device is the M7 so you should have no issues. Only problems some people have been seeing is from ATT so far with roms that don't have the proper RIl files and this is believed to cause the radio to switch from E, H, and LTE chronically.

thanks, i wasnt sure if our device was M7 or not.
stupid question, but does flashing the roms on the international one forum **** up the radio?
Only if the ROM includes the radio. As far as I know, no one is including radios in their ROM's. I would personally hold off flashing any radio until we get a flashable zip, RUU, or other means to go back to the shipped radio. Some users are having issues with the WWE radio on Tmobile and ATT. Some may think it's just the rill files too.

Yah that's the one bummer about non T-Mobile ROMs. It's impossible to get WiFi calling working. Has to be a T-Mobile based ROM.

It's the same thing after you unlock the boot loader and have a custom recovery

I mean, the "you can sort of unlock the bootloader but you can't have S-OFF" is obnoxious but it isn't any easier to bring your phone--if anything, the limitations placed on operations done in recovery make it harder to actually brick your phone since the boot and recovery images are normally flashed in fastboot.
But yeah, Nexus phones are much kinder to tinkerers. News at 11.

Yeah, that's what I did too. Only mildly sad to give up wifi calling; I never go over on minutes anyway.
Can't wait until there's T-mo specific roms. I get absolutely crap reception in my apartment and NO reception at work, so i desperately need wifi calling.
What we need is a good all around android dev /Rom chef to dedicate there time to our branded HTC one.
I hope Roms aren't gonna be generic forever leaving us with partially set up Roms/ having to flash radios constantly and whatnot !Never knowing what's compatible and what's not .
If that's the case I foresee a lot of angry people and jtag sales in the future .
I'd give it a month or two before we have a few 2-4 dedicated tmo HTC one roms 100% ready to flash and go just for us only .
