[Q] Loose Dock Hinge? - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

So after sending back my B60 dock because of sdcard issues I got a new B80 dock from Best Buy. My only issue with this one so far is that the tablet seems to have a bit of wiggle while inside the dock. There's about 2mm of extra space inside the docking connector with the tablet. It wouldn't be anything to worry about except 2mm of extra space in the dock means about an inch and half of "wiggle" at the top of the tablet. I don't remember my B60 acting the same way, but then again I was too worried about the sdcard slot. I have a B40 TF101 that I'm using with the dock so I don't know if the difference in when they were made has something to do with it.
Does anyone else have the same issue? Is this common or do I need to take my dock back? Use the poll above or leave a reply below. Thanks for the help.

I have a B70 TF And Dock and I have the same prblm. Its about 2 mm extra space and it was like this from the day 1

I had a B60 dock with B60 TF, wiggled and after 1 night in one of those laptop bags, TF was pretty much free from the dock...
But I got a B70 recently and noticed that the dock does not wiggle at all. Not sure why but it fixed the problem.

I had a space between tablet and the hinge too how did I solve it? I put a velcro (the smooth one) on the inside (the part that touches the back) and it is sturdy like glued into place

velcro or moleskin or any other type of soft tape will do

[Q] Case that Accomodates KB Dock

Anybody know of a case that allows you to put the Transformer into the KB dock without taking it out of the case?
I got this sleeve today. Unfortunately, wont know for sure until the dock order fills and gets to be, but has roughly x3 thickness of the tablet availabile, plus a bit more at the top.. so unless the keyboard is more than twice the thickness of the dock, i think it will be good. Granted this is a sleeve, because i bag it with my laptop.

Let me know if you want a pic of it open so you can see the tablet inside.
*read the question totally wrong*
any netbook case should work. Now, the transformer is a little wider than a typical netbook so you may want to actually bring it with you to test out. just to make sure.
but basically with the keyboard dock it's about the same size as an eee netbook, so i'd say 80-90% of netbook cases should work just fine.
may not be what your looking for but i'm buying this: http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-Ver...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1303933662&sr=1-1
Guys, he's asking if there's a sleeve you can put the tablet into, THEN put the whole thing into the keyboard dock.
( Transformer --> sleeve ) --> keyboard dock
I doubt any would work, due to the fit of the tablet into the dock receiver. A sleeve would have to have a pretty large cutout to accommodate that.

Loose connection to dock?

Hey so i was wondering how snug your prime sits in the dock. Mine has a bit of wiggle to it (if you hold the hinge still and wiggle the tablet it has a little wiggle). Is this normal and my expectations are too unrealistic, or should it be very snug?
Its not flailing around, but for instance when i use the touch screen when its docked, it has a slight bit of give. Nitpicky or normal is basically my question. Thanks!
Mines pretty secure, I think lol. I'm not around it now, I'll check if there's any wiggle when I go home tomorrow.

Mine was a tight fit from new but its starting to get a wobble. If I'm honest I cant see it lasting long term. I remove the tablet from the dock about twice a day so I wouldn't say its excessive. I think just opening and closing it has made it lose. Maybe this is normal only time will tell. Maybe we are worrying about nothing.
mine has definitely become looser in my mere 6 days of ownership. im going to be exchanging it for another one. or more likely returning for a refund and getting a new one when they actually exist in stores again
I get no motion at all when trying to move my tablet while its on the dock. Very secure.

I'm on my second dock and it too is now loose. Only noticeable if you try to wiggle it, but still annoying. Am I alone in this and just getting ****ty docks or is this normal?
I've not had any problems with my dock thus far after about 2 weeks of usage. I dont remove the dock very often however.

Believe it or not, there is not consistent thickness between primes. I had a 32 and 64gb model at the same time for a few days and noticed the 64 wasn't as snug of a fit as the 32. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the 32gb prime had about an extra credit card of thickness compared to the 64gb prime, allowing it to fit more snugly into the dock. If you keep getting wobbly docks, the problem is most likely your prime and not the dock.

Is there a case/skin with separate compartments for dock and tablet?

I'd like to get a case like the Targus A7 for my Prime. I usually carry both the keyboard dock and the tablet with me, but mostly I use only the tablet. It is then time consuming to first have to undock the tablet before using it and then dock it again before storing in the bag. Thus I'd rather have two separate compartments. Anyone know of such a case (preferably as small as possible)?

Something like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00725FE20/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details
Thanks for the suggestion but that wasn't quite what I meant. I just want a soft case to protect against scratches and bumps, but the case should have two compartments instead of one. So like the A7 but with a separator.

Yeah id like this too!
I was checking this out last night at best buy. It has one large main compartment with a Velcro divider, and several smaller compartments.

Thanks but I'm looking for one that isn't much bigger than the Prime and easily fits in my shoulder bag.

this would be my ideal case as well. hopefully someone knows of something!
I bought this one ( http://www.ebay.nl/itm/BLACK-MESSENGER-TRAVEL-BAG-FOR-ASUS-TRANSFORMER-TF101-/150644748149 ) for my TF101 and now I'm using it for my TF201.
Two compartiments, some extra space for charger, headset etc.
i'm loving it.
You could just get a normal sleeve and then get a piece of sturdy cardboard and some felt. Cut the cardboard to right size and use some 3m spray adhesive on it then wrap it with whatever material you like. In fact, I like this idea so much I may just do it this weekend with my case logic pls9.

Thinkpad Tablet Dock 2

I have just bought a Thinkpad Tablet (the original andriod version)
Was looking for a thinkpad tablet dock here in Australia as I remember that they were selling for $40 at one point. However couldn't find it online anymore.
On the online chat with a lenovo rep, he tells that dock 2 will work with the the original thinkpad and more interestingly.... HDMI will work from the dock as well.
Can anyone confirm this? HDMI was a major missing thing from the original dock
I think it will work. The port for the tablets is the same and I found out the original android dock was supposed to have HDMI out but they removed it before release.
You can see it in the picture I just took.
Just found this picture from the Lenovo site.
Is the original dock compatible with the Thinkpad Tablet 2?
I don't need all the ports. I just want to charge faster. The original dock is much cheaper.
Neither dock is immediately cross-compatible.
I had a TPT1 and still have its dock. My TPT1 was upgraded by Lenovo to a TPT2 after numerous warranty issues. They also gave me a free dock since I had purchased the TPT1.
To this question, I'll caution owners from buying the "other" dock for their device. Neither is 'out-of-the-box' compatible with the other tablet's physical dimensions.
The TPT1 dock is intended to be used in portrait mode, and the trough in which the tablet is seated on the docking connector is "boxed" on all four sides. Since the TPT2's connector is on the bottom landscape-wise, it cannot reach the TPT1 docks' connector as-is. You'll have to cut pieces of the plastic and metal dock off at the ends of the "box" to allow the TPT2 drop onto the connector.
Here's a pic of the TPT1 dock's "boxed" trough:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wwzqrgi9tjhrro8/2013-02-17 11.58.04.jpg
I also estimate that the TPT2 dock will not work with the TPT1-- if someone is doing so successfully, I will be happy to be proven wrong!
The reason I think it won't work is the comparative width of the TPT1 vs. TPT2. The TPT2 is significantly slimmer than the TPT1. While the TPT2 dock is not "boxed" on the ends like the TPT1 dock, the trough looks to be too narrow to allow the TPT1 to slide in to it. The TPT2 slides in snugly, and it is much thinner than the TPT1.
This pic is not as clear as I'd like, but it is attempting to show that the trough of the TPT2 dock (held upright in my left hand) including the plastic lip in the front is still narrower than the TPT1 trough.

Hope this is helpful.

Is there a source for the TPT1 docks? seems scarce on ebay and internet
Wow... they have become a little scarce.
Amazon - http://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-0A3395...65591584&sr=8-1&keywords=thinkpad+tablet+dock
Also the connector on the TPT2 Dock is a little bit different than on tpt1

Working charging dock for xperia zu WITH a case on?

I recently got the Nillkin hard cover case which is extremely thin. Unfortunately, even with this case, it does not work with my ebay charging dock. Links to both products:
Case:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EEAVJ1Q/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Charging dock:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/221302293102?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
With the largest "attachment" to the dock - 9.5mm, the case will go in and even clip magnetically, but will not charge. If I remove the attachment (ultra wide), it will not stay in, but does charge.
If anyone knows a solution or has a charging dock that will work with this sized case, please post a link!
Well what you can do it tear up the case and the cable out, you will not get the dock functionality but you wont have to remove the cover or open the flap everytime.
If you are creative enough, make your own dock and install the cable (from original dock) into it!

Had that case, and the official dock. Problem is the case side's raises the phone up so a tiny bit but enough so that it'll just sit right above the charger but won't properly connect. Modifying the dock or making one seems a lot more hassle than cutting the case, so I went and cut the case's charger slot so that it's wider, and also make a long rectangular cut along the back (about aslong and wide as my pinky finger) so I can slide it into the dock (small adapter, forgot if i tried the big wider one or not, might have made the back cutout unncessary though).
I don't think any of the cases are designed to be used with the dock. All the back-only cases like this all look the same - all designed it to cover up as much as possible. And all the chinese docks look like the official dock. So i don't think there's any dock/case you can buy as a solution... unless there is one since i last check two months ago.
But anyways, to me a dock is more necessary than a case, so 90% of a case is better than no case.
