Why do I need to enable roaming?

I'm currently using a local sim card from Thailand in my Vibrant, but I still need to enable roaming to get data connected. One would think the phone should recognize the SIM and enable data without roaming on.
Is this perhaps hard coded in these phones, and is there a possible fix?
Find the proper apn to set up

Strange, I had set them up manually before, but installed a new rom. Now for some reason it automatically setup the correct settings for data as well as MMS.
It's not giving me that warning anymore, but I wonder where it got those settings from...

Stock 2.2 wifi calling problems

So my wifi calling on a stock 2.2 vibrant, upgraded with kies mini, was working yesterday and now all of a sudden it says some error or tmobile network but I get full bars near a window, and in settings and the notification bar it says t-mobile network and also says my data is 2g. I dont know what went wrong but I kinda liked wifi calling and want it back, if possible without reflashing my phone. I tried erasing user data cash factory reset all that good stuff and even ran it from the start but nothing. Help would be appreciated greatly and thanks to anyone who does.

Disbaled networking.

I can't get my data connection to work, other than wifi. I've tried rebooting, battery pulled, and turned data network mode on and off multiple times.
Is there anyway to get it to turn back on? Or do I have to factory reset?
Running bionix 1.3.
Thanks and happy holidays!

i would say if your on gingerbread type this ##debug# and go to evdo or 3g engineering. goto the bottom of page and see if your authenticated. it sounds like you are not. if so verify your AAA and HA keys are correct in your MIP profile. and does cricket run on verizon or sprint network. if verizon you need to put a modified sprint/verizon prl on it so the phone dosent think its roaming.

[Q] Sprint Connections Optimizer?

Can anyone help me figure out how to turn this damn thing off? Everytime I turn off my WiFi to get some 4G action, it automatically turns on by itself.
Thanks. realchinky
