i have HTC View, and now is keep restarting on boot, i dont know what matter with it, and am trying to recover it from bootloader, but it seems i dont have the orginal image on sd card, doesn any one have a link for it to download, i've searched sprint and htc website, and nothing found.!!
my flyer started doing this today.what rom were you using?!?!
htc logo then reboot. very warm.
wtf
Have either of you done the OTA updates? If not you can use the RUU found here to restore to factory settings. I believe it will revert everything except S-OFF / Revolutionary if you went about unlocking it. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
-mbobino
really i didnt any updates as i know, it just crashed by it owns, and i use the original ROM, so where i can find post about s-off for it?
RUU.exe
Download the above file and run it on any windows based computer and it will restore your device to stock. After you do that, if you want s-off / root, go to http://revolutionary.io and follow the directions posted there.
That should get you up and going again.
File deleted no longer there anybody know where I can get it
....you'll probably get answers in the Evo threads, I think I've comes across a few regarding this.

I have a Sprint Htc Evo 3d with the twrp custom rom ver 1.0.3 on it. The newest sprint htc update came out for it today it is:
OTA_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.08.651.2-1.13.651.7_release_208272zixlp5sgm4g08poh
the problem im having is when i go to install the update it reboots into recovery mode and says it cant find the path to it and cant mount the sd card. so i go to flash from zip and it fails.
any idea how to install this update? is it possible to do it through my computer or is there a way i can put it in the root of my sd card and have it install from there?
it currently is in the download folder otherwise my phone doesnt seem to see it and wants me to redownload it.
I believe you need to be on a stock rom to install this update.
Also, you will lose root once you install it.
im going to try and change the default zip folder in twrp to see if i can get the folder to mount and possibly start the installation if not ill see if i can find a stock htc evo 3d rom and take it back and then put the custom back on it.
Click on this link for different roms. There might be one or two that says stock rooted rom.
I hear once you install the new OTA, you will lose root, and have to wait for a new exploit to gain full s-off and nand unlock.
If you want to stay rooted, go to this thread and still get most of the latest OTA.
Good luck on which way you choose.
hmmm at the risk of losing s-off the new sprint ota update isnt worth it then lol
I'm hearing it's a hit or miss of using htc unlock and installing clockworkmod recovery. I'd still wait until a dev from teamwin/alpharev to say it's ok.
In my last post, it's safe to use the rom that xhausx posted. He basically took the OTA apart and used whatever that was deemed safe to use. Just follow what he posted, and if you have questions, read the thread, and if you still have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
yeah i did and now my evo 3d is up to date and ready to go thanks Dave2582. the revolutionary unlock by AlphaRev and Unrevoked is what i used and it hasnt given me any issues yet so i support it still use at your own caution if you dont feel comfortable with it dont do it. and out of the custom roms iv used i like TWRP the best. i havent used any kernels yet and wouldnt know where to start. so i could use a good recomendation. other than that TY again Dave!
OK, if you have performed the revolutionary s-off like me, your OTA updates wont Update!
Have no fear (or better you should... )
A way forward is here....
Use EsFileExplorer Manager to back up all your apps.
Use HTC Sync to Backup as much data as you see fit....
I have to say this is relatively easy for noobs but involves a fair bit of work as it returns your device to a factory format (some would say a benefit as all crud is removed!)
First choose the correct RUU update from the stock ROM section on here for your device (all latest FW's are there if people supply them...).
This will install from your PC to the Flyer when USB cable is connected, cancel HTC Sync then close it, and then run the RUU update.
This will install the latest firmware but the results are:
s-off is still present.
CWM Recovery and Super User are removed.
All you have to do then is
Uninstall HTSync from your PC.
Shut down both PC and Flyer and restart.
Connect the flyer back to the PC in HTC sync mode, and run revolutionary.exe, it will protest that your unit is already s-off but will give you the option to install CWM again.
Once this is done, you can use CWM to re-install the Superuser file su-2.3.6.3-egfh.zip
Your Flyer will be back to a rooted, Super User factory version of the latest update where you have to install all your apps and customisations again, BUT at least you got your update....
If you did not save the revolutionary.zip file first time, you can still perform this through the website.
If you want to enable phone function, you can either perform the build.prop edit found on this forum area or I would suggest you use the http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&drKey=1359&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D1205050&v=1&libid=1314447895451&out=http%3A%2F%2Fandroidrevolution.nl%2Fnickiberli%2Findex.php%3Fdir%3DFlyer%252FMODs%252F&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fforumdisplay.php%3Ff%3D1023&title=%5BROM%5D%5BKernel%5D%5BFlyer%5D%20FlyHigh%20ROM%20v1.2%20%7C%20extra%20speed%20%7C%20GSM%2FWiFi%20script%20%7C%20Android%202.3.4%20-%20xda-developers&txt=enable_gsm_phone_calls.zip&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13144479250571 by niciberli installed via CWM (donate to him as this one gives true contact images in phone...)
Only drawback with that is your software version in 'About Device' will say FlyHigh ROM! but it is actually stock.....
Enjoy....
Donate to football if you can in the shipped ROMs thread as he provides the support for this and any other guys such as globatron. For me, just tick the Thanks box if you find it useful.
Thank you... now I just need the latest update RUU 2.27.207.1 for o2
Well this was just perfect for me. I lost root when I flashed a stock rom and I was looking for an easy way to get it back. This did it! Thanks so much.
You can also re-flash recovery using fastboot and then install su.zip. You don't have to use revolutionary, for some people the recovery download doesn't work through revolutionary.
See the instructions in my S-OFF thread for what to do if revolutionary fails to install recovery and go from there.
As CWM is removed when a RUU is performed, and a .zip needs to be installed, I tried to keep it simple for noobs, but any input is welcome for all of us!
Does this work for the Sprint View? If not, can you tell me how to upgrade a rooted/s-off evo view?
thank Farsquidge.
but i cannot find the Original Rom for HK.
don't know how to update 2.3.4
maybe waiting a new vision to update my flyer
thank you again

Thanks - however, can someone point me to the correct RUU? I am currently using Sprint Evo View 1.18.651.1, baseband 1.05.11.0509. It is rooted with S-OFF. I looked in this post but could not find the correct RUU.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1062184
TIA
Edit: I was able to flash it back to stock, then upgraded to GB 2.3.4, and re-rooted. I cannot figure out how to flash recovery - I keep getting "waiting for device".
what hboot version do you have after running this?
i now have hboot-6.10.1002. and following this link but using RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.23.405.3_R_Radio_20.3504.30.08 9BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204108_signed instead.
So I am not sure if this is related, but what is happening is that the internal storage is not picked up by CWM. Or is that expected behaviour?
Hello everybody
The new ICS update for the ROGERS EVO 3D just came out yesterday, so I restored my phone to the original firmware (via restoring the backup I did in the recovery) and then proceeded to download the OTA update. After it finished, the phone rebooted into the recovery (i have 4-ext touch recovery) and started installing. After it finished, the phone rebooted and then got stuck on the white HTC screen. I managed to enter the recovery again and restore the original firmware again. What is that I'm doing wrong here? Here is some helpful info:
Rogers EVO 3D, GSM version
Unlocked bootloader (HTCDEV method), S-ON
carrier unlocked
HBOOT 1.49.0008
OS is rooted
I'm in the same boat but I'm not able to do a recovery. I went through the update process and when the phone rebooted it got stuck on the white htc screen. I can get it into the bootloader menu but when i choose recovery it starts but then i get an error with a pic of the device and the red yield sign. If i choose factory reset it just gets stuck at the white htc. I read some other posts and I saw that having an unlocked bootloader may cause issues with updates so that may be your issue as for me, I'm not sure what I can do. I may just need the actual update file to redo the update but I'm not sure where to find it.
Same here, but I don't get half way through the ota update before I see the red triangle and exclamation mark. Phone will boot into stock recovery (which I would assume you need instead of modded recovery) and the update starts, but doesn't complete. I pull the battery and the phone boots up normally. Just can't seem to get through the update. Could be something to do with being s-off I would guess.

Same problem but whit s-off
I have been predicting that this would happen... ICS failures with non-standard HBOOTs. Good luck.
Probably will have to wait for an RUU or custom.
I'd recommend using the GB ruu to get you back to full stock. Always found Rogers ota updates (possibly all carriers?) won't install if you're rooted or using a custom recovery.
I had to install the ruu via renaming the rom.zip to PG86IMG.zip and copying it to the sd card so that the bootloader would auto flash it. Running the ruu exe tossed up all kinds of errors.
It will put everything back to Rogers stock. After that just setup wifi and do the 2 Rogers OTA updates.
Once in ICS, it's easy peasy to get recovery and root back.
Also, for what it's worth, Go Backup is awesome for going rom to rom and not needing a full backup. Use it on rooted rom, then use it to restore after rooting new rom. Will do all your apk's and everything.
1st post here after years of lurking. Yay.

Alright thanks a lot
Just an update on what I did. I was able to reload the stock gb rom for rogers using the exe file, then I went through the 2 updates that came up when checking and ics is now up and running on my phone. However in my attempts of trying to fix the original problem, I managed to re-lock my bootloader before flashing to stock rom and I had s-on the whole time. hope this help.
i switched to stock like.. a week back?
jus got ota on 4th
i WAS rooted and using juopunutbear's hboot *u can jus get the hboot from their website*
so i jus flashed back stock recovery.. and updated.. and success.. lost root though.. and i was back to stock bootloader..
used the PG86IMG with juopunutbear's bootloader and 4ext recovery.. and flashed cwm supersu.. v0.91 i think.. i dunno.. latest one.. and bam.. im on stock.. rooted.. and works perfectly..
Possible sollution
Maybe try flashing one of the customized ROMs that are based on the latest OTA update. I'm sure Anryl's newest rom is blazing-fast and stable. You can find it in the gsm android development forum and flash it via recovery. Make sure you have the latest 4ext recovery installed, though.
where can a i find that stock rogers rom i modified mine and that might be the reason i get a security failure in hboot. s is on. when i run the ruu file in windows to downgrade i get error 155. when i run the the update from about phone. it locks up with blue android guy and yellow exclamation mark. i remove the battery and she boots fine with no changes.
I am trying to do same. Get stuck on HTC screen. I have S-ON. Was on cobra 2.4 prior.
If anyone can give details on how to fix it, it would be great! Please no saying "install exe". I need to know which exe etc.
just wanted to tell everyone that in order for the ota update to work properly, you need to be running stock unrooted firmware with a locked bootloader. Just relock your bootloader, reinstall the stock firmware, upgrade to ics via ota, then re-unlock and re-root.
Hi
I have a HTC EVO 3D from Rogers that was got messed up during changing networks... rooted the phone for no apparent reason... to now get a update for it for ics from the provider and it bricked the phone.
It's stuck at HTC boot screen, can get fastboot USB from bootloader. recovery gets a ! in a triangle and factory reset doesn't work, freezes at splash screen after restarting the phone. Was stupid not making a backup or searching for programs to back it up before I went ahead and clicked update
It has HTC boot-loader 1.49 s-on but is rooted.
I am looking for clear(fix my evo for dummies) step by step instructions with correct installation for my model of phone, HTC EVO 3D Rogers GSM, or anything that could replace the os to get my phone to be useful again I'm currently using my backup phone a HTC G1 HTC ftw
Try kingcobra's rom, ota from rogers will not boot due to the fact that your phone is rooted, kingcobra's rom is based on rogers ota, flash it and leave it.

Go to the gsm development forum and download the RUU for the phone, and restore it to stock unrooted OS. Before you do that though, make sure that your phone's BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED. Look up how to re-lock your bootloader. After you relock your bootloader, you can proceed with restoring the phone.
Soooo.... basically, what I'm getting from this is, if you like having a locked bootloader, CWM and root, don't bother trying to install this OTA update because it's a headache. Agree?
The phone's not mine, it's my wife's, and she doesn't want anything special or like the idea of me messing around in her phone.
I was about to install this late last night, just about to hit that button, then I thought, "what about the bootloader? what about root? what about the fact that it's now unlocked and being used on a carrier other than Rogers?"
Hi all,
I've got a huge problem! I have a Flyer that was running LeeDrOiD 4.3 but I wanted to revert it back to stock GB. I was able to get it onto stock HC but I couldn't get it to install GB.
I thought it might be because of the Revolutionairy unlock method I used so I tried to reset this back to stock through reinstalling hboot. I put the Flyer in fastboot and ran a program which ran the command: fastboot flash hboot engHBOOToverARX.img
I believe I installed some other phone's hboot because now my Flyer won't start up in any form or way anything anymore. Not the bootloader, not HC, not the bootscreen. The red light indicating that it's being charged also won't blink anymore.
Goodnews however is that through fastboot I can still somehow get access to the tablet. Can anyone please provide me with the source where I can download the HTC Flyer hboot file? Or tell me what I'm supposed to do.
Thanks in advance for any help given. Apologies for being such a n00b.
I am not sure if all Hboot versions work for all flyers. I have a Flyer Hboot loaded to my drop box but to be honest I do not think it will do you much good.
Thanks for your reply! Ok, I'm not too sure about that either.
Do u know if there is any way of finding out which hboot files are suitable for my HTC Flyer (even though it's not powering on anymore)?
And can u send/link me the hboot file you had in your dropbox? I'd really like to try.
fixed
After a month long battle trying to do find appropriate hboot files to somehow get my flyer back to stock I finally managed to do this.
In the process I screwed up my flywr so bad that it wouldn't relock the bootloader anymore. Because of this the tablet didn't wouldn't reinstall the original RUU.
I tried to completely erase the hboot through a script I found somewhere on an HTC desire topic. This only made it worse because this script had erased everything. My restore partition, my boot partition, everything...
At this point there was nothing to fix anymore because the bootloader wouldn't load, fastboot wouldn't recognize, the tablet was toasted. I screwed it up so far that even htc wouldn't be able to check what I did to it.
At this moment I decided to return it and try to go for my warranty and it worked. I know got a completely new flyer and this time I'm keeping it completely stock except for a little root access.
I live in the Netherlands. Got my new flyer after 1 week.
If someone is interested I can look for the script that sends your flyer into oblivion
I would love to get your service guy to take mine rooted flyer into warranty after few rain drops to fix mine problems or get new Flyer. U can keep the script.
Hey guys I have an Htc evo 3d with 1.5 hboot unlock with htc dev tool.. at the time it was unlock I was able to install willshooter [2.08.651.3] rom htc sense 3.0. now that I am ready to sell the device I want to restore it back to stock ICS.
the issues that I have is that I am unable to go into recovery, I try using Rom Manager to get a recovery to install but it wont stick, and it wont let me go into recovery.
I already try using updating my bootloader, it wont take it aswell.. and I also try using the OTA option where you go into the setting and try to update it I have a clean 16gb sdcard in case its a memory issue and the cellphone is not connected. I am using wifi to try to update it.
I would appreciate if anyone been on this situation before and would lend a hand.. if more information is needed please ask, because I need to restore this device..
Thanks.
Unless I missed something, you should be able to lock the bootloader and then run an ruu.exe to get back to stock.

That should work. Your bootloader will say "*** RELOCKED ***" but other than that everything should be stock.
You can download the most current Sprint ICS RUU.exe (2.89.651.2) here.
BTW, ROM Manager doesn't work well on the Evo 3D so you might have better luck downloading the 4EXT Recovery app and usiing that to flash and boot into recovery. There are free downloads available on the www.4ext.net website.

same thing happened to my evo 3d a couple of weeks ago and i did the exact same thing they said^^^^ and it worked peefectly
