[Q] fonts - HTC EVO 3D

can anyone tell me where i can get fonts for my infected evo 3d...

You can check this thread out here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801160
And check out dafont.com. Keep in mind these aren't flashable. Use an app called font changer from the market. You will need to download the zip of the font you want, extract the .tff file, and put it in the, .fontchanger folder. When it asks to reboot, just reboot manually instead of letting the app do it or you will have to do a battery pull.

Those do not work on the evo 3d. Only way I know of is the font changer from the market. I use "custom android font changer" just fine and u can add your own or it has built in fonts aswell.

Believe me, they work fine on the 3d. Like I said, you can't flash them, no, but you pull the .tff files from the zip. If he does what I suggested, he'll be fine

Yeah, they worked for me too. I actually used to use font installer and now use the above method.
What? Hero is evolving... Hero evolved into EVO 3D!

There's an app called font installer in the market, easier than sifting through 100's of fonts
Edit: didn't see guy above me...my bad

I've never even noticed to tell ya the truth, lol. I use widget locker so the font is changed with that. As far as the stock lockscreen I'm not sure. :/ I guess not tho.

This app works on the 3D as well. Here is the original thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=699978

It doesn't seem to be working for me =\
That's a great app. Been using it on all my Sense roms since my OG EVO. It is a paid app.

Not sure, but you might have to have the flashlight app installed for this to work.
I do! Still didn't work =\

Just a heads up, I believe an updated version is posted HERE It works great for me.
HTC offers the app through the HTC HUB also. Of course they may push other stuff to the phone but its still available.
this is a complete noob question but how are we installing the apks to the 3D?

Download the apk onto your SD card, then go to the file location and select it using any file managaer (OI File Manager, Astro, File Expert, Root Explorer, etc.). Then you can install it like any other app.

Change the font type?

Does anyone know if there are flashable custom fonts for the EVO 3D? This was an awesome bonus with the EVO 4G and I was hoping it'd be available on the 3D as well. Please someone let me know!?
There aren't any flashable zips that i know of, but you can download the zips of the fonts you want from the 4G threads and extract the tff files from the zip. Download fontchanger from the market (free) and use that. It's pretty simple and works great. Just after you change it with fontchanger, reboot it manually instead when it asks if you want to reboot. If you choose to let it automatically reboot, you'll have to do a battery pull

System fonts

There was a post of 300+ fonts when I had my evo 4G, I'm not sure if I didn't dig deep enough but can find it for the 3d. I got a few in my sd card but it just won't flash. I'm on hboot 1.4 s-off using Olympus rom. Any suggestions anyone?

we have different mount points than the 4G, you could extract the font zip you want, and then paste the fonts into /system/fonts.
Will do now. thanks
Ok so I got root explorer the font I got I "extract all" then takes me to an extracted folder. What am I doing wrong?

Ok so I got it, it was late last night, couldn't think straight and we stay up late because these phones are addictive. (think we need to go to evo3d anonymous) anyway, it don't change all the fonts just like in the dial pad, browser but not in the home screen. Do I got to delete the old font?

i always have conflicts with fonts for some reason
I use Font Changer(Root) and it works great. I just look online for the fonts and flash via the Font Changer apk. I'm using Sansumi now.

[APP] screenshot

does anyone have a screenshot apk? im using virtuous doubleshot and unfortunately there isnt a built in screenshot option like MIUI and ics (unless im missing something here.. lol). but yeah i was just wondering if anyone had one. i dont have the money to purchase one from the market, and my parents both have the g2x so its built in for them and they think its a waste of money (yeah idk). the free one(s) suck since their last update. i also tried 4shared and no luck. just wondering if anyone had one, that's all. thanks!
have you tried holding the power button and while holding power button pressing home.
Yeah. Just turns off the screen, opens my home screens or opens my power options. This is for virtuous doubleshot.

Just copy to system
Set permissions to r/w, r, r
Then move to system/data
Reboot
I changed the permissions but where do I copy it to after? Local/system/data cuz I don't have that folder.. But I'm pretty sure I'm looking in the wrong place.. Lol

I'm sorry. I guess me putting system/data made it a bit confusing. Ok, once you copy it to system and set permissions, just move it to the data folder then reboot.
Shouldn't it be /system/app..? Its an apk right?

Your semi correct lil boy. APK means Android Package and just because its *.apk does not mean it will be always placed on /system/app. In in this case he can use it as system app or install it manually which will place it on /data/data.
But OP did you ever try ShootMe? It was virtually the best screenshot app ever made for android. So try it if not use something else.

If you have SDK installed on a computer just use ddms.bat to take screen shots works well..
I hope you weren't asking for a hacked app..

Chrome apks

Here are some apks that change the icons on your home screen and your app drawer.
Thanks to Pfaffinator for the icons.
1 go to system/ app and copy your entire app file then place it on an sd card for backup if you want to revert back to your original icons.
2 copy these new apks to system/ app. Your phone will ask if you want to replace your old apk with the new one...tap yes then profit.
3 I do not know how to make a zip file yet as I am still learning.
4 I will add more as I theme more icons.
5 DISLAIMER : I am not responsible for your phone if something goes wrong.
Here are some screen shots

If you flash super Jelly, use the super Jelly updater to download a blank zip. You then use an archive manager like 7zip or winrar to place the apk's in the system/app folder. I think it has to be signed for JB, not sure how to do that tho.
Thanks for sharing tho. If these are someone else's work can you give them credit? If this is your work, nice job!
Edit: saw you said you were theming the icons. Sorry if I offended by suggesting this was another person's work

Sorry my mistake. I didn't make the icons. I put them in the apks to use with our phones. Thank you for making me aware that I needed to do that.

Pull the apks modified. Either adb pull system > w/e.apk. or do it via phone via a root powered file explore. Place the apks on your sdcard. Mount the device place on your computer. That download a theme or a mod zip. And archive into that make your changes etc flash to test then release as a theme. Message me about if you already haven't ill get to you as soon as I can.

Did it force close once or does it work correctly now? If it doesn't work correctly and you made a backup on your SD card of your original APks you can just pull the NFC apk only and put it back in system app.

I downloaded the YouTube file went to es file explorer copied the apk went to system/apps pasted it then it asked me if I wanted to overwrite I pressed yes it said it was installed successfully but when I go to my app drawer nothing changes...any help would be appreciated Tia
Edit: nevermind after I rebooted it changed..you should put that you need to reboot in the instructions so less educated people like me know that..thanks for these they are sweet and go with my chrome theme!
