Music stops playing when taking pictures? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Why does my music stop playing when I open up the camera?
Any settings to allow the music to keep playing?

anyone help with this?

Nope, no setting.

might be possible if you flash a custom rom but stock wont do it.

By design. There are tweaks to stop this - e.g. villainrom and vrtweaks.

[Q] Phone reboots while playing music after phone sleep

I'm running simply galaxy gingerbread ROM, and when I play my music and turn the screen off, the phone reboots. Can anyone help me out?
You really should be posting this on the rom's thread, that's what they're for after all. Either way, try a different music player for a shortcut.
Give PowerAmp a try.
Cool, I'll give poweramp a shot
yea i had that problem you can either install a new music player from the market or you can download another music player from the apps and themes section and try to push it with root explorer....
Stock music player will crash on JVB ginger roms. Use Miui music.
You need to change your settings in Set CPU to a minimum of 200mhz and Max at 1000ghz. If you do that you'll never get the freeze.

stock music player 2.3.4

On 2.3.4 i realized the stock music player force closes as soon as i start playing a song. It never force closes when im browsing through albums or artist or anything like that. Is this a known issue? Or can anyone suggest any help for me because i really like the new look of the motoblur player?
I have searched each section of the the atrix forum and have not found a similiar thread. If i posted in the wrong section please feel free to move.
I have force close issues if I open a music file THEN choose the player. If i open it then pick a song its fine. Nice player. I still use player pro and have also been using music beta.

I had this problem. There were two music apps running under the same name. I just used Titanium Backup to freeze the one I least liked. Hope this helps.
Seems like the same problem the fingerprint lock registration application is having. When the system tries to inflate a resource (could be a png, jpeg) it thinks it its not a drawable. Could be that this build its lacking some images.

Music stops playing while gaming

Hey guys!
I'm experiencing this very annoying issue with my s3:
I usually play games and listen to music at the same time, and after a bit of gaming, the music stops. When I restart the music and go back to the game, after a few seconds it stops again.
If I exit the game and the close everything it's opened in the mean time using the task killer, and then restart the game and music is works fine for a few minutes after which it stops again.
Please note that this if happening with both PowerAmp and the stock music player. I am also on Omega 5.2, and the game I usually play is Real Racing 2.
Has anyone else encounter this? Any fixes?
Thanks!
Maybe real racing needs the ram music player have.. Does it do the same on other games?

it's not an exact thing...for example today i played the game for an hour straight while listening to music and did not stop...
i guess it's related to ram...
i also raised power amp's priority to the highest and it still stops while playing...
Does this happen on cm9 also?

I have this issue with music and browsing, a reboot sorted it out in the short term.. Annoyed Mr so much that I've resorted to listening to the radio rather than my music, frustrating.

haven't tried cm9...
Its probably not the ram... Or the ROM. Its sounding like its more or less an automated task killer?

I do use Advanced task killer, but I made sure to add the music players to the ignore list...It's not that the player process is killed, it just stops playing the music....it kinda' pauses..
It might be worth mentioning that I only have 16 bit, 44-48 kHz FLAC files...so no mp3's...but I expect the quad core inside my s3 to cope with that well...
nope.
music still playing in background while playing games with game sound and music on.
didn't have this problem in XXALEF nor now in XXALF6

it's not an exact test....I usually kill everything unnecessary before opening the music player and then the game.
Sometimes I get to play 10 minutes before the music stoping...sometimes I play 1 hour...
For the stock player, Music Player settings, there is a Music Auto Off setting. But since it is like happening randomly in your case and even in PowerAmp, I doubt this is the cause but you might want to look into it .

yeah, the music auto off setting is set to off..
Maybe its due to the motion control..Go to settings>Motion>Go to "Turn over to mute/pause" option> Turn it off> Might solve the problem, Not sure!:silly:
Also try turning off "Palm touch to mute/pause" option in "Settings>Motion" itself
Music playback stops(pauses) the moment i launch Need For Speed Most Wanted(EA )....only with this game.......
Plays perfectly fine for other games....(No matter either its the play music or a third party player)

Its probably RAM problem. You can try change kernel settings: Govenor to ondemand, and Internal SD to sio.

[Q] audio playback randomly pausing

I've been having issues with downcast, winamp, and the stock samsung music player with random pausing of playback. Downcast informed me it was doing this because another app was requesting audio focus. This happened on the stock rom and on the current debloated rom I'm running.
Anyone have any ideas?

After researching a bit it looks like this is a fault of Winamp, it asks for audio focus causing other apps to pause even when you're not using winamp to play anything. Just thought i'd post in case someone else has the same issue.

Slow-motion video not working

I have a VZW LG-V10 and love it.
Yesterday I tried to use the slow motion video, and it doesn't work. I select "mode" then select "slo-mo" and it says hit the button to record in slow mo. I record the video. After I record I use the gallery app, (stock) and it plays back normal speed with sound. Others that I saw having this problem say use the "stock gallery" but that doesn't do any thing for me.
I tried recording to sd and to internal just to check. Thanks for any help you give.
Also I have the newest update recently released.
Clear you gallery default apps. Sounds like it's playing in a non stock video player.
