Is super user 3.0 not responsive? mine is sometime trouble and laggy, force close SU and/or wipe data needed, to make it work again, how about you? and how to make it works flawlesly?
Same issue. I uninstalled the update because it was too temperamental. Now works fine again. I think its because of my custom kernel.

works fine with me....stock kernel with Nocturnal rom
i dont remember with rom i tried but at least 3 roms have this problem
I have same problem but fixed when i cleared the logs and then clear the data from application>manage application>su select clear data.
I did updated the App from the market, and after that, i did the update inside the SuperUser APP.
No problems found until now.

Hey guys I've been using my trusty htc Hero for about 2 years now and lately I've been noticing it's no longer what it quite used to be..
That being that it doesn't run smoothly the latest apps and can't perform some simple tasks decently enough for that matter.
Also, a very important thing is that all the latest ROMs are heavily loaded with apps I just don't need. What I want is a very lightweight ROM with only the essential apps installed on it so that I would be able to customize it exactly the way I want.
I once tried to manually modify a ROM with a kitchen, but it's too much hassle and for some reason the ROM kept crashing and lagging.
Please suggest some lightweight ROM (2.1 or higher preferable) that only has the most essential stuff in it.
Thanks so much in advance!!
Open the zip of the Rom you want, delete apks you don't want in system - app then sign it (i use autosigner) voila you have a light Rom

you can do that ^
Or you install rootexplorer on your phone, browse to "/system/app/" and delete everything you don't need. Then reboot the phone, and wipe cache and dalvik. (not needed, just in case)
It's basically the same, just.. another method ^^

Yep, its what I do, I use ESFile Explorer and delete everything I do not need, including the launcher and the standard SMS app to replace them with my personal choices. I am running Elelinux Speedmachine 4 and applied the changes I mentioned now and it runs smooth as hell, no crashes, no problems whatsoever.
Because of the Cyanogen Mod I do not even need SetCPU anymore.
The autosigning for me somehow never really worked, thats why I went to this method.
I would however like a very basic rom where only the real necessary stuff is installed and you can custom install what you want on top of it then...
I am doing regular CM7 nightly updates every other day. I keep my apps backed up with titaniumbackup pro. Before, I was able to run PVZ on my NC just fine-its fullscreen, slightly pixelated but you won't notice it. Ive only just realized that now it won't run anymore. Whenever I try to run it, it goes to that 'hourglass' loading screen then the app terminates. I tried both compatibility modes in spare parts but it didn't do anything differently. Anyone can help?

Have you tried reinstalling it? Did you edit your IMEI or build.prop?
just tried it, and the game runs just fine for me. maybe you'll need to uninstall and reinstall or restore the game from one of your backups.
I have it installed from Amazon Market and it's always worked just fine.
Works fine for me on nightlies.
Works for me you may need to fix permissions in recovery.

Works fine for me by default. Reinstall it.
Thank you all! It's still not working for me after doing everything that you guys suggested.
Here's what I did:
I totally uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I run it, it goes to the hourglass, then the PopCap logo, then the app terminates. I uninstalled it again, I 'restored' it from my original Titanium Backup. No go. Fix Permissions using ROM Manager. Nope. Fix Permissions in CWM. Same thing.
Now I didn't know that it's required to edit the build.prop to make this app work, as I reckon I never did that before when I first got the app. I wonder what am I missing?
I'm running CM7 Nightly 171 (pretty stable) and OC to 1.2GHz. Hope you can help me. I'd like to try if modifying build.prop would do it, but I dunno how. Can someone point it out?
Thanks to this amazing community!
had this happening with angry birds.....
i had to uninstall... through market or tb.. ..reboot into recovery... do a format data, and then clear cache and dalvik..... reboot.... ..reinstall....from market....then fix permissions!
edit...:son's NC oc'd 1.3 CM7 ....
I was able to make it work. What I did:
format /data
format /system
format /cache
wipe dalvik cache
install latest nightly (177)
Immediately after installing the new nightly, I installed plants vs zombies.
It worked!
BUT!
After a did a restore of the rest of my apps (not including the plants vs zombies) via titanium backup, it stopped working again.
I therefore conclude that some of my apps or widgets are the ones that causing plants vz zombies not to work.
:'(
I doubt anyone can help me though, seeing that most of you guys have got it and is working just fine. I wonder if I will have the patience to try and install all my apps one by one to check what's causing the pvz to not work.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
Hello!
I'm using a Spice Mi-350 phone(It is the same as Lenovo A60). On the stock Google Maps worked perfectly. But recently i flashed Yonip 5.3.7 Rebirth ROM. Since then Google Maps does not work anymore. When ever i open it, it says 'This application requires a working data connection'. I have a fully working data connection and every other app on my phone can access the internet except for Google Maps and it's related apps(like Navigation,Places,Local, etc).
Here is the download link for the Yonip 5.3.7 Rebirth ROM.
www . mediafire . com/?924ns3v1abe6rmn
I would be really very grateful if someone can please check out the problem and detect what is causing the error.
Thanks in advance!
Not really sure this will solve your issue, but sometimes wiping cache and dalvik cache from recovery can solve these issues.

Along with wiping cache and dalvik, I'd suggest going in and fixing permissions as well. Also, go in to setting and clear data.

Hmm, kinda dodgey... Couldn't find an actual forum for this ROM, but I did find this with a good search. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1317804&page=149. Some folks in there are talking about 3g issues around page 144/145 or so. Nandroid back to your most recent back up. Does maps work correctly there?
Did the map application come as part of the ROM, or u installed it seperatly from market? Try installing a signed gapps from goo.im for your android version and see if that helps.

The Yonip 5.3.7 is actually just an ICS themed ROM of the original 2.3.5. Google Maps worked perfectly on the original ROM(by original i don't mean stock ROM, it was a slightly modified custom ROM by javum).
Figured it out! Maps 6.14.* is the culprit. Version 6.12 nd below work perfectly! Hopefully 6.15 will work too!
Been running the TASK 650 ROM for a little while now, currently on ver 6.24.
If I update the Trickster MOD, when trying to run System Settings -> Kernel Settings, I get an app not responding message. Anyone having this issue and any way to correct it?
If I run the app from the app list it seems fine; just not from Kernel settings.
I cleared cache and dalvik cache, nothing corrected the issue.
Thx!
I can't be the only person with this issue
You're probably one of the few left running Tasks' rom, so yes, you're likely the only one with this problem.
The kernel that was included in his rom was a modded version of the CM kernel of the time. It's old and I'm sure Tasker has been updated since then. Try changing kernels and see if you still have the problem. Sometimes you have to do your own investigating, especially when you're running an abandoned rom.
Hey All,
This is really driving me up the wall.
Youtube is not playing videos at all whether it is through the app or chrome browser. This started about a week ago. All i am getting is the never ending loading Circle
At first i thought it was the newest version that just came out on 1/8, but i rolled back to my previous version using Titanium and same ish.
I tried a lot of the basics.
1- uninstall/reinstall, clear data, cache on app.
2- did the default wipe in TWRP recovery
- reinstalled rom/gapps - Carbon ROM - phone was setup with minimal settings to just test youtube (been running the ROM since Nov)
- no change
4- did another wipe, this time an advance version which included cache, dalvik cache, system, internal storage, data
- no change
Nothing improved and doesn't even play the ads (I did have ABP installed but keep in mind that i have now completely wipe and only installed GAPPS and setup one email account to download youtube from playstore) This really should be working now...
Tonight i will try either an older version of the rom or a completely different one but i rather not.
anybody have anything???
I too am having the same problem. It does work on WiFi, but not on 4g.
