Hey All,
This is really driving me up the wall.
Youtube is not playing videos at all whether it is through the app or chrome browser. This started about a week ago. All i am getting is the never ending loading Circle
At first i thought it was the newest version that just came out on 1/8, but i rolled back to my previous version using Titanium and same ish.
I tried a lot of the basics.
1- uninstall/reinstall, clear data, cache on app.
2- did the default wipe in TWRP recovery
- reinstalled rom/gapps - Carbon ROM - phone was setup with minimal settings to just test youtube (been running the ROM since Nov)
- no change
4- did another wipe, this time an advance version which included cache, dalvik cache, system, internal storage, data
- no change
Nothing improved and doesn't even play the ads (I did have ABP installed but keep in mind that i have now completely wipe and only installed GAPPS and setup one email account to download youtube from playstore) This really should be working now...
Tonight i will try either an older version of the rom or a completely different one but i rather not.
anybody have anything???
I too am having the same problem. It does work on WiFi, but not on 4g.

[Q] Browser doesn't work on CELB Froyo 4.3 =(? HELP!
1. Check 3G signal, basically is the internet working?
2. Try re-flashing CELB and make sure to flash the latest gapps too
It would be more helpful if you gave a more in depth view of your browser problem.
it would help you more if you posted this issue in CELB's thread. You will get better answers faster by people who use the rom and that may have came across the isssue
When i try to reply it says i can't and should start using the Q&A Thread? smh

That's due to a recent change in XDA's site policy - new users can not post in the development sub-forums until they have at least 10 posts in other forums. So, you were right to post your question here, as you had no other choice. DirtyBubble apparently wasn't aware of this either, or he wouldn't have said that.
I tried a fresh install of 4.3 last night (w/ gapps 12/28), no bootloops, but no market access or Google account setups either. I'm going to look at a few different installs in a couple minutes - check back in this thread later.

I tried the following 3 trials:
Before starting, I did a Nandroid backup (from within ROM Manager/Clockworkmod) of my existing ROM - CELB 4.1. (I am not sure of whether this 4.1 ROM had gapps 12/28 in it or not - I believe it does, but iirc they were installed on a CELB 3.9 ROM, and then just overflashed to 4.1)
1) Wipe Cache, Wipe Data/FR, Flash CELB4.3, Flash gapps 12/28
Result: account setup does not occur; market app crashes or closes immediately. Tried doing a FR on this; next boot the kernel actually crashed. Didn't bother to check the browser**
2) Wipe Cache, Wipe Data/FR, Flash CELB4.3, Flash gapps 10/18
Result: Provided account creds; phone sync'ed just fine and restored settings; Market works; Web Browser worked.
3) Wipe Cache, Wipe Data/FR, Restore CELB 4.1 from Nandroid backup; Flash CELB4.3; Wiped CACHE ONLY.
Result: Everything works, including stock browser.
** I didn't bother to check the browser in this case because I have little interest in using a ROM without a Gmail account; it did occur to me later, though, that the default setting of the browser has been to use location-services, and that the stock browser has exhibited crashes on startup on other ROMs that did not have a Google account configured. You can turn this off in the browser - but only if it doesn't crash, because you need to get to the browser settnigs menu to deal with this, so that is impossible in this case.
I don't know if that is your issue or not, but you could try turning off location services in the Settings menu and see if that makes any differences. (I don't know if that will work, but it is easy to try). Anyway, that's two solutions: either overflash 4.3 on top of a prior CELB ROM, or do a clean install of 4.3 using the 10/18 gapps. (If you do the former, you can only wipe cache at the end if you are using ClockworkMod - or manually via ADB if you are booted into Amon_RA).

Hi everyone, this is my first post and I precise that I have done as many and accurates research for my problem, without answers (on both XDA Forum and Google). So this is my problem:
I have a Samsung Galaxy SII AT&T(obviously) and since a while, I am unable to download any applications from the market properly. This is how it happens:
-When I accept the terms and launch the download, it keeps on "Downloading" without starting properly and is cancelled after several minutes.
-When I accept the terms and launch the download, it keeps on "Downloading" during several minutes before starting.
-And some VERY RARE times the download starts automaticly just after hitting "Accept..."
I also noticed that when I try to download applications from the play store via the mobile network, all works fine but whenever I go back on the WiFi network, I face the same issue. I have also tried to flash different ROMS(JellyBean). My phone is also rooted.
Thank you for your consideration and help if possible.
Did you try to clear data from Google Play and Google Play Services?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using Tapatalk 2
Yes I did. And it seems that it's a problem with all Google's services:
-I can't watch any videos from on YouTube, same problem of infinite loading without starting.
It's not a problem of slow connection as I download ROMs and other stuf without major or significative network speed problem.
By the way, thank you for your care.
Wipe everything and do a fresh install.
This what I do each time by reflashing the same ROM or flashing others one.
-Wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-format system(when asked)
-wipe dalvik cache
-Flash the rom (and latest gapps when necessary)
-Reboot system... set up my phone and restore user apps via Titanium Backup.
Also of course if you change your DPI to a non stock value or use inverted apps packages that can cause the issue. But in assuming you know that already so if that's not the issue i dunno what it could be.
No inverted apps neither non stock dpi since it happens even from MIUI roms to Shostock3 pasing by AOKP and CM ROMs. I'll try with a different WiFi later as I think it's a problem with my WiFi but it was working fine before those 4 weeks.
Edit: Problem solved! Looks like it was an issue from nowhere.. Anyway, Thank you all for your help, it's good to get one's updates back
Hi, I would like to tell you my series of unfortunate events.
I was on Stock Android Rom with my International s3.
Yesterday i got bored and i installed Revolution Hd Rom (32). It was awesome! i liked 4.2 and i liked that it was stable/fast.
My main concern WAS the stability and speed about roms. And Revolution was flawless.
So while i was setting up my phone, i did something HORRIBLE!
I was trying to install Jobnik's slow mo camera app with cwm. But stupidly i tried to flash it like a rom (Used app to reboot and install rom.)
So my device was stuck on boot. (on samsung logo)
- I tried to wipe cache
- Tried to wipe cache + dalvik cache
- Tried to wipe cache + dalvik cache + factory data reset+user data wipe (a little problem there though, all of my files were still there.)
And nothing helped.
I give up.
I was lucky, i had the rom image on my sd card root. So i flashed it again. Installed with aroma. And ta-dah! My phone was back!
SOO here comes my problem;
- Now my rom is so slow! I have some flickering issues too. When i first installed i've selected some tweaks. (build.prop, sqlite and seeder.)
Second time i didn't.
Now i don't want to flash my rom AGAIN
Is there any way for me to get those tweaks again. OR even is that possible those tweaks were THAT important.
My phone feels like **** now. Please point me towards somewhere.
I've installed Watchdog and there are no apps that hogs my cpu. So i think my performance issue lies somewhere else.
- Note: My account is new, so i couldn't posted to the rom's thread. (Also couldn't able to find an Official Q&A thread.)
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE
I was poking around and i found out if i disable HW Overlay from Developer options flickering issue goes away and it "seems" like i have less lag.
But what i've read about this option tells me to not disable it because HW overlay is good for performance & battery. Should i disable it. Or does my ROM requires HW to be disableD?

Having a minor problem similar to the above thread - icons disappear from home screen after reboot for apps on sdcard.
I changed launchers from trebuchet and this seems to have remedied the problem for the time being for any other launcher so far.
The thread above suggests launcher change is only a temp remedy and unchecking fast boot android setting may help too.
But that setting is missing in cm11-0712 - anyone know if this setting still exists or where one may find it?
Thread above also suggests real issue requires an added flash of Convert2ext4 which is prob too complicated for me to understand at this point and so I wouldn't try it without more study - not even sure if this particular flash would play right with my current ROM.
Anyone else with this same problem?

Just out of curiosity - if I full wipe (i think full wipe means in cwm to do factory/data wipe & cache wipe & format system & dalvik cache wipe) and then attempt to reflash the same rom cm11_0712 - would I have to restart from scratch meaning cm9 to cm10 to cm11_0712 or can I just push cm11_0712 directly? I am asking because I think cm11 already contains a kernel embedded so this might work directly?
Then of course I would have to restore my apps from TB which I'm still working on learning how to do. But am interested in poss increasing performance by turning on ART so I'd want to turn on ART first thing and then one by one restore my apps+data. Would this also work? Or is it not advisable to restore from backups with data from before ART was enabled?
Could I poss also restore some system data like launcher & live wallpaper data settings at this point without being too destructive?
I don't think you have to start over from CM 9, unless you're coming from q stock ROM, which you aren't. But yeah, just do a full wipe and reflash CM 11. As for ART, I wouldn't recommend using it until there is CM for Android L. Oh yeah, and restore your apps BEFORE you convert to ART if you haven't ever messed around with it before. Your device will automatically do the conversion from Dalvik to ART once you enable ART in Developer Options, then you will be able to mess around with it. Hope this helps

Yes, thanks. Perhaps ART is alittle too much to bite off for now and will wait. Since my other thread talks about FC's, I was thinking ART might help too but better instead to just direct re-flash cm11 fresh vs update flash (what I had been doing and redoing). Everyone's tips very helpful too.
Just a quick update - for other reasons, I reflashed cm11 fresh (full wipe) and restored apps from TB backups. The trebuchet home screen icons still disappeared for sdcard installed apps but also poor battery life returned too. Tried to mess with settings again to save more battery life but not so good battery & this compelled me to switch to carbon ROM fresh install as a new try out.
This now has launcher3 & home icons disappear too & the few battery saving settings get the battery life to pretty good. So going to stick around with carbon for a while for now - many more settings in carbon too if that appeals. As for the icons disappearing root cause still not sure exactly but at least carbon seems to support std fix also used with cm11 to change launchers to something else. Am using smart launcher instead and home icons don't disappear with it.

Is anyone else having issues with the system force closing with the fault "android. com UI has stopped"or something to that effect? It's too the point where when it happens, you can't even clear it with wiping both caches. When I install any rom, I always do full wipes of everything including system and data. Sometimes I will also wipe internal SD.
I thought it was a conflict with Google apps so I started to do installs of all the none touchwiz roms on this forum and keeping track of what I loaded and didn't load. What I found was, that nothing was consistent. This is really starting to bug me and I'm thinking that it may be my phone causing the issues and not the roms.
I have tried both TWRP and CWM recoveries and it is the same with both.
The last flash with CM11, I installed PA gapps nano and did not let Google restore my apps for me. After install, I rebooted, let the rom sit for about 10 minutes to settle in, and the went into settings to set the phone up. When I moved the clock to center, I got the fault and couldn't go any further.
Any ideas?
