Do you get a charging led when you plug it into the wall? If no, then your battery is toast or you're bricked. what was the phone doing when you pulled the battery?

If you don't get a charging light when plugged into the wall then you might indeed be bricked. I'm not sure what else you should try. No charge LED usually means it's a brick. Good luck, wish I had more help to offer sure ya.

Not sure exactly what you are saying but can you boot into bootloader at all?
Had similar problem with cwm ...my battery died yesterday ....when I got home and put it on charge it just wouldn't....so this morning took it to car phonewarehouse to change it they told me the battery was completely dead with no voltages in it. Maybe this can help solve cwm problem !

Your battery may not be dead!
There is a known issue with GSM version on ClockworkMod Recovery, if you let the battery drain completely and the phone shuts down it will not charge even after a battery pull. The solution is to leave the battery out of the phone for 10 or 20 minutes and then put battery back into phone and boot into recovery with the volume & down power buttons. Once in recovery, let it charge for a half hour or so, then normal reboot. It has worked twice for me.
Hope this helps.
If your computer reads the phone in adb your not bricked. If you were bricked your phone wouldn't communicate with your computer at all. You probably just need another battery. Before doing that, see if you can boot in to recovery by pressing volume down (without letting it go), while repeatedly pressing the power button until it comes. If it doesn't come on try a new battery.
Just for future references, don't EVER pull battery while the bootloader is doing its thing. Once you "F" up your bootloader, your screwed. Then you'll definitely have a brick.

Long story short, I am reviving my Rezound after being stuck in the re-boot loop problem.
Using the volume-down + power key combo does not work.
I can connect via adb. running adb devices shows it is connected and in recovery. Running get-state however is shown as unknown.
Running adb reboot recovery or bootloader cycles the phone back to a dead state, no HTC screen ever pops, and adb device is listed once again as in recovery.
I can use the adb shell command.
I am s=on with cwm recovery. I would like to flash to amonra, but with out being able to get to fastboot it will be a little bit hard.
Please help guys! I am going nuts here!

OK. Evidently my once full battery has now been run down too far to make anything of import happen. Right now I am without a ROM installed, and so no charging is happening. Is there a way to let the battery charge in the device? Right now the red light comes on and then goes off. Should I just get an external battery charger?

when battery is close to zero the light will blink 5 sec on 5 off. once it goes solid you can try again but this is normal.
I have a htc evo 3D GSM device with
hboot 1.49.0007 and S-OFF
Yesterday i formatted the SD Card and i had some problems with it but i restored my stock rom through a nand backup
Today i had some problems while flashing SAD ICS ROM , i had clockworkmod recovery
I downloaded TWRP recovery and flashed it through clockworkmod
then i rebooted my phone to recovery and thats when my phone turned off and its refusing to turn on or charge (but Im sure that the battery is alive and the charger is not corrupt {i tried 4 different chargers })
I tried every single way on the internet but nothing works (i tried camera + power / i tried power for 15 secs without battery then putting battery back /i tried adb reboot-bootloader/i tried power+ vol down)
so i believe my device is BRICKED
please help me if there's anything i can try
and Thanks

pull the battery out wait 10 seconds then put it back in ...now watch the red led light closely... try to turn th device on... does a faint red light appear then vanish? is so that is your phone trying to load the EMMC, kind of like the bios loading on a computer... if it does nothing after that youre most likely bricked... if you go to the CDMA development section for evo 3d';s there is a toolkit that you can use to unbrick your device...post back and let me know...also do not try the toolkit if youre a GSM phone...youll have to browse that section then for a tool to help you ...

Did you ever figure it out?
Same thing happened to my phone this morning (I'm rooted, but still S-ON and hadn't tried anything lately). My battery was dying so I plugged it in on the car ride home, and when I stopped it was off and wouldn't turn on.
After an unsuccessful CWM flashing attempt, my phone it getting the infamous "SECURITY ERROR" message. Now, I tried the offline KDZ method, but like many other JB users, the flashing got stuck at 15%. So, finally I decided to use the online flashing method using the new LG Support Tool. But the sad part is that I am suffering from a low battery issue.
So, does anyone know how to charge a soft bricked Optimus L9?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
I'm just guessing but you could try removing battery for 15-20 sec then inserting it and connecting your phone to charger. If that doesn't work, try installing x and u using fastboot that try same process with removing battery...
You can always use another phone to charge your battery

I tried the fastboot method too, but I face a problem while doing it. The OAMP device which shows in the devices manager keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. So then I unplugged the USB and clicked on "show hidden devices" and then installed the drivers by clicking on the OAMP shown there. But when I plug in the USB again, the same reconnecting starts happening. Do you know a solution to this?
You should follow this post...
Connecting and disconnecting of OMAP device is normal, but it is important that it's recognized in device manager...
FINALLY UNBRICKED....
Sincere thanks to all those wonderful people who have made so many tutorials. I failed to do the offline KDZ flash as well as the fastboot method (as I have mentioned above). But anyway, I did unbrick my phone. I flashed using the online method as follows:
Download the latest LG Mobile Support Tool.
Connect your phone in "Software Upgrade" mode (by holding the Vol UP button while connecting the USB).
In the LG Tool, click on "Options > Recovery". Getting the recovery to open is a confusing task. You have to fiddle around with the USB Drivers options a bit.
Now, let the LG Tool do it's magic [In my case, it downloaded a 592MB file]
CAUTION: When the upgrade tool is in it's last stage, the phone will restart at around 93%. When it restarts, you quickly need to press and hold the Vol UP button to again enter the "Software Upgrade" mode, otherwise the upgrade will not succeed and you will get an error. If you get that error message, don't worry, the Tool will tell you how to "RETRY" (don't worry, no file will be downloaded from the internet this time )
REGARDING THE BATTERY ISSUE:
When my phone got bricked it was at around 65%. Now, when I finally unbricked it, I am seeing 83%!! So, either the phone charged when it was connected in the "Software Upgrade" mode, or it charged when I plugged the charger in the wall socket for half an hour. In any case, if your battery is dead (and phone is bricked) try to charge using a wall socket first. When you do this, the phone will automatically switch on and you will again get that sad "SECURITY ERROR" message. Just switch off the phone when you get this. Let the phone be plugged in for some time to let it charge. [NOW I AM NOT SAYING THAT IT WILL CHARGE AS I HAVE MENTIONED THE TWO POSSIBLE WAYS ABOVE, but hey, it's worth a try!] If your phone switches on, good job! Otherwise, try to charge via the USB by connecting to your PC/Laptop by going into "Software Upgrade" mode.
I just hope that the above points will help some unlucky soul who was stuck like me Remember, never give up!
Thanks to all for the tips my optimus was running fine at about 65 percent charged and just shut off. I bought a new battery charged all night in the wall still nothing. I can't get my computer to see it. when i hold power and vol down I can hear the computer make sounds like it recognizes it though

Use fastboot from here. You have here how to install fastboot drives. Then follow instructions from this page.
Read instructions carefully and you should be able to successfully unbrick your phone.
Hello to all!!!
I have a problem with my XPERIA P(not rooted or unlocked), it wont boot if the cable is on the phone(pc or wall charger) and doesent even charge. When tryong to boot it shows only the SONY logo, not even xperia(which comes right after sony).
Tried getting into flash mode or fastboot mode, but it is the same thing.
If i switch on my phone with no cable plugged it starts normally.
When this happened i had no battery at all. After searching the web i found a guide to open my phone and remove the battery connector. After removing it and plugging back again it started charging. Now it wont charge anymore that way.
EDIT: Mac wont recognize it anymore(mac bridge, flashtool, adb)
Does anyone have an idea?
Thanks!

Try flashing the phone with stock ftf file via flash tool , you can find plenty of how to videos for that on internet . Your phone will be fine I guess
Search "Your phone model " "version" "stock ftf" download and flash it

The problem is my phone wont stay in flash mode. It shows up the green led just for a sec and then tries too boot up normaly(green led turns red and shows sony logo) then it shuts down again...
Same for fastboot mode (blue led for 1 sec then again red).
Any idea?
Thanx in advance
@aserreqi
The disconnection issue is driver related. Use windows 7/xp (friends computer) install flashtool and then install the driver pack located in it. Then flash stock ftf.
Before this charge your phone overnight.

I had similar kind of issue , phones doesnt stay in flash mode when it should but I managed to get into fastboot mode , IT DID STAY THERE for me and I flashed some other kernel to make it work for few mins as I only wanted flashmode to work which it did . Try charging your phone for 2 hours and grab any kernel which is said to be fine with your phone , either ways you only need flashmode to work. If fastboot is also disconecting even after you have charged your phone umm DRIVERS DRIVERS !
Make sure you have all the drivers installed I always use flashtool, nothing else to flash

I have charged my phone now for 3 hours. The only way i get to charge now is discharging the battery to 0. I have to put it on charge(wall charger) pull off the connector of the battery and then put it again on.
If the phone is a little charged and i turn it on it wont charge any more. No charger or pc works.
I tried again the procedure of getting into fastboot or flash mode, but still nothing happens.
Green or blue led for a sec then tries to boot again.
I forgot to mention that the phone works like normal when not in charge, it boots normally and everything works fine...
P.S. the drivers are installed. I installed them again and again.
Thanx for your help anyway!!

First try volume up + power for about 15 seconds untill you feel (1+) 3 vibrations to turn it off.
Then try flashmode.

Hello,
I've bricked my phone after a TRWP recovery. I've tried the solution provided on the forum (wait until the battery dies, unplug the battery....). Nothing worked.
I've tried to connect my phone to the PC and it cannot be detected. I have flashing red light when first connected and after few seconds a constant red light that stay for 30 seconds and flashing red light again.
I've tried to use adb devices command and nothing shows up. On linux, I've did "lsusb" command and the phone didn't show up.
Is that my device definitively broken or there is still option that I didn't explore?
Thanks for your support
Once time this happened to me but with my Z1, after desperately search for a solution and read many tutorials, the only solution was reinstall all drivers and connect device to be repaired with Sony Pc Companion, but is necessary have some of battery, if you drained completely, then charge it at least 50%
This works for me, and maybe works now, as long you device led indicator works and Pc sounds when plug in USB, then there's hope.
As @BalamXDroidhe said, charge your phone, put it off and try the program Pc Companion or Xperia Companion, but DO NOT WAIT for the computer to recognize the phone, why still remains the operating system is not loaded.
Just go to repair the software and i believe that everything will be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I did try Sony companion. Unfortunatly this is not the software that is not recognizing the device, the computer itself don't shows any Z2 on USB port. Furthermore, I went to a repair shop and said that the battery is not charging at all. A mother board problem to his point of view.
I'm afraid that is not much to be done at this stage
If you have any suggestion....
Thanks
first of all you need to charge the battery or swap it with another one if the phone isn't charging it at all. then try to boot the phone in flash mode with flashtools in order to try to flash a new .ftf (use the guide below for flashtools).
http://www.gizmobolt.com/2015/04/09...z3-23-1-a-0-690-ftf-using-flashtool-manually/
This is the first step to do in a such situation.

Never wait until the battery dies, that is not wise at all.
How did you unplug the battery? You completely disassembled the device? That is not wise at all.
You should have simply pressed Vol up plus power for 3 seconds, that would have forced a power disconnect. It is that easy.
The 2 things you did are somewhere close to the worst things to do when your device has a problem.
You could try a charged battery from another device as said but you will likely physically damage the device when you open it. or simply leave on wall charger for a few hours and see if it can charge.
Ensure your USB cable is a "data" USB cable, not a cheapo charge only cable.
Even try another windows computer.
May I ask how did you brick your device? What did you do in recovery?

Hello,
I've had a problem while updating a custom ROM and I had to restart the rooting process from scratch. All went well (Kit kat install, rooting, TRWP install) until I've used a previous TRWP backup. Since then, only red light
Is there an hardware problem occured at the same time that I flashed the device... Very unlikly. My feeling is that the kernel is corrupted and don't allow the device to start the early stage boot and so no more charging and no connection possible. It's just a feeling.

What do you mean by "after a TWRP recovery"?
Your bootloader is locked or unlocked?
Use a wall charger to charge your phone.
Hello,
"Never wait until the battery dies, that is not wise at all." => I did not at a first, I've tried to flash with flash tool the stock rom with roughly 80% battery. The phone was already not detected by computer ( I tried Linux, Windows 8 and Windows 7 computer).
"How did you unplug the battery? You completely disassembled the device? That is not wise at all.
You should have simply pressed Vol up plus power for 3 seconds, that would have forced a power disconnect. It is that easy. "
=> I couldn't agree more that is not wise to disassemble the device, I've done it after I tried the Vol up+ power technique.
"The 2 things you did are somewhere close to the worst things to do when your device has a problem." => The next time...
"You could try a charged battery from another device as said but you will likely physically damage the device when you open it. or simply leave on wall charger for a few hours and see if it can charge." => No charge at all over night with genuine Sony charger and cable. I brought it to a repair shop and with a magnetic charger, not better.
Thanks for your reply.
"What do you mean by "after a TWRP recovery"?" => I've made a backup before flashing my custom rom, just in case. As I said, the rooting process went well until I launch the backup recovery.
"Your bootloader is locked or unlocked?" I'm afraid that is the step I've missed after flashing KitKat and rooting. Is that possible that locked bootloader can lead to that mess?
"Use a wall charger to charge your phone" => No charge, just blinking red light even with battery level at least 50%.
Thanks for your reply.
Same thing happened to me. My phone got bricked.
Its not androxide flashtool or sony companion
Use this.
Its official sony xperia flashtool.
Its called 'Emma'

Hello,
I also tried Emma without any success.
Thanks again
The exact same thing happened to me when i flashed a kernel, what i did, was just open xperia companion, click on repair software, and follow the instructions, connecting in flash mode and that stuff, and boila, brand new. i almost cried when that happened to me tho:crying:
it seems that you are using locked bootloader phone, and flashed custom kernel or twrp image, can you connect in fastbooot mood of in flash mood? (by pressing vol+ and connecting usb or vol- and connecting usb respectively),
