Just got a new android tablet, an Iview 710TPC.
There does not seem to be a built in calendar app. Does anyone know where to find it or how to install it? I have tried installing several calendar apps, but they will not sync with google calendar. The manual and product website are no help.
Thanks
I'm not familiar with that tablet, but everything that I researched says that it does have a built in calendar. I'll keep looking for you though.

Any chance of getting google calendar loaded and working on manual nootered 1.2?
Any other apps that will sync?
Thanks.
Both Calengoo and Business Calendar sync nicely. Bus. Cal. was Amazon's free app a couple of days ago - I like it for its Widgets.

Business calendar free shows no calendars to select. Don't want to spend the money to see if calengoo works.
Anyone have calengoo working on nootered 1.2?
You need to have gapPS installed or you winner have the calendar sync file
From 1.2 Nook Color
So excuse me if this is a lame question but is the gapPS file safe to load on a ManualNooter NC with 1.2.0?
I posted this the other day in the "General" forum,
"I did do a search for this issue and there are other folks having this issue in the Development Forum, but I can't post on that forum. Used ManualNooter 4.4.27 for 1.2.0 (worked great by the way! Thanks). I can not figure out how to get my google calendar to sync. I have tried the "add account" again procedure, didn't work. Won't accept a dup. account (never had that popup before). I have tried deleting my gmail acct in the new NC stock email app. and that didn't help. Went in to Nook Color Tools, to Manage Apps and cleared defaults and data, didn't help. Anyone have any idea? Oh yeah when I go to gmail, accounts, account settings and click settings for gmail, under Data & synchronization, syn calendar is not listed. Thanks!"
I haven't gotten a fix for this problem yet. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.
I found my solution using:

GalenGoo works great
Just loaded it onto our nookcolor. Great improvement over Jorte.
For more info go to calengoo.dgunia.de/Start.html (It's for the iPhone version but is the same on Android).

No, you must manually copy or push the individual files over to the system /app folder.
From 1.2 Nook Color
Do you know where I can get the needed files?
Also Calengoo works, thanks, but I'd like to see my google calendar sync working as usual through the system software.
Thanks, CalenGoo works, seems to be a good app.

Hello! I'm a new Android user but I don't want to share my personal data with google. Is it a way to run android calendar instead of Google calendar on a 2.3.7 CyanogenMod Rom?
I've downloaded several other calendar apps (Jorte, Calendroid, FliqAgenda, GeminiCalendar, BusinessCalendar) but none could help me to store my appointments on a local database that I could retrieve with MyPhoneExplorer.
Any clue?
Nobody can help?
Export data from your google acc, and import to my phone explorer.
Sent using Tt.
Thanks for your reply. But I don't understand how this can solve my problem.
It seems there is no android calendar provider on CM ROMs, only Google one. When entering a new appointment I only have the choice between Exchange and Google. My data are already in the PC and managed by MyPhoneExplorer. I've erased all the data from my Google account I don't want to register to Google to be able to use my phone, I don't have to. I refuse their privacy policy.
On LG genuine ROMS we had android Mail and GMail, android Calendar and Google Calendar we could live without a Google account, the same on derivated ROMs like EleganceSwift 5.0 if I remember.
Hm, sorry for misanderstending.

You can try the calendar app from miui rom.,...looking for a solution myself.my tablet is aosp so the options are limited to Google or exchange whereas my phone I could just sync using outlook
I have 3/4 different calendars (I believe - Go Calendar Widget, Smooth Calendar, Calendar, CalendarProvider) installed yet if I try to use any of them I get "! No Calendars You have no Calendars". I'm not rooted, still at 1.40, Google Services Framework. At this point I don't have to have it sync with Google calendars though it would be nice, I would just like a working calendar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Should've got gapps. You need calendar provider in gaps to sync with Google calendar.

Thank you for your help.
Can this be installed on an un-rooted NT? I thought it was only for rooted. Also which should I get there are lots listed at http://goo-inside.me/gapps/? Right now I have my wi-fi off and doing sideloading.
Thanks again.
random, but is there any way to get calendar syncing on here without root?
Hello,
I have an unbranded German S II. Since updating to Android 4.0.3 (through Samsung Kies), the standard calendar widget doesn't work like it used to anymore.
I synchronize with my Google account where I have multiple different calendars for different purposes (work, freetime, projects, etc.). On my phone I can go into the calendar app's configuration and tick the boxes of those calendars I want to have synchronized and shown. It used to work like that and I could make it so that only my work appointments would be shown on the calendar widget on my homescreen.
Now, after updating to ICS, the calendar widget will show all calendars at all times, rendering it less useful. No amount of fiddling with the properties has corrected this. After asking in two other forums, this is my last hope.
I really hope somebody here knows the problem and might be able to help. Or is this really just me? Thanks in advance!
I don't have a direct answer to your question, but if the stock calendar widget isn't behaving how you'd like it to, there's a Play Store brimming with alternatives. I'm sure at least one will function in the way you're hoping.
Yeah, I know. I don't need any fancy, skinnable, customizable calendar apps that fill the android market. I'd rather have the stock widget that just does what I want it to. Seeing as this worked fine before the update, I hoped there was something I could do. Alas, seems as if that is not the case. Thanks though
Hello, i have exactly the same problem. Did you find any solution ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
It's good to hear someone finally acknowledging the problem. I was starting to question my sanity as it seems that out of millions of owners of the SII only I have the problem. Finally someone else speaks up, thank you for that
Sadly, I have not found a solution since. I completely changed the way I organize my events in google calendar. It's not as well organized as it was before but it gets the job done. Still, I would prefer if the calendar worked like it did before...
If you don't want to redo your whole google calendar organization, I guess you could indeed try a third party calendar. The play store is full of calendar apps; I was overwhelmed, because I just want a simple and clean calendar, like the stock one.

When you select the widget, you should be prompted to select which calaendar to display. If it doesn't, check out this alternative widget. You can still use your default calendar, but use this widget instead of the stock:

Hello,
The S3 comes with a calendar that support events and tasks.
The event are synced just fine with google calendar. However, the S3 tasks are not being synced at all to google calendar/tasks. From the other direction, google tasks are not being synced to the S3 calendar...
Is there a way to make them sync?
Thanks
I need the same.. ¿¿any suggestion??
Can anyone help with this issue, or come up with an alternative?
I'm sure a solution will help many users...
Thanks
seems to be an omission of functionality with the S3, I investigated this and couldnt find a solution. Ended up using "CalenGoo" instead which does sync calendar and tasks.
A real pity
Thanks, I will try calenGoo. It's more expensive than other calendar apps, but if you say it's good I will go for it.
