The order of the volume up and down buttons is driving me crazy, I keep thinking that they are the opposite because i'm used to my Epic 4g Touch. Is there any mod to swap them?

My power button is acting like its being pushed 2x every time i hit it. I turn my screen on and it turns it off. Is this a known issue? Lets hope not a hardware failure because of 1.5.

This happens to me as well. I don't think it's software, as it happens in recovery as well. I've accidentally formatted as a result.
Same. Not the format but came close to flashing a mod ghastly isn't supported by the phone. ****ty button design if you ask me. Volume rocker is a ***** to use. And the power is too sensitive and finicky
Hi all,
I have the same issue also. Anybody already resolved this issue? Thnx!
the og evo's power button and rockers were perfect. Pretty amazing that they made both worse for the 3d. That power button sometimes makes me want to switch phones. Awful. How that made it out of testing I have no idea.
Seems to have been a software problem. I get this problem only on certain tons.

So with my cumutter case my phone is resetting in my pocket.. I thought there was a thread on this but I could not find it.... Instead of modifying the phone is there a way to make the power button not turn the phone off when held down??

1) How is changing what the power button does not modifying your phone?
2) If your phone needs a "battery pull", how would you do that? Your phone would be screwed man.

Are you talking about the button remapper app? Link below

To do a hard reset you wod need to hold the power and volume down button.... So I think that would be fine.
What I want is for the phone to still turn on and off the screen with the button but when you hold it down for a few seconds I don't want it to automatically turn off.... I just want that option shut down... I can download a wigit for power options...
Also the thread I was referring to was about actually modifying the power button... Not the software.

The only non-rooted options for the power button is to make it end a call. Also, holding it down for about 10 seconds gets you a soft reset

I am stock rooted.... How can I change this rooted???
And that's what I am saying.. I don't want it to soft reset when held down.

So my wife pulled her phone out of her pocket and her LTE was stuck like this.
Can't do a reset or anything. Anyone else have this happen?? On the way to a Sprint store now.

i'll be honest..... doesn't look good........
on the 3D you could hold the 2 volume buttons, then the power button until the device reset. not sure if that trick is still available. give it a shot.
That looks like the beginning of the ole shut down/screen off animation.
Regardless, holding the power button down should reboot the phone. Assuming everything comes back up alright.
If you hold the power button for an extended period of time it will simulate a battery pull.

Be careful that this isn't the next thing that happens:
You need to hold the power and volume down button.

Tried them all......hold power button down for 30 seconds to simulate battery pull and power button with volume down. Both restarted right back to pixeled screen. Sprint rep called it "garbled" just now. They had no idea and hadn't seen it. Will see in an hour......

That suck, hope they are able to fix it for you.

They were not sure and were able to replace the screen. Wife was thankful so she didn't lose all her customization and info.
Strange, but resolved quickly!
Thanks everyone.

They actually replaced the screen??
Yep, replaced the screen.

That doesn't look like an LCD problem to me... unless the connector was borked.
Ive seen that screen on my EVO shift long ago. More than once and I had to battery pull to fix it.
So, I'm scrolling through my text messages (I have a lot), and I noticed that as you keep scrolling past the bottom of the screen, it still recognizes through the capacitive buttons...
To demonstrate, try this:
Open your messages application. Don't open any of the text messages themselves, but try and drag down (like you're moving up) the second to last message thread in your messages and watch as it continues to spring past the bottom of the screen into the capacitive buttons...
I'm wondering if there is still screen real-estate there, and they covered the actual ICS buttons with black paint and their own "capacitive" buttons.
Thoughts?

Weird...
MIND=BLOWN
You know the capacitive surface is in the glass and not the lcd, so the capacitive area of the buttons is the same as the screen. HTC just made sure to code it to read as one area through scrolling.

This is how all the phones I've used have worked, even back to my TouchPro2 with a resistive screen and that zoom bar underneath. The capacitive sensor is simply larger than the screen to include the buttons.

Same on the EVO 3d
Wow, never noticed this b/f!

You cant really swype there, android just makes it seem that way
Yes we have the largest screen at 5.25ish inches. Take that samsung note!

The OG Evo worked that way as well.

Hmmm... If that area is in reality just an extension of the mapped/mappable capacitive sensor would that in theory mean that additional buttons and/or gestures could be put down there?
Interesting. My Galaxy Nexus doesn't do this.

You don't have capacitive buttons...
I didn't notice that before. Very interesting! I hope that means we can increase the capacitive back button virtual size. I keep missing it since the spacing is different than my ns4g...
Wow really interesting...never noticed it

If you have used the pokemon rom you will notice under tweaks that this already happens. For instance they are used to unlock the screen if you swipe from the back button towards the recent apps button.

Hi guys,
Got my new Z2 today and really happy with it except for one thing - the volume rocker seems faulty. The top half 'clicks' when increasing volume but when lowering it, it doesn't click, it's just smooth. Any of you have this issue? Deliberating over whether to take it back for replacement.
Thanks.
Does your power button click?

Yes

Like a software sound? Or a hardware sound?
Not software, it's a physical sensation you can feel. It feels almost as though it sticks and you don't feel a 'click'.
Sorry if I'm not explaining it correctly!
