I have spent many hours trying to get this phone rooted and nothing seems to work i have prob tried everybody rooting method out there. Im actually doing this for one of my family members and it really sucks to be him because he bought the phone first thing to be done was the root and i cant find a way to do it so if anybody has found a way PLZZ help. Phone is on 2.11.605.5 I dont know if u have to downgrade or what has to done.
Have you tried the revolutionary method? If you are in fact still at 605.5 it will work.
A quick Google search will turn that up for you.

Root

Just bought a transformer prime and i am trying to root this damn thing but i really don´t know.
The tf101 was so easy but now with this i really don´t understand how to.
I have 9.4.2.21 version and it looks like i need to downgrade.
I´ve downloaded version 9.4.2.15 but i can´t find anything on how to downgrade a proper root.
Can anyone give me a hand??
Thanks in advance.
Seriously use the search. There is a thread on downgrading. Most will get mad on questions like this without even trying to look.

Check out this whole thread, most importantly the original post. But there is a one click method that i used that allows you to downgrade and root.
Good Luck
Thank you very much. I read that post ,but since i had downloaded version 4.6 and didn´t have the option to downgrade, i didn´t download 4.5 to check it.

[Q] HBOOT-Recovery??

Hi there! Just now I bought a new HTC Flyer 16GB wifi only, I just want to root it and s-off, im very sorry to all who will be reading it but I just want to know what is the latest HBOOT and Recovery for HTC Flyer WIFI. i just already updated it over the air into Honeycomb 3.2 and I feel my device is so laggy.I've got confused in some of the instruction there in the thread and i'm asking your kind heart if you can help me to know and to got the correct version / links so I can root it rightly. Is there no possibility for me to brick it? and if I brick it, it's easy to unbrick it or not? Thank you very much for your kind help and I really apppreciate all the help that you can share. Thank you very much and sorry for my awful question
Your goal is back to gb?
if ever i root my device? is it possible also to install custom rom with Ginger bread version even though im in Honeycomb official version?
Not without downgrading your hboot
Flyer
so it means i can only install Honeycomb custom ROM unless i will downgrade my hboot, if ever i downgrade my hboot, both HC and GB I can install?
by the way thanks for the info.
Just check out kevinrocksman multi toolkit
I would rather use telepathy but I'm stuck in a Dark Age.
thanks for the info i'll try to google it,and one more thing, can anyone tell me what is the latest hboot for honeycomb? sorry just a noob for this kind
He has Flyer not View.
To run HC u need HC hboot. To run GB u need GB hboot. So whenever u want to migrate from one to another u not onlly need to change rom but Hboot as well.
To perma root it u have 2 choices Soff method via revolutionary or HTC unlock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307759 To get Soff and root on GB from your curent HC.
Thank you so much for the guide, I will follow what you instructed, One more question, if ever there's a tendency to brick it, is it easy also to unbrick the device? Actually this is the first time i will root a device, my evo3d was rooted by my friend and he is out there to help me. Thanks again for your kind help
I seen people being stuck at diferent steps/results and i belive most were resolved by experienced ppl on this forum (points at globathron for example)
Sorry my bad I've been stuck w no hboot on the View all day lost focus.
I would rather use telepathy but I'm stuck in a Dark Age.

The answer lies entirely on which build version is in the phone. The only known rootable version is 2.17.605.2 (a.k.a the "First OTA").
If your phone(s) have this build, do NOT allow the latest OTA to install. Root them immediately. Several methods are available, just refer to the resource index for your desired method. I highly recommend s-off, regardless of which method you choose.
If you have the prior build version, 1.43.605.3, then MANUALLY install the 2.17.605.2. RUU, Root immediately thereafter. Make sure you kill the ability for the OTA to be checked/installed.
If you have the latest version, 2.19.605.2, it is unknown at this time how to root...
