[MIUI]datafix,oc,performance - XPERIA X10 Android Development

Hi people,i give you my tips for your MIUI rom.
-------------------
Datadrop:
-----
I edit this topic,
cause lot of People
have confusion with it
This setting solve only the signal lost
caused by signal reset,
due to new carrier operator network
(4G lte) but not for 3g 2g switch.
sorry for not explain before.
go in build.prop
Verify if this line is correct just in case
ro.product.model=X10
ro.product.brand=SEMC
After that replace
hsxpa=1 by =3
1,drop come in 30min
2,drop come in 3 day but
reconnect After few minutes but stay on 3G switch
3 no drop for now,
or reconnect perfect on H
Problem solved
I suggest to add this line
keyguard.no_require_sim=true
ro.ril.hep=1
ro.ril.hsdpa.category=8<1...
ro.ril.hsupa.category=5<1...
But this line cause problem to switch off data on miui 1.8.12
then if you have that,
just remove ro.ril line
and reboot
go xrec and clear dalvik cache
And set 3Gonly in network setting
But not necessary
chose plan you like
-------------------------
Zdzihu.oc:
you need file that you find in this topic
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1223027
Pfff can't put link correctly I'm on my phone and reduce xda app just copy it,I'm not familiar with that. sorry lol
------------------
1
Put in,
system,lib,modules.
zdzihu.oc.ko
tun.ko
cpufreq_smartass2.ko
cpufreq_interactive.ko
cpufreq_minmax.ko
smartass_zmod.ko
And give permission.
File needed for OC is
tun.ko and zdzihu_oc.ko,
another is for governor but work fine with default governor and for sure
keep at boot :-},
but sometimes when phone go to sleep,then it switch to 998.
just go in widget cpumaster
and set it again.
it's cool cause your battery have more life.
I said just sometime,all the time it stay with 1113 and sleep at 245 so totally normal deepsleep ;-)
---------------------
2
go in
system,etc,ini.d,then open 60tripnraver script and put this at the end,just quote it
## zdzihu: "stuck at 1GHz" workaround
echo 100000 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate;
## zdzihu: modules
insmod /system/lib/modules/tun.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/zdzihu_oc.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_smartass2.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_interactive.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/cpufreq_minmax.ko
insmod /system/lib/modules/smartass_zmod.ko;
All modules you see in,you need to have it for governor
but if don't want all gov then remove modules gov line you not
want or have
Reboot,go xrec,wipe cache,dalvik
Reboot
Use cpumaster widget
for set gov and frequency
If you not have tripscript then find in your miui rom tread what is the file do script at boot
-------------------------
Chargemon and home tweak:
Just add this line in build.prop
debug.sf.hw=1
video.accelerate.hw=1
persist.chargemon.active=1
Ad this between media
# fix for screen redraw lag
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=-1
#
--------------------------
Bug and bootanimation:
Remove in
system,etc,ini.d,10defaulttheme
if you have it.
This file cause trouble and bug in theme choice and not sure but for me slow the system
Remove in system,media,bootanimation and replace by the bootanim you want
then reboot
go xrec,clear dalvik cache
fix permission,reboot
first boot give some trouble but after it ok
-------------------
I can't give you this before cause i have some trouble in my life and need to go hospital.
but god seem to give me some time again and it ok for now.
so sometime i give you some way but not clear sorry for that.
Miuimusic:
it my original tips see cobrato tread.
Go in equalizer and set it on none then disable it
now freeze gone
For music bug stop And problem you need a file in CM7 that is
libcyanogen-dsp.so
and put it in system,lib,soundfx and give permission
you need DSPmanager in
system,app
I see some pepole want another sms and phone app but have bug,so keep in mind that objective by miui team is give you a rom with all in it and no need anything,but you could try to go phone option and you find,allow 3rd phone apli,then try to set one and see if help but I'm not sure for that.
So time to thank
tripnraver
for
his unfinished buggy rom :-D but sweat and all need in it if you have brain and eyes. lol.
Mine is iris102,miui.1.8.12 and trust me with all tips here it's very fast and all stuff work perfect.
Zdzihu
For module and oc and lot more
And all xda members fot script and module and more.
Ps.i can't attach file cause no internethome just find it in this section and no custom kernel need for all
And be cool with me if you know this or that cause i just want to help
Respect.

Very well, thanks for sharing... MiUi is the ****... lol

Will try this . Thanks.

awesome!!
thank you!!
best regards
chris
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

Merci beaucoup mec!! C'est tres utile! ^^
(thanks a lot its very useful!)

Ok thank happy to help you guys
Another tips for devtool and crash server,
you need to keep devtool from cm7 by z and put in system,app,give permission,reboot
now you could crash server correctly
For server miui security use this
*#*#2432546#*#*
A pop appears to confirm
Miui for ever

I noticed alot of this is already done in erenz 1.9.16. All the governor module stuff is over my head and hard to understand Im using dooms v5 unlocked BL. Bo offense but the language is not easy to understand.
What does persist.chargemon.active=1 do? It was not in my build prop.

If dev include it in your rom then you can charge your phone when it off and no need oc stuff if you on custom kernel just datadrop solution if you have it
Sorry for language but I'm french and it hard to explain technical things in English
I edit OP cause i write it with bad
Font
now i think it's more clear

Another tips
When you switch battery animation to linear,
your 2d performance drop down quadrant score and slow your phone.
Why? I don't know :-D

Thanks for clearing that up, perfect answer! I wasnt bad talking your post I understand people speak different languages, nice post and thanks again! I wish I could speak french I failed it in highschool

as far as i know there should be no need of this:
Code:
persist.chargemon.active=1
as chargemon is explicitly called during booting

well thats just plain weird... offline charging is fairly easy... just move the /system/bin/charger command to the beginning of chargemon file... that should fix offline charging...

The data fix mentioned here, does it solve the changing between 2g/3g disconnect problem or simply restrict the data to 3g only (and reconnect to 3g only when it's lost).
Thanks

with hsxpa=3 reconnect perfect on H or E or 3G no lost signal now and you can chose your data plan,onlyE,only3g,Eand3g,

You right but it's not a fix or bug,and this command is in right place,but on TRIPMIUI rom trip disable it in the build.prop by this line.but on few version it be gone.so for enable it with no command just ad this line for,and most people doesn't know command
But i have a question for you,
on my miui the leds between back and menu is disable,
but i can't find the command or file that execute this.
if you can help it's cool cause the leds stay on when i switch brightness mode
and trip command are not easy to find or change cause I'm noob command :-D
Thanks

problem and workaround on scripts for increase performance

hi to all
for who have try the tweaks on this post:
[TWEAKS][UPDATED 25/03/2011 - 11:03PM GMT+0] Increase performance and battery life
and found that the battery drain down... I disable the following line:
Code:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs;
this line raise the process ksoftirqd at 30% of cpu.
Bye D.
p.s. I write here beacuse I'm not entlited to write in the developers forums.
i also flashed the tweaks from that post, and great work about that.. but i flashed all of them together, and as a noob i dont know how to disable any of them... can somebody explain how to disable a previosly installed tweak? or at least point me in the right direction (forum thread)...
Not easy way

You must use adb in the forum there are a lot of info.
Then edit with vi the file /etc/init.d/90tweakz
to stop execute a line put a the beginning a comment #
important: before start read about how to use vi, isn't easy.
Bye D.
thanks .. I'll try
I tried using direct approach via root explorer ... trying to find every line and change it manually ... the problem is that i don't know what were the previous values ... so i thought i try to uninstall them, but i didn't know how!
Overall the tweaks have boosted my performances on quadrant and linpack but i have a minor lag when scrolling ... also i noticed that some of the tweaks (code) are not where they need to be (or gone)...
Thanks again ... i will try using vi
hah i get it ... i entered the 90tweaks and deleted one of the tweaks ... it was simple ... i didn't understand completely how they are applied previosly so i think i can modify what i want from now on
thanks for the help

I do use this script, and I can say that it is a success!
1.0.2 Using the MiniCM6 Nobodyatall!
One of the best roms in Big X10 xda land "Wolfbreaks" uses this.
I hope the roms here start using it... It rapes!
I must say.. this is works very well on my mini with MiniCM 2.0.5 GingerBread
Before: Active launcher and Zeam launcher is redraw everytime I finish to play NFS Shift or even after I open Application manager
After: No redraw (Active Launcher and Zeam) when finished playing Angry Birds, NFS Shift and other RAM eater games
Great ..
So I tried this script, and now my launcher is hard to kill / supercharged
but then after reboot it still says my launcher is hard to kill, but also that my prior minfrees don't match my current minfrees.
it then shows my curent minfrees as the default minfrees and the prior as what i selected. is that supposed to happen?
I mean exactly as the screenshot moedjs posted
like isn't it supposed to set current minfrees to what i selected, and not to default?

Exactly.. makes multi tasking rock.. keeps the memory free, locks in the home app.
It works badass!
I did not understand the installation
ops , I did find a help, sorry
hey guys, does this works in SE android firmware 2.1?
Another question, in a tutorial it says :
P.S. When Installing Programs, MAKE SURE Script Manager are installed on PHONE and NOT in the MicroSD Card!
I have app2sd installed already , how can I do this? thanks
can someone who tried this give his values and his results?
sounds like a great tool
thnx in advance
I have the same problem as Carpe-Dimi above regarding new minfrees not sticking after reboot, although the Launcher is "Hard to kill".
I used option 6 in the script set up.
I followed help file advice to have Script Manager run /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger "at boot" and "as root" but problem persists.
Otherwise seems to work fine at keeping launcher in memory. I don't see any boost in Quadrant Score... or any other noticeable improvements to be honest.
MiniCM 7 is pretty good as it is
Any advice on settings or getting minfrees to stick?
Anyone know if it works on mini pro?
That number 1-17 is best for my phone?

there are config files in the ramdisk.tar (can't remember name atm, but they are init.rc files) that have lines regarding the setting of ram optimizations.
however. these are definatley meant to do the same as the script, but the values in them don't correspond to the ones the script readsout, so I'm thinking another script runs on top of that which overrides those values again.
that's just a theory tho, since I can't edit the ramdisk file as I dunno how to set the permissions back when unpacking and repacking ramdisk.tar but I'll get back when I find out.
as for the launcher being bulletproof, that definately makes the home button respond a lot faster ^^

Somewhere in the original post it says that in some Custom Roms the minfrees won't stay after reboot so you HAVE TO select 'run at boot' for it to stay.
edit: From original post:
Note: For some reason, the minfree levels do not stick on some Custom ROMs. I don't know why this is. Maybe a bug in GingerBread?
........ You can check /res/user.log to see if it ran...
........ If this happens to you, use Script Manager to load /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger "on boot" and "run as root"
And I also have a question(just like the one 2 above)
What is the best one to choose (1-17)?
ThankYou
I tried:
'........ If this happens to you, use Script Manager to load /system/etc/init.d/99SuperCharger "on boot" and "run as root"'
and still could not get values to stick
Has anyone else tried this and had more luck?
how do you install this.. i could not understand

u r correct...the memory free settings are modified by some file not located in ram disk...i have examined the init.rc files and ramdisk settings are quiet different form the one that is set in the roms during runtime
now only if v knew what that file was!!!
The values are not equal with me, but I noticed a big improvement!
I am using the following values in the original 6,8,16,20,22,60 MiniCM6 Froyo!
It must have some kind of file it impossible values are equal, but it works it works!
I have done for mine and is awesome...

since people do not pay attention at this FAQ linked in miniCM7 first post,
[*]i decided to create a new thread dedicated to Q&A about miniCM7 and nAa's kernel
this thread is the place of your questions, answers, tips about nAa's kernel and miniCM7 by nAa
so please, as usual, read FAQ, use search option or anything else before asking commonly answered questions
the FAQ will be incremented when needed
the Q&A are in random order
before all the Q&A below : one is most important :
in order to install miniCM7 2.1.X you NOW need :
- to read this upgrade guide
- to read that post
- to unlock your bootloader (see also here)
- to flash nAa's kernel for X10mini, for X8, for x10miniPRO
if not, you will brick your phone. -> read this then, that may help you : !!!!
--> i think it is still too small ...
something else that is useful to read before asking :
Here we (nearly all? XDA members, regardless of being devs or only users [like me], me at least ) don't care about your good/bad English the important is trying to be understood and to understand the content of the threads
only ask things you can't find, or you don't understand, please if you don't understand something in any process tell us exactly where is your problem : it will optimize the answer
sometime rephrasing things can make you understand better, feel free to help us for making the most understandable sentence for anybody
i'm always trying to use a proper English (not so easy for a non native English ^^)
but if there's something misunderstood because of my English your are welcome to correct me
BUT if you don't make the effort to read, I won't make the effort to answer (ok, you can't read everything... but read the minimum )
that's it
Instructions regarding miniCM7-2.1.X installation:
Download the latest all-in-one package from the release link that follows
Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
Move the MiniCM7-xxx.zip to the root folder of your sdcard and rename it to update.zip. Optionally, download the suggested Google Apps for CM7 (check http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/ if you want to experiment with other gapps versions)
Unlock your bootloader, if you haven't already, using the stuff in unlock/ folder. Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 for a nice tutorial
Flash the nAa kernel using Flashtool. To to this:
- Turn off your phone
- Start the Flashtool\X10FlashTool.exe and select Flash. Then select the E10_nAaxxx kernel firmware (this flashes both the kernel.sin and the loader.sin)
- Keep the back button pressed while connecting the usb cable. Flashtool should detect your phone and flash the kernel.
- Once done, disconnect the usb cable and power on the phone.
Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM4.x.
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (SUGGESTED)
- Select 'apply update from sdcard'
- Flash gapps
Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
Once your device has booted, you can navigate to CM Settings -> System -> Update notifications and select 'Register'. This way you can get update notifications on new versions of MiniCM7!

FAQ :
for miniCM9 refer to THIS THREAD PLEASE
for quick search, use ctrl+f and enter keyword, you should find an answer to your question
1/ I can’t see incoming call number, what can I do ?
Change CM Settings -> Lockscreen -> Style options -> Incoming call style choose sliding tabs
2/ my LED is not blinking properly is there any way to change that?
If you’re using miniCM 2.0.5 you must delete delete /system/lib/hw/lights.x10mini.so
If you’re using miniCM 2.0.6 & 2.0.7, 2.1.0,2.1.1, 2.1.2or2.1.3 you must delete /system/lib/hw/lights.robyn.so with rootexplorer or any other file manager that allows you to explore and modify root files
handcent led settings does not work properly with lights.robyn.so
of course, you need to reboot your phone after that.
then : After the restart, go to CyanogenMod settings/Interface/LED notifications/Advanced make sure everything is unchecked, select Reset and then reboot again.
of course, you need to reboot your phone after that.
also try this : go to CyanogenMod settings/Interface/LED notifications/Advanced then tick and untick "random colors" this may solve everything if not :
MarkMRL said:
By ticking and unticking everything a few times randomly, I probably triggered the random flag to update correctly, thus fixing the blinking color. Now I can select a color and have it blink normally.

you can"t delete the file? see q33/
REDELETE AFTER EACH UPDATE if you have the same problem SINCE THE FILE IS REWRITTEN
this Q/A2 is also True for all builds of MiniCM9 and 10
3/I want SE stock keyboard on this ROM !!
Just long press on any txt you’re typing on, “choose input method” then choose default input
4/ I’m already running an older version on miniCM7 (2.0.4 for example) do I have to perform a factory reset/ full wipe ?
There’s no need to factory reset in that case
you may have to perform this to avoid performance issue : here
5/ I’m already running an older version on miniCM6 (1.0.2 for example) do I have to perform a factory reset/ full wipe ?
Yes, absolutely, same as if you were under gingerDX, SE stock rom or any other non miniCM7 based. you will loose ALL your data that are on phone memory (sms/mms, contacts, calendar...) if you're sync to a google account, your contacts and calendar should be preserved
q4/ and q5/ : to upgrade from any version of miniCM below 2.1.X you need an unlocked bootloader, and to flash nAa's kernel !
all is explain in the first lines of this post
6/ how can I activate overclock or undervolt ?
Open CMsettings/performances/CPUsettings/ then tick overclock OR undervolt, undervolt is automatically activated with overclock.
Remember not to tick “set on boot” option if you’re trying frequenies upper than 710 that could make your phone unstable or being damaged.
for miniCM7 2.0.6 you also need to flash the module hotfix to see overclock/undervolt working
no need to install that for 2.0.7, see Q 16/
for nAa07+ and miniCM7-2.1.6+, Open CMsettings/performances/CPUsettings/,
Remember not to tick “set on boot” option if you’re trying frequenies upper than 710 that could make your phone unstable or being damaged.
Since OC is now embedded in kernel, no module to enable (so OC option disappeared!), if you want to OC only, just choose the freq, if you want to undervolt too, tick undervolt option !
7/ i'm actually using Xrecovery can i install miniCM7 directly ?
no, you can't, you first need to install clockworkmod recovery from the link given in the first post (put in on the root of your sd card, then reboot to recovery, "install custom zip", reboot : cwm recovery is now installed, you can flash this ROM )
8/ i can't download some apps from the market
download 'market enabler' and select T-mobile Usa as fake provider, then retry to search and download them. that should work
9/ random problems that are unknown for anyody?
reflash the rom, i.e. reinstall the rom zip trough recovery
&/or
first backup, then do a factory reset, or restart from the beginning, it could solve lots of problem (you will loose ALL your data that are on phone memory (sms/mms, contacts, calendar...) if you're sync to a google account, your contacts and calendar should be preserved)
you may have to perform this to avoid performance issue : here
10/ i own a X10miniPRO (u20i) does this ROM suites to this phone?
NO,No, and No this ROM is ONLY for X10mini (e10i/e10a) not for any other phone [a version is also available for X8, in the X8 section.]
edit : there is a version for minPRO available here so the ROM suites to X10mini, X8 and X10miniPRO in their respective version
11/ my battery is draining so fast ... what should i do ?
first calibrate your battery by fully charging your phone, then reboot into recovery, select Advanced/Wipe Battery Stats and then unplug and reboot
if there's no improvement so far
- see if there's app running always in the background
- look in CyanogenMod settings/Interface/LED notifications/Advanced make sure radom is not ticked
12/ i have installed minicm7 when i power on the phone it stuck on cyanogen 7 logo. what should i do.
does your phone comply to the conditions of the first post ?
if yes and if you can access to CWMrecovery, then reflash the rom and/or factory reset (you will loose ALL your data that are on phone memory (sms/mms, contacts, calendar...) if you're sync to a google account, your contacts and calendar should be preserved)
if not or if you can't access to CWM use Sony Ericsson Update Service to recover your phone as if it was out of the box (you will loose ALL your data that are on phone memory (sms/mms, contacts, calendar...) if you're sync to a google account, your contacts and calendar should be preserved)
13/ in the default input method, when i scroll down/up the "-,?,!,@,_ ..." & emoticons menu until it stops itself, the keyboard remains froozen
rotate your screen and this will be fixed, and don't scroll this violently
14/ app2SD and other features aren't working with 2.0.6, why is that?
for miniCM7 2.0.6 you also need to flash the module hotfix to see all the modules working (oc; uv; app2sd...)

16/ i want to install 2.0.7, do I have to install hotfix from 2.0.6?
no you don't : each hotfix is specific of each version
"module hotfix" was for 2.0.6 not 2.0.7
17/ where are market, gmail and other google apps ????
you seem not have read carefully the first post : you need to flash gapps via CWM after flashing the ROM in order to use google services!

there is an app2sd storing to FAT feature.
so you don't need any ext partition
but if you have an ext partition on your SD, then it should be used automatically.

I reply to myself after getting help from matmutant.
I was looking for two different things: Getting the Sony Ericsson menu to the market, and enabling the Road Sync app that's free for SonyEricsson X10 mini users
To enable the SonyEricsson market, you need to edit the /system/build.prop file. Please be careful when you edit the file. If you mess up the file, you might get a phone that you can't boot (this can be fixed, cause i messed up a couple fo times I explain this later).
You can either just change the keys, or do like below: comment the old values with a # as the first char on the row, and write the new below.
Code:
#ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-google
ro.com.google.clientidbase=android-sonyericsson
ro.com.google.clientidbase.yt=android-sonyericsson
ro.com.google.clientidbase.am=android-sonyericsson
ro.com.google.clientidbase.vs=android-sonyericsson
ro.com.google.clientidbase.gmm=android-sonyericsson
For enabling the RoadSync app (or i guess any other app that want's to verify that it's running on a real SE-phone), then do these changes:
Code:
#ro.product.model=X10mini
#ro.product.brand=SE
#ro.product.name=robyn
#ro.product.device=robyn
#ro.product.board=robyn
ro.product.model=E10i
ro.product.brand=SEMC
ro.product.name=E10i_1237-0392
ro.product.device=SonyEricssonE10i
ro.product.board=delta
#ro.product.manufacturer=SE
ro.product.manufacturer=Sony Ericsson
As I mentioned earlier, i messed up the /system/build.prop file at one point. To get this fixed, i just rebootet into recoverymode, and mounted /system. After this i could use adb (found in the android-sdk) to copy back an corrected build.prop (./adb push build.prop /system/build.prop)
I had also an other issue with the android-market app. It crashed and got stuck a couple of times, so i fixed this by uninstalling the recent update from manage applications->All->Market.
I hope my changes don't break anything for the CM7, so please if you know that CM7 needs any of these keys i changed in build.prop, then please inform me

regarding 2.1.0+ and custom kernel :
my phone is laggy with 2.1.0 and crashes when screen goes off
it seems that on some phones, lockscreen is related to phone crash:

To everyone who has the lockscreen crashing problem, just disable it.

Now it won't freeze, but of course you won't have a lockscreen, that could be fixed by downloading a custom lockscreen from market though

for 2.1.0, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3,2.1.4 & 2.1.5 there is no offline charging due to kernel+cwm (not implemented yet ?), as a result, the phone boots up

ferotakis said:
after little talk with one my friend we figure it out why in some provider is asking this code and in some not( like my case)
The reason is: This ROM is not legal I mean the original one from the Sony who before opening to users in theirs regions firs will be sent to operators , operators check it and then when you use for example Vodafone.de Vodafone.de if aprove the Sony ROM send a notification to users for a update is ON. When users updates their phone with the operator passed ROM they can be ''seen'' by the operator what type of phone with what type ot Android they are use and can send them auto setings like the APN MMS and etc.
If you want see the truelles of this just call your operator and ask them for auto APN . Try it if you have x10 mini with stock rom and with x10 mini with this one
In firs one operator say you : Ok i see in system you are using x10 mini vith android 2.1 i will send you the setings . But with this room she/he ask you what type of phone do you use bicoz I cant see it on system.
This is same wit the automated operator menus too : when you pres 4 (for example ) in voice menu and ask for a auto internet setings the autovoice say sorry we not support you phone yet will try again later.
This is not big deal for now bicoz the most of operators APN is already configuret but if you use operator who is not includet you cant use mobile data bicoz you not have APNs.
That is wy this code is asking for when you put some of providers sim some of them make theirs system in that way ... its more easy for them but for us is just annoing popup window

to get Google Maps Precache working with x10mini / e10i
edit your /system/build.prop and add
Code:
ro.opengles.version=131072
I added that line above ro.com.google.locationfeatures=1
- reboot after editing and maybe
- delete app data of maps

it is the led that turns on in white when a kernel panic happens (unix's BSOD [Blue Screen Of Death that happens on windows when a critical hard/software error happens and needs the system to freeze to prevent a data loss)
White Led Of Death is meant to help to see from where comes the bug (i.e. if it comes from kernel : white led!)

Here's a brief explanation for A2SD/DC2SD/Swap:
A2SD/DC2SD only makes sense if you have /data that is over 200MB i.e. many apps.
Swap is useful if you need to run memory-hungry apps or wanna have more apps loaded in memory.
Any size for swap should be good depending on your needs (e.g. 128MB). To verify a2sd is loaded, run df via adb shell. It should show /data/app and /data/app-private mounted in /sd-ext.
Also /data/dalvik-cache should be mounted to /sd-ext/dalvik-cache if DC2SD is chosen.
To verify swap is used, try the command 'free' via adb shell.
None of the above are for the everyday/novice users. You have to know what you are doing.

Why do you want to remove "Engengis"...? This script engine is far superior to anything (script wise) available on XDA & it's stable... Your problem is the options that you chose at setup...

Fix Multitasking and Reduce Lag

I know there are a couple posts out there on how to fix this, but this is one of the most legitimate ways to fix the multitasking issue we have all come to know and hate on Android devices running Sense. If you don't want to install a whole new ROM, such as MEANROM, you don't have to! This is a small guide to using the V6 SuperCharger script by Zeppelinrox. I know the amount of steps seems like a lot, but it's really not that many. Most of the steps will be followed by just reading what you see on the screen and accepting the recommended option!
Zeppelinrox said:
What's it do?
It makes your phone FAST... super snappy with better multitasking!
It rearranges and fixes the OOM Groupings and Priorites and lowmemorykiller values.
So basically, it's a COMPLETE MEMORY MANAGEMENT FIX!
It's the ONLY one of it's kind
NO LAUNCHER REDRAWS, faster than ever, multitasking is better... why?
Because it works with the lowmemorykiller and letting it work the way it's meant to work.
Also, because of the rearrangement, it works the same on all roms!
The problem with using minfree tweakers like AMM or AKMO is that it doesn't work the same on all roms.
Secondary apps may be in slot 3 on some roms but in slot 5 in others!
That's why you hear people comment "I tried AKMO but it didn't do anything..."
Most likely it didn't do anything because the apps weren't sitting where they were expected to be.
So fasten your seat belts and enjoy the ride!

So, everything you need to know or want to know can be found at Zep's original thread here. There is a lot of information, and because he is so technical, I think that sometimes his instructions can be hard to read for some, so I thought I would put together a VERY SIMPLE GUIDE to give you guys a hand. You can find the best instructions from him under Installing/Using.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
On to the instructions...
How To Use Supercharger
Please only proceed if you are rooted and have busybox
Download script manager from the market: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=os.tools.scriptmanager&hl=en
Download zep's latest V6 Script (V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC11_Test_6.sh.pdf): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18703418&postcount=5021
remove the .pdf extension (should now end in .sh) and place on your phone /sdcard (you can use rom tool box or estrongs to rename the file)
At this point, I highly recommend you make a nandroid through TWRP or CWM. The script has a built-in undo feature, which works well, but I still think we all know this is best.
Open up Script manager on your phone. Make sure to check 'Browse as Root' Option
Navigate to the location wher you placed the V6 .sh script
Click the Skull/Crossbones to run as root. This should turn green. NOTE: DON'T USE THE BOOT OPTION
Hit Run
At this point, get ready for an onslaught of text. Don't be afraid and try your best to read even though much of it may not make sense!
You may be asked about your launcher. Answer the question correctly for your setup.
Any time you are asked to press Enter, go ahead and proceed. This is the last time I will tell you to hit Enter for most occasions.
Pick your scrolling speed. I recommend slow or normal the first time you do this, so you can keep up.
On the kernel panic screen, I recommend choosing the Rock(H)ard Option, so hit H and then enter
Accept the Misc and 3G tweaks by hitting Y
Feel free to keep or disable the annoying animation (the scrolling V6 at the beginning of the script)
Hit Y(es) for SuperMinFree Calculator settings. This is an automatic calculation. You can change this later when you get more confident. Many will choose the 1000HP option for our phone (based on available memory)
It will now backup your build.prop and some other system files.
ICS and newer Android services store a lot of the memory tweaks in services.jar. This script will now take you through an ICS patcher. Accept the Automatic Transmission. This will upload services.jar, and download the patched one.
It will eventually tell you that it needs to wipe your caches and restart. You will definitely want to do this. You will need to wait 4-5 minutes while it rebuilds your Dalvik Cache
Almost done! After your phone boots up and stabilizes, go back into Script Manager. Navigate to /data/99Supercharger script. Check the SU (skull/crossbones) and check the boot option.
Zepelinrox said:
- Stock ROMs - It also creates /data/99SuperCharger.sh which you can load up on boot (run as root) with Script Manager. The OOM groupings work as well since it happens on boot in local.prop or build.prop (18 entries added)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Reboot your phone and now your phone will run the supercharger script on startup. If you ever want to verify that your script is working, or if you want to mess with any of the extra options (including removal), run the original V6 shell script you downloaded as root, just like we did at the beginning. This will tell you if you are 100% optimized and give you a whole menu of options to play with!
I can actually open multiple apps now and go back to the first one without it having to reload. Waze is the best example. If I ever switched out and then back, it always had to reload...not anymore! Again, this all seems like a lot, but it's really pretty easy once you give it a shot!
Let me know if anything is unclear so that I can adjust this OP to help others.
Make sure to give Zep a 5 Star Rating in his OP and also give him thanks, he is the man!
Reserved just in case.
ok i need to correct you on one of your steps...DO NOT SELECT THE BOOT OPTION FOR THE SCRIPT. IT COULD CAUSE YOUR PHONE TO BOOT LOOP. only select run as root. it even tells you that on the guide that zeppelinx put in his thread.
edit: sorry for caps but i wanted to point this out before someone made this mistake

You have to run /data/99Supercharger as root and give it boot option or it won't be applied at boot. But you are right, if you are worried, you could just run it as root the first few times. I personally always set this one to boot as well. If you had to, you could always adb in recovery, and remove /data/Supercharger if you are having problems.
*EDIT
This is mostly a concern for ROMS/Kernels that utilize /etc/init.d but I will add this caveat to the OP

if the rom uses init.d then the script will install a service to the init folder and it will auto load when then phone is restarted, no need to try and force it to run. also if it is a stock rom (with the script manager program) you can set the 99supercharger to run after boot as a task.

What you are saying is exactly the point I made in the OP. Is this unclear? You should only ever run 99Supercharger on boot, not the original V6Supercharge Script. And yes, this is geared mostly towards stock users, who do not have init.d support and therefore need SManager to run the boot script for them.

i understand what you are saying but the boot symbol next to the run ass root symbol in the script should not be checked. if you need it to run at boot the script manager program can do that for you, by setting up a scheduler when you reboot. after boot it will run the script but not during
p.s. let me re-read what you put so i am just not looking stupid lol. i think i need a nap
edit: yea if you need it to run at boot do it through the script manager program and set it up to schedule it to load the script after your phone is already booted to avoid any potential boot loops (but dont check the boot logo at the top left hang corner of the actual script itself

Can you post the steps to describe how you personally do boot scripts with SManager?
After Android starts up, it will send a boot intent to all apps registered to receive such an intent. This is where SManager is allowed to execute any scripts you have marked with the boot option. This happens much later than a traditional /etc/init.d start script, but is no less effective. Please let me know how you mark scripts as bootable and I can add that recommendation as well. Thanks.

It's definitely helps with multitasking. I can keep apps open in the background much easier. Problem is that it chokes out the available ram for running apps, so it can make it feel sluggish. I think it's overtweaking the mem settings.
