I just rooted my X10 mini and trying to install MiniCM7.
I did followed the instruction as in this link-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068553
Unlocked my bootloader, flash the firmware named-"E10_nAa-02_2.6.29-nAa-02.ftf" and press the back button repeatly once the logo screen appear. By the way, my logo screen is a crashed image, I think it's normal so I just continue.
Getting into CWM, I followed the instruction also. Backup, Factory Reset and installed the updated.zip and gapps.
Done all the installation, I select " reboot system now" ( I think that's the reboot right?)
THINGS COME WRONG HERE!
After reboot, crashed image logo screen again! I wait for around 30 seconds, it automatic reboot! Crashed image logo screen appear again.....
I still can boot into CWM but can't get into normal OS anymore.
Perhaps I've done something wrong during the process, but I did followed the step.
What can I do now?! I just want back my original OS now.
Can someone help me please?
Download and copy to sdcard the ROM MiniCM 2.0.7
Flash it via recovery
the distorted boot logo is normal

obviously he did that. also, it is 2.1.1, 2.0.7 is for stock kernel, and he has NAA custom kernel.
From what I see there you flashed NAA kernel v02, flash the newest one and try again.
Did you check the kernel was updated correctly? Try to reflash miniCM following the steps again, if your kernel is cracked and NAA kernel is installed correctly, you mustve missed a step during the rom installation. go through it again and let us know.

Do i need to Wipe data or do anything before flash?
Wipe data/factory reset after you flash the ROM. Then flash gapps.
And BTW, nAaKernel-03 is out. (Go here). You should use that with MiniCM7-2.1.1.
Hope it helps!
Best,
Sam

Just wipe the phone (factory reset), no need to flash gapps..
You just wanna see your phone revives again
After it's ok, then you can flash the MiniCM7 2.1.1 again and together with gapps of course, but before you flash Minicm7 2.1.1 you have to wipe the phone first
after flash the ROM and the gapps..isit select "reboot system now" to reboot? ><

Yes. Reboot = restart.
If you think reboot = factory reset, then no.
Wipe = Factory reset.
On button + Home button also can reboot..so I don't know which to use..><
I tried to flash MiniCM7 2.0.7 but it say the baseband is not compatible with the ROM..update baseband to : M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015.

anyway thanks for helping me..

To update baseband update via PC companion. if that does not fix it, look for a tutorial to flash custom firmware with baseband 015, there are quite a few on the forums.
Why press 2 buttons to reboot when you can press only one? youre overcomplicating things.
Isit what in this link? -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9067949&postcount=1
So which one should I flash? And my Mini still in the situation that stuck on distorted logo, only able to boot into recovery, nothing else I can do.
Personally I wouldnt just give up after what you've allready done.
Your phone is in no danger. I've been in your position lots of times.
Since you are able to enter the CWM menu,
just try to reinstall 2.1.1 again, wipe everything, install gapps, and try again.
I would recomment kernel 03 instead of 02 tho, but it isnt needed to get 2.1.1 to work.
Also, when following this:
"Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM4.x.
- Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
- Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (SUGGESTED)
- Select 'apply update from sdcard'
- Flash gapps"
Instead of "- Select 'apply update from sdcard' "
Select a custom .zip (not update.zip, but find the CM7 2.1.1.zip file on your SD-Card).
Then do the rest.
hope you get it working
Good to see solutions to your problem, but please post in general or faq in future. Please report your own post (I think you can) and select "move thread" or something like that.

Was in the same boat until I flashed NaA Kernel-02 , everything was fine after that.

Cause of I read it from many users, that they get WLODs anymore on the newest Cm7 release from J and I haven't problems, I'll share a list with steps to install it, with that it worked for me perfectly.
If you have a working Recovery you can start directly with step 6
1. Flash with Flashtool a stock firmware
2. Boot up into stock
3. Activate usb debugging
4. Root it (connect phone with activated debugging mode and press in flashtoll root)
5. Install FreeXperiaRecovery (connect phone again, click "ask root permissions" and then click on xrecovery button)
6. Download the Cm7 rom form here, and the two files from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1073859
7. Copying all files needed for flashing the rom on your sdcard: Cm7 rom and the Screen off fix
8. Reboot and check if you can enter Recovery
9. If not, start at the point where you install it via Flashtool
10. If yes, take out the battery and wait ~15-30 sec.
11. Now put your battery in again and flash the .ftf bundle from the thread i linked above
12. If it flashed succesfully reboot and enter Recovery. Make ALL available wipes (full wipe, wipe cache, wipe system, wipe battery stats, wipe dalvik cache. I think that are all, right?) Now DON'T reboot before you made the next step, cause you have to start from zero if you reboot before making the next step
13. Flash the Cm7 rom
14. Flash the screen off fix
15. Reboot and wait until you get into the rom.
Note:
I know that J provides a own Baseband package, but i use this .ftf bundle, where I mixed the 435 Firmware parts with the amss.sin of the bb.52 bundle available in the bbcollection thread and I haven't any problems with this and on that way, you haven't to flash always the normal and the modded bb if you switch between roms.

If you download Flashtool 0.2.9.1 there is FreeXperiaRecovery included. Look into the list, there wrote to click on the xrecovery button for installing FreeXperiaRecovery. The files are included in flashtool.

Hey, just for clarification - I thought it was never a good idea to use the option
"format system" in the "partion tools" sub menu of xrecovery?
Doing this will erase everything - including xrecovery itself [self destruct] and therefore the user would not have any option except complete reflash if anything were to go wrong with the subsequent install.... ?
Correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: if this is what you meant by "wipe system" in OP !

Yes i ment this.............maybe you're right, cause it will be formatted by installing the rom, too.........hm..will correct op.
Edit: I made it that way always, and had never problems, so i haven't thought about it.
no its COMPLETELY fine to format system AS LONG AS, you flash the rom RIGHT AFTER (DO NOT REBOOT THE PHONE BEFORE FLASHING ROM AS RECOVERY WILL HAVE BEEN ERASED).
When you format system, and install the rom, the rom has recovery built into it as well and it installs the recovery to your system partition when you flash the rom.
So as long as you dont reboot after format system and install the rom first, your fine.
Hello 9lukas5,
I thought I might mention that I've finally managed to fix my wlod but by installing setcpu on the earlier version of J's rom I was using, and setting it up to on boot run the processor at the usual 998 speed. Then I flashed the update.zip (from j's latest release, just formats the system) which didn't remove setcpu so the cpu was running at 998, this stopped all the random reboots and wlods.
I tried for a couple of weeks to use an update, trying so many different ways of stopping my phone being unusable as soon as I flashed the updates due to wlods.
Just though I'd mention it in this thread as it was on topic. Not everyones fix I'm sure, but helped me.
Cheers for all your support and help with installing the roms.

K - Right on, ty. Just so it's out there and people know ;-)
I believe the majority of WLODs are to due with the CPU constantly running at full speed.
I was getting a lot of WLODs with FreeXperia Kernel-10 on my ROM until I manually set the CPU governor to on demand.
Just go into Cyanogen Settings and change the CPU governor to on demand (it probably already is set to on demand, so change it to something else and then change it back to on demand).
After that my CPU was running at more than the max frequency and I haven't had many WLOD's (think I've had one since, a major improvement).
Erm not to be funny but their are no WLOD due to the changes J has made in his new version, regardless of how I flash it, no WLOD anymore... It has nothing to do with the way you flash the rom that caused this...
Hi guys,
I have follow ALL step from the step 1.
The phone boot, ask for the PIN code, then the page to change the language and then WLOD...
Do you think it come from the CPU frequency ?
I can't found the BTS kernel for this ROM.
Thank you for your help.
hmm....I shared it cause I hadn't any problems of WLODs yet on Cm7 since J019
Hello all,
the main trouble I had causing wlod, was definitely the clock speed. When I flashed the rom (about twenty times, different ways) I would not get enough time to configure any cpu settings, or any other settings, before my phone crashed and it would just start to bootloop with wlod.
I had to install setcpu on an older version of j's rom which didn't have overclock. Checked the box to apply settings on boot. So that when I flashed j's latest rom which is just the update of the system, all my apps were there (didn't bother wiping cache, data, etc) setcpu was still running on boot to keep the cpu set to 998.
Haven't had a single problem since, apart from low battery phone crash.
I tried so many different ways to flash before trying this, hope this helps someone.

Any body make a stock kernel image to flash to check sleep state vrs miniloader issue?????????
Worked a treat!! Thank you!
So, I've been trying to install the Cyanogenmod for 2 days without success...
This is what I've been doing. Tell me if I do something wrong...
-Start with stock KE2
-Flash CF-Root wich also contains CWM
-Factory reset / Cache wipe
-Put cyanogenmod .zip on the phone
-Boot into recovery
-Select install .zip from sdcard, and I select the zip
-Phone says install succesfull (the install just takes like 3 seconds, is it normal?)
-I go back to the previous menu and select reboot phone
It gets stuck at the black "samsung galaxy s2" screen. I left it for more than 20 minutes that way. Nothing happens.
I just power it off and re-flash a stock firmare via odin...........
This happens with both the stable and the nightly cyanogen mod builds.
Could you help me please?
1) boot into CWM recovery
2) Flash CM7 zip
3) reboot into recovery again
4) flash CM7 zip again
5) wipe data/cache/dalvik cache (you will lose all your app data, but not pictures/media/etc)
6) reboot and wait for it to boot, upto 10min.
Why dont you just flash and cf- root stock rom then thru cwm just install the rom? easy and works, atleast for me it did, got back to stock thu , its better after you freeze all bloatware..
hope it helps

So it works? Dunno, it was something todo with differences in the CF-root CWM recovery and the CM7 CWM recovery and busybox.
If you'd bother to read the instructions for flashing CM (which you clearly didn't, else you wouldn't be asking this question), they're pretty clear about the requirement to flash the rom twice. The why is irrelevant. The simple reality is in order for it to function it needs to be flashed twice.
If you haven't already, do yourself a favour and flash the original stock firmware that was on the phone when you bought it before you end up trashing it :-/

Ya ..you can install custom ROMS now i hope u hv boot loader unlocked ..head over to the Neov development section and download the ROM you want ..Follow the instructions really carefully while installing ROMS
And the answer of your second question is NO. When installing stock ROM or repairing it all apps and setting are gone nothing to do with wipe dalvik cache
Problem persists
So i tried installing pureness once more, this time i made sure i wiped davik cache. Same problem stuck at SONY and so had to revert to stock once more. I havent unlocked BL yet. Is it necessary for installing Pureness. Also can somebody tell me if i am doing it right.
1) used flash tool to downgrade to .562
2)rooted using Doomlords tool
3)Used flash tool to upgrade back to .431
4)Installed cwm auto installer apk from google play
5)Installed cwm
6)Booted into recovery
7)Made a backup
8)Used install from zip option to install Pureness
9) reboot and its stuck
Cant even access cwm since its stuck at that point , so i cant use the backup also right.
First, flash a specific kernel for that ROM.. Look for the link for kernels in the above post!
Flash the kernel first.. Reboot into recovery... Wipe data, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache... And then install zip from sd card!
Reboot your phone! You'll be done now!
flashing kernel
I am guessing for flashing the kernel , i have to unlock bootloader.
You didn't unlock your bootloader?!
You definitely can't flash a custom kernel without unlocking it!
I suggest you go with the official Sony's way..
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
BL
but that will void my warranty right and i will no longer be able to use SEUS for reveting to stock.
Yea.. That would void your warranty!
But unlocking the bootloader will allow to install custom ROMs which shall be very fast and smooth as compared to the stock one... and I don't think you'll revert back to stock!
Though relocking can be done but you won't be able to update your phone through over the air updates!
It's your choice!
1. Unlock bootloader using sony's,
Method
2. Flash the custom kernel
3. Get into CWM
4.wipe delvic/data/battery stat
5. Install custom rom
6. Install gapps(if necessary)
7.wipe delvic
8. Reboot
That are common steps
Also use the recommended kernel by the developer
Also follow his instruction...if in doubt serch if still confused post here

Hi,
I have x10 mini pro (u20). I installed successfully minicm10 and it works fine. I am trying to downgrade it back to mincm7.I tried to two different processes (with seus and with flashtools) but both fail:
1. With repair/update with seus.
I follow the instructions. When my phone is in flash mode, seus starts to download but then I get a message saying: "there is no software available for the phone". "sony update engine doe's have software available for the phone".
2. I tried to just to flash nAa kernel 14 or stock kerne but then the phone is hang when the logo apears (nAa or 'sony ericsson') and I connot enter to CWM recovery.
I search for a solution here in the Forum, I read many instructions, but I did not find a solution for this problem. I hope someone here can provide me with the solution. At the moment my phone works well with minicm10.
Thanks in advance
Did you do the uninstall wipes before flashing nAa-14? Format /system /data and /cache in JB recovery before flashing nAa-14

Downgrade from MiniCM10
Hi sason70,
I had a similar problem with my x10 mini pro. When I tried going back to MiniCM7, I tried using Flashtool for nAa 14 kernel. It completed fine, but on reboot, it hung on nAa logo. I tried with nAa 13, nAa 12 kernels, but still got stuck with the logo.
Then I tried a different approach. I re-flashed nAa jb kernel again.
On reboot, I got back to JB (so I knew how to get back to at least a working phone).
On next reboot, I pressed Back hardware button and entered recovery.
Here I did Factory reset, cleared Dalvik cache (didn't know if it was required), formatted /system, /data.
Next I applied the MiniCM7 zip file and the gapps for it from SD card.
I wanted to poweroff, but there is only a reboot option. So I removed the battery after selecting reboot (and when the screen went blank).
Next, I used Flashtool to put nAa 14 kernel.
On reboot this time, it went to first welcome screen.
Of course, I went back and restored a pre-JB backup and got my phone working as before (call log and all).
I hope that helps.

I made a factory reset, wipe all data and cache. I flashed nAa 14 and I was able to go the CWM. But I still have problem to install Minicm7: The installation starts fine, but when it reaches to wipings/system stage, the process stops to advance when it is around 80%.
What I am doing wrong now?

You need to re-partition the internal storage again to their original sizes.
Boot into CWM - Mounts and Storage and do:
Format /system
Format /data
Format /cache
They got resized with JB and nAa-14 will restore their original sizes again so you can flash MiniCM7
:victory:
Thank you very much.
Now everything is in order (I hope...)

Plug your phone to a computer, strat flashing. It will ask you to get into flashmode. Then, with cable still plugged, do a hard reset by holding shutdown and home (middle) buttons at once. After some time, LED will turn on green and it's in flashmode. If it gets out of flashmode fast, then just do an extra hard reset when it just got into flashmode, i succeeded to repair my e10i this way.

Hi sason70,
I had a similar problem with my x10 mini pro.
Nandan

did u wipe Dalvik Cache!???
Are you sure you followed all the steps properly and you chose Xperia mini? Try it again
0. Locked Boot Loaders should Install CWM
1. Reboot to cwm.
2. Wipe data/factory reset.
3. Wipe cache partition.
4. Wipe dalvik cache under advanced menu.
5. Format data under mount and storage menu.
6. Format system under mount and storage menu.
7. Format cache under mount and storage menu.
8. Install zip from sd card.
9. Follow the steps in aroma installer to install the rom.
10. Untick Reboot Device when installation completed.
11. Go back to CWM & Reboot from there.
12. When System boots up go to Developer Option & Tick "Force GPU Rendering".
13. Active Users Flash Home_Key fix from Addon Section
Note: After installation, first boot may take several minutes (to create cache, dalvik cache etc.) to start your device. Leave your device for 20-30 minutes to settle down the rom. Also at first boot you may notice a high ram usages (less free ram). It is natural because android system occupy a lot of memory while settling down the new rom. After 30-40 minutes reboot your device and you are now ready to fly with your newly installed rom.

Yes bro. I did it twice already and the same thing happened. I chose xperia mini and followed all other stuff in the aroma installer, untick the reboot device, etc. But still no luck of going through the sony logo. i've left my phone for over 1hour and its still in the sony logo.
Have you selected locked bootloader option in Aroma installer? I tried Zelly cream with Lupus kernel - it worked fine

Yes i've selected it. And it still doesn't work. Any help? I really want to use that rom so bad.
Did you flash the kernel Included (or recomended) for your rom? because if you are stuck at a sony logo it seems to me that you still have stock kernel.
Edit: it seems that you have just hot boot the first kernel with recovery so when you boot again it just revert to stock Kernel.
That would explain why you can't access to recovery the second time.
You need to really flash the kernel:
1. Turn your phone off
2. Plus the usb Cable in While pressing volume up.
3. "fastboot flash boot boot.img" If you use fastboot in command line or "Select Kernel to Flash" button if you use fastboot in Flashtool.
Edit2: Ok I just realised that you have Locked bootloader so what i just told you won't work. Sorry.
Did you really follow step 10 and 11 and chose "reboot to system"?
The only thing I can think of would be to unlock your bootloader using mihahn thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1879750 and then install a custom kernel.

Now, i tried to flash the stock kernel and root again and install cwm again then i tried to flash the custom rom via cwm and followed every steps then reboot. And still it wont go through the sony logo. really need help guys!

When you have 10 posts you may ask in the dev thread, maybe there's a little step we all missed and so it's not working

yeah i've never seen a feedback from people that's using the zelly cream rom with a stock kernel, maybe the problem is with the stock kernel. Now i'll try some other custom roms out there maybe they'll work with the stock kernel and a locked bootloader.
Thanks for the support guys!

Hi, the first time i tried this i only wiped data/factory reset and nothing else, so when i rebooted from recovery mode i got stuck at sony logo. Took me some time to fix everything (flash stock ICS on device, root phone and install cwm again).
Now i did all this:
0. Locked Boot Loaders should Install CWM
1. Reboot to cwm.
2. Wipe data/factory reset.
3. Wipe cache partition.
4. Wipe dalvik cache under advanced menu.
5. Format data under mount and storage menu.

8. Install zip from sd card.

11. Go back to CWM & Reboot from there.
12. When System boots up go to Developer Option & Tick "Force GPU Rendering".
13. Active Users Flash Home_Key fix from Addon Section
Now when i rebooted from CWM (recovery mode) the sony logo appears for about 10 sec, than disappears for about 5-10 sec, and it's doing this over and over again for about 10min now.
Any ideas ?

Why did you flash the active user home button fix? It's for Xperia active st17 users! I guess that's the problem
Reinstall the rom like you did before and don't flash the active fix! It should work fine

I actually didn't do that, because when i reboot from CWM (after installing rom) that's where the sony logo flashes in about 10s intervals.
unable to install custom rom
Hi guys..Currently I'm using "Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro".I have rooted my phone by "Flash Tool" for Sony, I also unlocked my bootlocker too that time.
After the rooting process has been finished I have installed "ROM manager" from Play Store. Then I install "CWM v5.0.2.7" via ROM manager. But the whole problem is that now i can't istall custom ROM for my device. Because in the CWM recovey menu it is showing "Xperia Arc[v03] {ICS}".
I am able too wipe factory data, cache and delvik cache, it is also showing installation process of custom rom. After the installation process completed, my phone is not booting into Custom Rom. Its repeatedly showing sony icon, then it is automatically rebooting. I took back up for my phone also, and I can also recover from that. Also I tried "X-parts" app from play store, and installed cwm for xperia 2011 series. But the same "Xperia Arc" is showing till now.
note: I followed all the steps[/B]
