Stock Dutch Modem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been messing around with a few modems. But came to the conclusion that the stock one, was giving me the best results. By my mistake i forgot to write down what the stock modem was in the first case.
So my question:
Does anyone know what the (Dutch) stock shipped modem is?
Kind regards

How do I dump the current ROM ?

I want to root my sgs 2. Before doing that, i want to dump the currently stock rom so that i will be able to use odin to revert back afterwards if i need to.
How do i do that (no root/busybox/etc installed yet...pure stock)?

Intratech *only* posts official firmware versions, so you should not encounter any problems if you download/save/re-flash the firmware he's uploaded (that matches your original firmware CSC, kernel, etc).
Also, you don't want to mess with the partition when you flash a firmware using Odin. The instructions Intratech has provided are detailed but easy enough to follow for a beginner.

I would like to know this as well because Intratech was not able to find a version of my stock ROM yet.
I would like to know how as well. Would like to "backup" the stock version before rooting with VR as I just got my SGS2 tonight
These are my phone's firmware:
PDA: I9100XWKF1
MODEM/PHONE: I9100DXKF1
CSC: I9100OLBKE5
I saw intratech's thread and there is the stock firmware for XWKF1 but the version for the MODEM and CSC are different from mine. Hope to create an exact backup before rooting.
Appreciate any advice. Thank you.

You can find your firmware on Samfirmware.com. Anyway, this is your stock firmware.
So i take it no one knows how to make a dump of the stock ROM? As i would really like to know how to do this myself as well.
I had a look at Intratech's thread, and found a matching ROM of mine but i don't know which CSC version to get?
Mine says I9100YOGKE1, and there is no CSC there with YOG at all, even under different ROMS.
*confused*
you can use odin to make a dump of your rom, bottom right corner is the dump button.

It's there though and has been there for a while. It's even on it's own under XWKF1: http://www.multiupload.com/U95BI5QVDL

It's there now.
I used Nandroid from the CWM kernel to backup my ROM. The reason I used the plain CWM kernel is because it would not affect any of the files on my ROM (as it is not pre-rooted like the CF-root kernel so it won't add any symlinks or excutables) and after restoring the backup, I can just flash the original kernel again. By doing that it will be stock again. Oh, and I have a jig to reset the counter.

The best firmware... Which is it

So what's the easiest wat to get XEU CSC, get KG5 Firmware and the newest modem, my phone was originally on a Vodafone UK branded firmware and is now on KG6 it also has the XEU CSC. Thanks for any and all help.
If KG5 isnt the best then I have been thinking about villainrom, is that another way to go, which is best either 2.4.2 or 2.3 as I dont want the stock browser to lag and dont want to use a third party.
Thanks for any help.

"Easiest" way for your first request is a bit of mix-and-matching from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1058&order=desc&page=2
What is "best" or not is really up to you, but Revolution uses KG6, lag-free stock browser and is generally the dog's bollocks:

Very little real difference between any SGS firmware if truth be told likewise custom roms .

[Q] Recommended modem for Vodafone AU?

Hey,
Im running the GT-I9100T from Vodafone on Australia, currently running MIUI 1.8.19 and wish to flash to another modem other than the KH3 currently on here as the reception is less than good.
I was hoping to find the original KF4 modem shipped with the stock firmware available from kies, but alas could not find it. I only found KF2, or KG1 and above.. I was looking at this thread :
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/s...II-Shipped-Radio-Collection?p=42051#post42051
for modems but was wondering who in Australia gets the best receptions with which modem?
Cheers!
EDIT : Can the modem.bin file from the original firmware downloaded through kies that is KF4 be extracted and placed in another rom to flash? or just flash through odin/cwm?

I'm with Optus and I find KH3 to be quite good for me. If you have the modem.bin file you can flash it through CWM, but you need to make it a flashable zip.
Otherwise you might be able to put it into another rom.
EDIT: The best way to find out which modem gives you the best reception is to test them out

STOCK is SAMSUNG firmware .
If you want 3uk firmware then restore your original saved rom.
Not bothered to save it then CHECKFUS is probably your route to 3uk firmware .

If you as the owner don't know then nobody else will know .
Just guess at a version of 3uk firmware for your location .
Or ask on a 3uk forum what is your firmware .

KI8 is the newest Gingerbread Three ROM apart from the ICS build released today.
I don't have it to upload though, I only have I9100XWKE1 which is a very old build, But if you can't find KI8 Three stock anywhere I'll upload it somewhere for you.
[edit] Infact I have KI8 on my PC if you can't find it online let me know.
Personally though I'd just flash LP7 much better than LPQ that Three have released today & not as much bloatware!
Because I am a really nice person, Don't complain about speeds this was the first link that would let me upload over 300mb

Unzip first & then Flash with Odin3 PDA mode.
Guide here to show you how: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 Under "Flashing Firmware with Odin"
Make sure to wipe cache etc

[Q] What modem is in Dutch [LSE]?

Obviously I am from the Netherlands and I really want to know what modem is in the new Dutch JB rom [LSE]. I checked the Sammobile and a few threads on XDA but couldn't find an answer. Maybe someone who is already running the rom can give me an answer.
