I post comment on the htc facebook page my name is kevin darwin on they reponce that
HTC Thanks, Kévin, we've shared this with the team internally. As source codes are updated and added, they are published to HTCDev.com. In the meantime, glad to hear you're liking your EVO 3D, so far. Getting any good 3D action shots?Il y a 3 heures · J’aime
So i don't not if it already upload or if they will be done tomorow
You can see that on this page
http://htcdev.com/devcenter/downloads
You got me excited but their response does not indicate that the kernel source has been uploaded at all, only that they have passed on the information.
I checked the sites and actually two HTC EVO 3D sources are there...one for MR & one for CRC, and unfortunately I don't know which is which, but I think Lee can figure it out
those 2 kernels on the dev site was there for a month and i think they both for cdma version, might be gsm version within this week hope so
My understanding is that one is the GSM and the other is the CDMA.
The GSM sources have been available for over a month on HTCdev.com, but the problem is that the included board files are not compileable. That's what HTC has yet to fix (by re-uploading the sources with the correct board files).
got me all excited for nothing =(

thanks for correct myself
There's nothing at all in that message that indicates that they have or are releasing the fixed source code any time soon...that just says that someone is looking into it, which has been 2 months now...so don't get your hopes up, this is HTC after all
how do u know if the kernel for GSM e3d has been updated as of 4/10?
title is misleading, maybe you should change it to kernel source news etc instead of the word uploaded. There are many of us waiting for the kernel sources I guess, personally I want them for the OC+UV kernels
i doubt it was updated.
the files inside the "shooter-2.6.35_mr.tar" archive are all dated 25/08/2011 or earlier.
how can i change the title

photpix do you even know what you are talking about.
Please do some reading and research before posting such a topic.
Many of us waiting for that kernel and stalking HTC about it but still there is nothing that they do for us GSM users.
So when you just post without research you get a lot of disappointed people.
I just want to say thank you for that

Hello everyone! I currently have a ROM for the CDMA EVO 3D and I was asked to bring it over to the GSM EVO 3D. You can check out my current ROM here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192628
I am going to try to get the ROM put together by tomorrow and I wanted to post this up here since this is specific to the GSM E3D. I need people that are S-OFF and comfortable with testing and understand that there may be bugs in the software that I can't test because I have the CDMA E3D. Please send me a PM to test and tell me why you want to test and why you would be good at testing this ROM. This is just to sort out the people that will be useful and help me debug any issues that could come up. I'm looking for 3-5 SOLID testers, so please hit me up and I will get back to you when I wake up. Thanks!
I wish i had s-off now...else i could be a good tester.
So you listened to my begging !!! huuraah
well there are 2-5 persons rooted, < estimate
so you arent going to find many but im your man as i told you even before this thread
If my phone was rooted, i would test. You might have a hard time finding people with root.

Sorry, I'm still working on getting a solid base together. I will hit you up when I have it done, sorry for the delay.
ah okay
Thank you for making possible to let it be ported to GSM
I hope your rom doesnt take up more space as virtuous shooter does.
It took 100-200mb more space after removing all htc bloat ??
Do you know what it is.

No idea, haven't looked at it man. Sorry.
Ah okay,
hit me up if you need me for testing.
Sorry guys, this has taken longer than I thought because of some other things I'm working on. I will get you guys up a good base ROM tonight with some of the nice features from the CDMA version with more to come later
I just rooted my device i just flashed the virtuos one.
Look svery good en promising. I am really missing the battery percentage in the battery icon at the top of the screen.
Anyway i am interested in testing your rom. Just let me know. BTW i am using Clockworkmod recovery don't know if that's a problem for your rom ?
EDIT: Sorry guys, I know this is a complete 180 since 5 minutes ago, but viperROM for the GSM E3D has been cancelled. After seeing that the Virtuous Team has a ROM already done, and the big point of our GSM E3D ROM would have been the virtuous_oc daemon, we would rather not try to create a ROM for a phone we don't have especially when the Virtuous Team pretty much has the base ROM that we would create. It would also be a real pain to implement and test this ROM without the phone and we are all about stability. Virtuous Team does great work and I think they have everything covered
Sorry for the sudden change, I'm going to ask for this thread to be closed.
Hello XDA,
As you may or may not know, the official CM9 Project for the HTC Amaze has not died at all. It is being worked on by developers like +Max Krivonos.
I am making this post mainly in hope of educating myself in regards to the development process and things realted to it.
I've been following the project since the day they released the video of what Max got working on the Amaze already. Over the course of many months, cable detection, SD card, and "wifi" was fixed. There are only problems like GSM and the Camera left. Now I understand that Max has been busy with a lot of things considering his comments on his update posts seem to say that, but I am just curious as to how long does it really take to get things like that fixed?
My HTC Amaze is only my second Android device to my HTC Sensation which I only had for about 2 months. I have never really followed a project exclusively so I have no idea as to what the average timeframe is. However, my main concern is that Max "opened the repo", and a leak for the ICS update already came out. Shouldn't this help a lot? There are already many developers who are pushing out very clean ROMs based off of the leak, and there's only around 2 problems with more than 1 developer working on the issues. How long does it really take?
I didn't want to bother Max and other devs by asking them because I'm sure they have a lot of things on their hands anyways. Like I said before, this is not meant to be negative in any way. I simply want to learn about this, because I have been very eager waiting for CM9 like everyone else.

i may be wrong so don't hold me to it. but i believe they need the wifi drivers which htc has not released yet to fully remove sense and get everything working. like i said i'm not positive but i think i read that somewhere else.
I think someone said Max quit working on it, and has posted his build online somewhere. As the poster above me said, it is because of the lack of source code atm. Once the ICS leak becomes "official", HTC should release the code. Keep in mind we're not really supposed to have this leak at the moment.
Max posted over a week ago that he was stopping his work on it as "he is just too busy" and released the repo.

Gosh, I had no idea because I couldn't find anything like that on Google+
Who will be working on it? I guess another thing i'm trying to ask is if it's impossible to derive the source-code from the leak.
Well I definitely understand were your coming from but I think we just have to be patient like its hard trying to pull the drivers that are specifically made for the sense it takes time to try and rework those drivers for an aosp rom so I guess it would be wise to just be patient and wait to see what spot or xboarder is doing. I know xborarder is on android-dev.us and he's working with a couple of ppl on a Tom so just be patient man.

This can only mean the Amaze will get better right? I'm assuming this will be a step forward to fixing all the bluetooth issues with various roms as bluetooth is just as important to me as breathing I need to have more fun with my Amaze since as of 4 minutes ago I officially bricked my MyTouch 4G Slide and my One S power button is broken so I'm awaiting my warranty replacement.... Please Amaze devs give me more to do with my phone or I'm going to have to break down and buy a SGS3 to add to my daily excitement

interesting to see if HTC released all of the kernel source code
does HTC provide (complete) documentation of the Amaze 4G's SoCs? I remember poking around some documentation docs in the previous source code releases on HTCDev, but don't remember what I saw
EDIT: Nice of them to include a README/build faq in the zip file
Code:
Only in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c-wifi/: btimages
Only in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c-wifi/: build_ti_bt.sh
Only in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c-wifi/: build_ti_wifi_r5_ccx.sh

Only in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c-wifi/drivers/net/wireless: compat-wireless-r5.00.09_ed_ccx
Only in ruby-ics-crc-3.0.16-a4fb83c-wifi/: images
so maybe.......
I just hope faux is seeing this. He just recently, for the lack of a better term, "stopped" updating kernel for AMAZE.
Stupid question I guess, but how are the roms going to benefit from this?

From what I have seen:
Previously, devs had to slipstream HTC's compiled wifi kernel drivers in their kernel source code (which gave them little room to modify the actual code to improve stuff)
now, they can compile everything(?maybe htc held back on some other things?), and make changes they want to

After stable, I will go into long term hibernation for Amaze... I may update it when I feel like it (but with > 95% chance that I won't).
This BT issue took me over 2 hours (which I can't afford and don't have, on borrowed time) to find it...

Just PM'd a few devs. Hopefully we will see new things popping up =D
So does having this source help out at all for the data issues for pure AOSP, or is it mainly just kernel and wifi/BT fixes? Just curious cuz I don't know what exactly it means.

On this issue, didn't I see somewhere where HTC was releasing plane-jane ROMs for some of their devices? I wonder if petitioning for one of those would get a response? Just thinking that HTC probably finished the ICS ROM for the Dinc2 months ago and gave it to VZW, where it is collecting dust. I know source code is most desirable, but a finished ROM would help, too. Yeah?
I'll try to find where I ran across that and post a link.....

No, not a leak. I flashed plenty of ROMs based on leaks to my Dinc2.
So it was in this article here, which is about HTC setting a 512MB RAM bar for their devices to receive JB.
I thought this quote was interesting: “Chou and Co. also noted that they plan to post "generic development ROMs" of Jelly Bean for the One X and One S to its developer website as soon as they're fully baked. “
So if they are posting "generic development ROMs" why can’t they do that for devices like the Dinc2? Anyway, just something to think about asking for since they are obviously putting them together.

Who here is willing to help me out with harassing/asking/begging HTC Dev to upload the source code for the Max kernel? I'm pretty sure everyone here knows that with out that AOSP is just a pipe dream..
Idea #1 After talking to Flyhalf and some thoughts just being tossed around I went ahead and attempted to boot the m7vzw recovery to see where it got me which turned out to be absolutely nowhere lol... Except for a black screen for a few moments and then it rebooted itself back to the bootloader.. It was a nice brief thought of us possibly being able to work with a kernel and code that already existed publicly! But again just another pipe dream...
Idea #2 Was an actual interesting idea considering it doesn't brick the device and render it useless, but after talking to nocoast from liquid/carbon/gummy what have you, as he said this would just be EPIC lol.. He suggested that I attempt at flashing the One Max to a GPE (Google Play Edition for those noobs that don't know what GPE is) and converting it over to a Google Experience device like the OG HTC One users are doing.. It's a fantastic idea but I however won't be the first to attempt this. Also considering we don't have an actual Verizon HTC One Max RUU available as of yet where if the phone wasn't completely shot that I would be able to RUU back to stock. See this would actually be seriously epic but my thoughts on that are if it did flash hypothetically speaking and it booted no problem what happens with RIL? I haven't seen anyone with a Verizon HTC One post anywhere that they were able to do this, correct me if I'm wrong.. There wouldn't be radios available for us considering the GPE devices are all GSM... Not to mention that even if I pulled the radios from a firmware dump and did some zip hacking the frameworks would probably not support it.........
Anyone reading this know of any Verizon HTC One users who successfully flashed their device to GPE and everything is working? If someone can find anyone who truly pulled this off I'll for hell of it give the GPE kitkat RUU a flash to see what happens out of curiosity maybe... I mean if you think of it how dope would it be to have the Google bootloader and get updates from Google and not HTC!!!
This is why I'm saying if you have a few minutes to spare please go to HTC Dev site and shoot them an email asking for kernel source code so we can get the ball rolling on AOSP builds.. I know I'm not the only one who is hurting for some source built ROMs! I've used Flyhalf's work since day one on the original Verizon HTC One and I know how phenomenal his builds were and I'm dying to run them on this! I always used HTC devices with the exception of briefly going to the Galaxy Nexus then Galaxy S3 then quickly to the Note 2, and what I loved about the Note 2 was the screen size! The last 3 devices I listed was all for screen real-estate well the Gnex was for ICS and 1st Verizon Nexus, but the rest screen real-estate! I don't need all that extra bloat garbage Samsung crams down everyones throat with the stylus and s-pen apps and s-voice and blah blah.. I loved it cuz it was BIG! I fell in freaking love with the HTC One but my biggest issue was coming from the Note 2 was stepping back down to a 4.7 inch screen....... Everything else I loved loved loved.. Then the announced the One Max and it was a wrap! This is something I can rock with for a minute tip they release the next super sized HTC phone with more power. HTC really nails it when it comes to build quality. They are just falling short with the carriers rules on being locked down and not releasing source in a timely fashion like some of the other OEMs are..
So lets get together as a community and try and get us some source!!!!! I've already been in touch with them a few times regarding this matter, and they basically just said that they are working on getting it to us............ Come on?????? We know it exists just upload it already!
+1 we need to kick of AOSP builds. I would like to email HTC Dev, however not have done any before. Can i request you to post anything specific that needs to be added to this email? it would help the other users here too.
From what I understand they booted the Sprint One recovery on a (your?) Verizon One Max. Wouldn't that mean the Sprint One kernel could be used (with some modification) with the Verizon radio? Both are cdma so it *may* not be that difficult.
No when beaups and I messed with my Max and he updates his rumrunner to work on the Verizon variant I went ahead and flashed and booted the Sprint One "Max" recovery not the original One recovery..

Good idea thanks
alright, just contacted htc dev asking them for one max downloadables.
How did you go about contacting them? Was it through the "Tell us what you want" tab on htcdev.com? Keep us informed!!! Hopefully if enough people do this regardless of your carrier since we are looking for common source for the kernel we can expedite the process a little since HTC tends be s l o w with posting their special sauce... Also thanks pradeepvizz, much appreciated!

Yeah, did it via "Tell us what you want".
Here is the direct link for ppl to find it faster - http://www.htcdev.com/contact
i have known HTC's slow release timings over the kernel source in general and also about their bad attitude, hopefully we get more ppl to demand them. HTC One had got 4.3 update 2 months ago and it was only last week or so that the kernel source was released

Different responses showing their difference in attitude against devs
Sent from my HTC One max using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I have been in contact with them pretty frequently over the past week and they have as they said "escalated the issue" to the right team to expedite the process on getting the kernel source up.. I'm right now awaiting another email from them and I encouraged them to call me as well lol.. We'll see!!! We can only hope!

Thats a good idea, i will follow up too! just in case it helps
I don't get any useful response from these guys... Were you successful in getting something?
Sent from my HTC One max using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I was in contact with them again last night and they responded today and told me that my escalation was received and is in the process of being reviewed and typically takes 7 to 10 business days and at that point would come to a resolution.. I explained to them that I understand Sense and HTC's extra nonsense is proprietary and told them that I don't care about that. What I care about is the kernel source and them following through with GPL compliancy and how not only on the One Max but all HTC devices based on the Linux kernel being modified and redistributed NEEDS to be made open and in good ethics in a timely fashion.... If anyone is really interested in seeing what I wrote I'll post the whole email lol.. It's a lot for me to retype. I gave it to them thorough though. I mean really gave it to them with facts and dates. How they were the originating OEM to release a public Android device and how they initiated the launch of the Open Handset Alliance and how they suck at being "Open"!! It was pretty good I felt!!!
