[Q]Two questions about ROM GinTonic v2.1 - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

I have a two questions about GinTonic.SE v 2.1
Is this rom can flash through the CWM?
These modules how to upload? Also the option "install zip file from sdcard"?
Thank you in advance for your reply
PS. This is my first post in the forum, so please be understanding.

Yes, you install the ROM through CWM.
I create a folder on my sdcard and put the ROMs and modules in that. I then select factory reset in CWM then 'install zip from sdcard', you can then browse your sdcard for the rom.
Install the ROM first and the modules second (both from within CWM using 'install zip from sdcard'). Perform the factory reset within CWM before you flash the ROM and after you install the modules.
You can then reboot, leave the phone 10 mins so it can build its cache files, reboot again and then set it up.
Good luck!

[Q] Problem installing CM7 on my X10

Hi,
Im on 2.1 .435 roooted with busybox installed.
i downloaded a CM7.0.0-RC1-3.ZIP (74MB) from a link followed on this forum.
I created a folder called "xrecovery" and "backup" on SD card
I went into xrecovery menu and made a backup
I then did a factory wipe, wiped cache partition, wiped Dalvik cache, wiped battery stats.
I then chose to install custom ROM from SD Card (this is where the problem arose), after selecting the CM7 ROM ZIP folder, i selecting install.
A few seconds later i get an error message saying installation aborted ,"ERROR E:SD CARD/(then gives the location of the cm7.zip file in sd card)
could i have downloaded the wrong CM7.ZIP file? or did i put the CM7.zip file on the wrong place on the SD Card? the error occurs when custom zip file is installing.
Pls advice.
Unzip your file and there you have update.zip this is the one you should flash in recovery, then reboot and then flash gapps.
P.s wrong forum section!

I unzipped it but there is no "update.zip" and "gapps" there.
Then you have the wrong file.
Only cm7 working for x10 is jerpeleas cm7 rom.

Did you follow the all of the instructions when you installed CM 7 since are coming from FR008?
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
yeah i did that but i didnt see market or anything..

Sounds like you may have a bad download of the Google Apps. Try using this link:
http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
Try downloading straight to your phone and then flash from ClockworkMod.

I think you are confused on how to install the Google apps properly.
At step 4, you should choose install zip from SD card, then select the Cyanogenmod zip file and let it install it. Once it has finished, you should then choose install zip from SD card again and then choose the gapps zip file and let it install that. You should reboot the phone only after installing both zip files, one after the other.
You can also save yourself a lot of potential headaches by formatting the system partition before installing. You also didn't mention the dalvik cache but I'm assuming you did that as well. If it's still unclear, here's the whole process you should be following for a clean install:
1) Boot into Clockworkmod
2) Wipe data/factory reset
3) Wipe cache partition
4) Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
5) Partitions menu > format system
6) Install zip from sdcard, select Cyanogenmod zip file
7) Install zip from sdcard, select gapps zip file
8) Reboot

thanks alot i was not doing and 4 and 5...
Thanks for your direction. I have the Cyanogenmod running stably and I installed the Google Apps thereafter. Since I installed the Google Apps, my phone has been restarting after, say, 3 minutes of startup. Can you help me please.

Make sure you got the correct version of gapps for cm7. It should read something like: gapps-gb-20110503.zip.

Can't install Pershoot kernel. In Paris V4 P7510

I get some directory error that I can't copy and paste, but it has to do with the sdcard folder.
I wiped cache/dalvik before trying to install via clockwork 4.0.0.4.
Anyone have an idea what the issue is?
Many thanks, and happy browsing.

Just giving a quick bump because I still cant get this to work.
Do I need to factory reset as well? If so, this is new to me, and I think it may be wise to include these details in the Kernel thread, as not everyone is 100% on these sorts of things.
Many thanks.

So when you boot into CWM recovery do you see the kernel .zip on your sd card?
Steps for installing pershoot's kernel.
Place file in root of SD card
Boot into CWM Recovery
select install zip from SD
choose kernel zip file
select yes
reboot
No need to wipe anything, should be a quick boot up.

Problem:Miui 2.2.24 for Xperia Neo V(MT11i) Build Two Android 4.0.3 by Mike Gapinski

my touchscreen doesn't work when i install this custom rom ...
any help would be appreciated
Are you able to reboot to recovery mode? If yes reboot to recovery flash a backup (hopefully you have a nandroid backup) for the previous rom? Then do a full clean with 2.2.24 i dont think gapps are integrated make sure you have your gapps.zip!
wipe data/factory reset
wipe data and cache
go to "Advanced"
wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
press arrow back
choose "install zip from sdcard"
choose "choose zip form sdcard"
select the .zip file (Miui 2.2.24), install it
then go back to "install zil from sdcard"
select "choose zip from sdcard"
select gapps.zip
install
go back to advanced
choose fix permissions
hit back arrow
select reboot system now!
I did as u said but still no luck
Neov_man2nd edition rom which is on this forum works great but this MIUI and cyanogen mod 9.0 dont have any response when using touch screen..
Does it require any particular kernel? coz i hav atm nightelf kernel ...and baseband .62 and there is no gapps.zip for MIUI ver .. but there is for cyanogenmod 9.0 which i installed after installing the main rom..
thanks for the reply

My st15i cannot flash rom using clockworkmod

My phone always fail when trying to flash new rom such as cyanogenmod 7 using cwm ..
My step is:
1 copy zip file that contain system file and boot.img in external sd card
2 turn off the phone and boot into cwm recovery
3 I choose install from zip
And when trying to open the package it says error and installation aborted
How can I fix this problem?

Make sure any version of Android 2.3 is installed on your phone.
Install the kernel via fastboot(check my tutorial or read forum, it's been discussed a lot here already).
Then enter recovery and install the zip file.
Make sure to make factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache(under Advanced).
Do NOT wipe /system.
If still the same, post the error code here.
