My st15i cannot flash rom using clockworkmod - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

My phone always fail when trying to flash new rom such as cyanogenmod 7 using cwm ..
My step is:
1 copy zip file that contain system file and boot.img in external sd card
2 turn off the phone and boot into cwm recovery
3 I choose install from zip
And when trying to open the package it says error and installation aborted
How can I fix this problem?

Make sure any version of Android 2.3 is installed on your phone.
Install the kernel via fastboot(check my tutorial or read forum, it's been discussed a lot here already).
Then enter recovery and install the zip file.
Make sure to make factory reset, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache(under Advanced).
Do NOT wipe /system.
If still the same, post the error code here.

Did you follow the all of the instructions when you installed CM 7 since are coming from FR008?
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
yeah i did that but i didnt see market or anything..

Sounds like you may have a bad download of the Google Apps. Try using this link:
http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
Try downloading straight to your phone and then flash from ClockworkMod.

I think you are confused on how to install the Google apps properly.
At step 4, you should choose install zip from SD card, then select the Cyanogenmod zip file and let it install it. Once it has finished, you should then choose install zip from SD card again and then choose the gapps zip file and let it install that. You should reboot the phone only after installing both zip files, one after the other.
You can also save yourself a lot of potential headaches by formatting the system partition before installing. You also didn't mention the dalvik cache but I'm assuming you did that as well. If it's still unclear, here's the whole process you should be following for a clean install:
1) Boot into Clockworkmod
2) Wipe data/factory reset
3) Wipe cache partition
4) Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
5) Partitions menu > format system
6) Install zip from sdcard, select Cyanogenmod zip file
7) Install zip from sdcard, select gapps zip file
8) Reboot

Thanks for your direction. I have the Cyanogenmod running stably and I installed the Google Apps thereafter. Since I installed the Google Apps, my phone has been restarting after, say, 3 minutes of startup. Can you help me please.

Make sure you got the correct version of gapps for cm7. It should read something like: gapps-gb-20110503.zip.

[Q]Two questions about ROM GinTonic v2.1

I have a two questions about GinTonic.SE v 2.1
Is this rom can flash through the CWM?
These modules how to upload? Also the option "install zip file from sdcard"?
Thank you in advance for your reply
PS. This is my first post in the forum, so please be understanding.
Yes, you install the ROM through CWM.
I create a folder on my sdcard and put the ROMs and modules in that. I then select factory reset in CWM then 'install zip from sdcard', you can then browse your sdcard for the rom.
Install the ROM first and the modules second (both from within CWM using 'install zip from sdcard'). Perform the factory reset within CWM before you flash the ROM and after you install the modules.
You can then reboot, leave the phone 10 mins so it can build its cache files, reboot again and then set it up.
Good luck!

Can't install Pershoot kernel. In Paris V4 P7510

I get some directory error that I can't copy and paste, but it has to do with the sdcard folder.
I wiped cache/dalvik before trying to install via clockwork 4.0.0.4.
Anyone have an idea what the issue is?
Many thanks, and happy browsing.

Just giving a quick bump because I still cant get this to work.
Do I need to factory reset as well? If so, this is new to me, and I think it may be wise to include these details in the Kernel thread, as not everyone is 100% on these sorts of things.
Many thanks.

So when you boot into CWM recovery do you see the kernel .zip on your sd card?
Steps for installing pershoot's kernel.
Place file in root of SD card
Boot into CWM Recovery
select install zip from SD
choose kernel zip file
select yes
reboot
No need to wipe anything, should be a quick boot up.

i will proove and let u know
an other question
i have download the 2 files from the site of joker that are in winrar. now i must put the two files in this way in sd card of the phone?
ok i have installed
thank you
but now i can't make call
anyone know what i do bad
Just as a suggestion...always do the clean install method:
- nandroid backup
- format system
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache/dalvik
- reboot recovery
- flash ICS ROM
- flash newest joker gapps
- reboot
- reboot again
Yeah. Most issues are caused by a failure to wipe.

Make sure you get the cwm from joker too. Dont use the one rom manager gives you. It wouldnt let me flash anything.

Flash stock rom with flashtool to recover
You shouldn't Format system before installing a custom rom, only if it's required in the thread oft the rom. And how die you Format Boot?
This is not necessary on our xperias. SD card neend't be formatted, too.
Do it like that:
1. Copy the FXP rom zip and if you want the gapps (Google apps) zip to your SD card
2. Flash the boot.img
3. Boot in cwm
4. Wipe data/factory reset
5. Wipe cache, advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
6. Install the FXP ZIP
(6.1) Install the gapps
7. Reboot
That's it

You have to open the rom zip, go to the google folder inside meta-inf, open the updater script and delete the first 3 lines (assert getprop)

Write out the full error, we are not smart people, who are supposed to know everything.
Friend
U have also faced same problem while installing fxp 152 cm10 on my live with Walkman. But I have backup my previous cm9 stable on my PC and i have cm9 zip on my sd card too.so after that installation aborted error I disconnected my battery and then I again connected my phone to PC via fastboot and flashed cm9 kernel and installed cm9 rom. As I too forgotten to take nandroid backup so after installation my phone started normally.
don't worry do it like this.if you ain't got any stable rom then download it in PC and copy it on SD card.
