I'm loving my SGS 2 with the exception of one annoyance. When messaging in landscape mode, I cannot figure out how to press the send button without hitting the back button first to close the keypad. The attach button is where the send button should be.
I feel the same way, I hate it.
I use SwiftKey and you can swipe done to hide it.

Id rather not have that in my status bar and going into it I might as well just use shoot me or drocap2 id like to long press home button to screen capture cause I dont use the task manager anyway
Oh okay. I use launcher pro and choose to hide my notification bar, and have it toggle to show when I press the home button, so the program works for me...
It world be nice if someone could program a screen shot by holding the back button, then either vol+/-.

Works
Used it works great. Thanks.
I was wondering if anyone knew a way to remap the hardware keys. I want to do this because there is no dedicated search button on the SGS II so there is no way to utilize a quick compose feature from an app like Handcent SMS which designates Quick compose as a long press of the search button or the camera shutter button (SGS II has neither of the buttons.) Thank you
anyone know a solution?
once cyanogen mod hits the gs2, there'll be options to remap buttons etc, there working on the camera shutter button (use power to take picture). youll have a solution shortly after that

My apologies for bringing this thread from the grave but this issue has been bugging me from the beginning. I'm currently using CM7, could someone enlighten me how do I enable the long press menu function to activate the quick compose function. This is the only the thing
I miss from the iphone.
For anyone who is still looking for a solution, I have discovered that if you install LauncherPro you can assign the Long-Press menu button in CM7 to Quick Compose under the SMS app you use. Also for those that use widgetlocker I created an invisible button to activate quick compose as i couldn't figure out how to get the menu button to activate it in lockscreen.
Hi,
I love my Nook Tablet, and have rooted it using Indirect's method, and have added the SystemUI.apk published by revcompgeek.
However, I'm not quite where I want to be...I am really hoping for some tweaks or app(s) that will make my "n" button truly act like the home button in Button Savior, or the home button on my iphone - I want to double-click or long-click on it and get a list of running apps, with the option to switch to another one directly or to close one or more.
Does anyone know how I can do that?
Thanks,
ST
natively no possible, apps will do

Look for Multitasking Lite on the market. You can get a running list of appear by single press, double press, or by search button.

Multitaking Lite did the trick! I also tried TaskXP and that does the trick as well. My problem with them is I didn't realize I needed them to catch the home page button press. Now that I figured that out everything's working the way I want.
Thanks for everyone's help, this noob appreciates it!

Thanks for the info, just downloaded taskXP

Does anyone know of a multitasker that actually catches a home button hold rather than a double or single press? I want a single press to go home and dislike the delay that setting the multitasker to double press introduces.

You can disable the double tap function in TaskXP and have the multitasker popup on one click. I tried it on mine and it works.

Yeah, that doesn't quite solve my problem unfortunately, thanks though. I've gotten used to the single click for home, hold for MRU from other devices and was hoping to find something that would make this the same. I guess that's probably unlikely though since that's default android behavior and the whole purpose of these apps is to change it.
I use the S Pen a lot. I'm trying to figure out a way to incorporate the back, home and settings button into my launcher (ADW)
The same way ICS does it basically to eliminate the need for the Capcative buttons.
Does anyone know of an app or way to put those shortcuts on your home screen? Its really annoying when using the S Pen to have to always go back to those buttons.

You know you can use the s pen right?
Press pen button while swiping back to go back
Press button up and swipe up to open menu
Press button and swipe down to go home
Samsung has all these tips in the phone
Menu.settings.spen
There is also a s pen tips app in the market...and lots of cool stuff on the facebook page.
If that doesnt work out for you there are a few apps on the maeket for "soft buttons"

You can use the S-Pen for going back, home, and menu. Hold the button and drag left for back, Button+down for home and button+up for menu.
I had wt19i, i got some problem from last week,
Sometime i got a call, the keyboard suddenly opens and hide the accept and reject buttons. I cant able to swipe accept or reject. then the is missed.
Is anybody had this problem? how can i sort out of this.
Keyboard opens if you hold Menu button for long time.
Ok
Ok, if it is accidentally happens, how to revert back to call, is there any method to close the keyboard?
back key
But it's not work
But if i hit back key nothing happens, actually the screen back to home, but the keyboard remains same.
Do you have any mods on your phone?
Why does this happen? Does it have something to do with the qwerty.kl file?
