I tried installing google maps v5 and it installed correctly but, when I try to open it says there was an error and that it stopped working unexpectedly and that I need to shut it down. I'm currently running custom rom Alien #4
Can somebody help on this cause I really use this app a lot and the old version it had was not working properly, desperate!!

Some apps disappeared from Market (can no longer be found with either browsing by category or using the search function) after I flashed CM 6.0/6.1 ROM, including FoxyRing, PingChat, Seesmic, Foursquare, etc.
I have tried MarketAccess.apk, no luck.
Could anyone help me please?
Is this because of the Android version? Is froyo not supported by those apps?

OK I admit this a stupid question. Of course it is because Android 2.2 is not supported by those apps. :-S

I find all of the above apps when searching for them. Using Floyo 1.1.9, which is a 2.2 rom

Thank you for your information! I will try replacing my Vending.apk with that from a Floyo ROM and do some investigation.
Tried Vending.apk from Floyo. No luck.
Also compared system versions between the two ROMs. Didn't see any difference.
Totally confused now...

Attached are screenshots to show the version information of my current ROM and the Vending.apk.
It's driving me crazy!
I just flashed Floyo, installed FoxyRing, Foursquared, Seesmic, PingChat with the Market, and saved the four apk files in my sdcard.
Then I restored my CM6.1-RC1 and try to install the four apk files I just saved.
But my phone won't let me install them. It just keeps saying "not installed".
What is the trick that Floyo ROM has done to make it work??
Hi,
When i connect to market and start downloading a app. it keeps saying ''start downloaden'' and nothing happens.
I tried:
-Deleting Cache market
-Deleting updates market
-Used WIFI for downloading
-Restart telephone
I use BB58 with 2.1 from Seus. I custimized it with:
-ADW
-Gingerbread theme
-Rooted + Recorvery
-Adfree
-And deleted some of the app from SE
Someone know how to fix the download problem?
Cheers
When u started customizing the phone, which of the things listed did u do last before this started to happen?

I did a restore from xrec.
Maybe it is before the freaking problem starts
did u deleted the Talk.apk ?
if not, try signed in into the talk apps
Just be patient, I tought I got stuck aswell but I kept the dl running and did some other stuff and when I went back to the market everything was downloaded. Another explanation could be the adfree thingy blocking apps with ads (lite/free versions)?

CM 6.1.3 [Full V006] is the first custom rom i use and it is a great rom!
But when i go to the market and try to download apps, there is no signal about the download and it only shows starting download but i never starts the process to download.
What is the problem and how can i solve it?
Thanks
Try going into
Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>
find the market in one of the tabs go into it
and select Clear data.
next time you open the market you will get the disclaimer again then you know you did it right
works for me every time the market goes scitzo.

I have tried this before and this simply doesn't work. But thx for your advice anyway
Have you installed the latest market and or a theme version?
Have you tried the
bad behavior> crash system server
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i've tried this just now and nothing happened
The crash?
Ok what about reinstalling the market? Without a theme.
Sometimes I find if I log into talk (home to exit so it's in the background) The market downloads without the whole starting download thing.

Reflash the rom is your best bet.

hello i am having some problems with simply honey..
1.[Solved] everytime i try to use swype it force closes
2.the launcher it came with (gingerbread launcher) fc everytime you open it
3.[SOLVED]recovery is still not usable
4. the ocean waves background fc's
5.[solved]sometimes the power button dosent work
If you haven't done so already, reboot into recovery and fix permissions. This always fix many fc, do you still need help with Swype?
thay didnt work and also recovery dosent wok either
Do you have rom manager installed? If so, what is the current recovery?
Edit...I'm reposting what I advised others about Swype.
Try this,
1. Uninstall swype, swype installer, or any left over cache
2. Search for any swype files or lib and delete them
3. Reboot
4. Install the apk attached
5. Log in, choose swype english, install, follow the directions on there until it's finished. Otherwise it won't license it if you don't follow all the directions from the app

It fc after following all the above steps?
That worked but I still have problems with recovery and the gingerbread launcher

Download Rom manager from the market, it's free, open it and flash the recovery for your phone, then at the bottom, choose fix permissions. Reboot your phone.
Let me know if this doesn't work.
You should reinstall it.

Hi, I just installed Kenneth's Alien Rom (which is awesome by the way) and am having issues with certain apps. The first one is the dialer, when you press the dialer icon it says the application is not installed?? Also, there is no camera or camcorder app in the app drawer. I even tried Navalynt's d3 camera and it wouldn't show up in the app drawer. Any help would be greatly appreciated

With these problems i think its the best you will download the rom again and then do full wipe (data, dalvik, cache) and install it again.
