Hello all, my HD2 has a broken digitizer. LCD picture is showing up fine but its not sensing my touch. Now i want to restore the original ROM. When i restore the original ROM do i need to hit anything on the screen ? I don't want to be stuck on a screen where i need to hit "OK" to continue and not being able too.
I've never reverted back to a stock ROM before so i don't know the process...
Any info would be great!
no, no screen necessary. the rom will hang on setting up network, waiting for a tap, but by then its stock already so doesn't matter.
great!, thanks it worked... =)
ok the 4 touch panel keys alone the bottom of there screen have there own firmware as far as i can tell. Seems i broke them, menu and Back light up where is search and home do not, however none of the keys themselves do anything. I was scrweing around with the dialer commands and somehow entered the touchscreen firmware not exectly sure what happened but it attempted to update the screens firmware, pop up said screen firmware update "pass" anyone know how to fix this lil crew up on my part

try rebooting, if that fails try flashing another rom or using odin?
firmware flashed back to JI6 screen buttons still dead.
try to ODIN to stock. if that doesnt work, the only thing i can think of is to bring it to a tmobile store
code used *#*#2663#*#*
ok FIXED
seems after reboot i had to reupdate touchscreen firmware yet again. maybe Onyx did not have the particular firmware in it's files, and i had to go back to a samsung firmware.
Today, I had the CM7.2 rom on my SK17, and it worked perfectly, I toke the phone to use it, but the touch screen didn't worked! I saw the things in the screen, but touching it gave me the same result as touching a non tactile screen! Of course, I couldn't unlock and use it.
I tried to enter the CWM mode and flash it. In the CWM the soft keys didn't worked, so I had to wait to flash again the boot.img at home with the computer.
But although I flashed again the boot.img, the touch screen didn't worked. I tried to flash other different boot.img, but it continues without work. I don't know what to do!!
Do you flash the right rom??mango??
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro using XDA
Seen quite a lot of topics about SK17 touchscreen problems, but no solution yet, neither do we know what causes the bug.
Also, soft keys in CWM not working. I hear that first time.
Get back to fully stock ROM, might help you.
Of course I had flashed the correct rom, for mango, sk17, and I returned to the official rom too, but the problem persists.
I think it's a hardware problem, but I don't know if I should open the phone to see if something is broken...
Ok, I finally decided to take the phone to vodafone and make them solve the problem. It's under warranty yet and I think it's a hardware problem, so I won't have to pay, but I'll have to cope without my xperia during 10 days :S
Thanks for the ideas you suggested
yeah, me too having this problem.... once it worked i restored backup...but after 30minutes stopped working again.... i can change kernels...but not working..so i guess not the lib's fault here. Also softkeys doesnt work, i guess they are part of screen.
I've just got my phone a few days ago, and I'm new to Samsung.
After using "Samsung GS3 Int ToolKit" to root and flash insecure boot, I found that sometimes my device gets completely stuck!
It can be working one minute perfectly fine, and then the touch screen + soft buttons don't respond.
The previously used screen flashes above the lock screen, and then goes away
after playing with the power + home buttons.
After a while it comes back (I have to mess with the buttons) and if I use face unlock, it doesn't help since I can get in - but that's it. kinda hard to use the phone without touch.
What could you guys suggest as a fix? flash another ROM? another bootloader?
Oh, I forgot to say I'm using XXBLH1. any help would be appreciated...:good:
I had the same exact problem. I unrooted and sent it back to samsung service. They then saw the root counter in recovery
and told me my warranty is void and whatever i flashed is the cause of the problem.
They eventually flashed it back to stock and returned it to me , working again
