My touch screen isn't working but the touch buttons are. I've already tried rooting, flashing, and installing all sorts of ROMS. Touch screen worked for a few minutes after installing CM10. Can anyone help, please?

Hello all
Looking for some help.
I flash my rom quite often and have never had any problems. I recently flashed to a 6.5 rom, and all of a sudden the touch screen stopped working. it is unresponsive to any touches.
i flashed the 6.1 official rom, and that flashed ok, but the touch screen still doesn't work
it hasn't been dropped, nothing physically is wrong with the thing, but i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why this could have happened?
i have a NIKI200, T-Mobile Touch Plus, unlocked, hard spl'd etc etc
anyone help?!
thanks!
the flex cables are terrible on these devices, make sure that its not because of the following problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=457284
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416747
could be! thanks for that
i have phone insurance, so will probably go through that, i'm not one for opening the phone up!
my question remains, how come all of a sudden this happened after flashing a rom?
can someone please do me a favour and get the registry settings for the Niki
1. Open your Registry Editor
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/
3. Click on CalibrationData
4. Give me the values in this field
This will maybe help me out!
thanks
anyone?! please?
thanks
1766,2044 3007,3100 3044,1015 574,998 575,3085
I don't know if this can help you, anyway these are my values:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\TOUCH]
"CalibrationData"="1997,2020 3393,3079 3388,969 609,949 614,3080 "
"MaxCalError"=dword:00000010
"DriverName"="TouchResponse.dll"
just wanted to test something
thanks guys!

ok guys this might sound silly but try it and see it might work.
go back to stock spl and then stock rom,let the rom start up and then change the spl to hspl and try a custom rom, see how it goes , like i said it just might work.
ps good luck
ok mate, i will give it a try, thank u for replying!
right, done as u said, what I think it has come down to is the HSPL, the touch screen doesnt work, i flash a different HSPL and it works again, but then not again after a restart, UNLESS i flash the HSPL again, this is odd....
To sum it up with what happened over all. I went through several attempts at rooting with none of them working, including attempting several of the recommended ways on reddit which didn't work. I ended up using ODIN a few different times and eventually was hit with a ROM that made my search/back buttons no longer work and my home button turn into a back button. So I attempted to try Un-root it using a one-click rooter with an unroot feature. After trying that I was thrown into a loop where no matter how many times I restart my phone it takes me directly to the clockworkMod screen with orange text. When this happens I can still scroll using the volume up/down buttons but when I click power to try to select one of them what happens is that the selection screen will disappear and I'm left with only the background image of the clockworkMod screen.
Ideas? Suggestions? So far my only idea is using a USB Dongle Jig from Ebay to force it into download mode to try a proper rom I know works.
Try to flash it with flashtools (with a ttf file) the official firmware). If that is not working i would reconsider using a flash station.
Mind explaining how I could pull that off? I'm not that good with androids.

Please search and read up on what you are doing. You buttons being messed up was do to the wrong kernel for your device. Also if you would like help it might be nice to know what device you are using.

I can't do that, I have no way to get to the ODIN/Download screen, only the recovery screen it auto-boots to.

Moving to Q&A
Today, I had the CM7.2 rom on my SK17, and it worked perfectly, I toke the phone to use it, but the touch screen didn't worked! I saw the things in the screen, but touching it gave me the same result as touching a non tactile screen! Of course, I couldn't unlock and use it.
I tried to enter the CWM mode and flash it. In the CWM the soft keys didn't worked, so I had to wait to flash again the boot.img at home with the computer.
But although I flashed again the boot.img, the touch screen didn't worked. I tried to flash other different boot.img, but it continues without work. I don't know what to do!!
Do you flash the right rom??mango??
Sent from my Xperia Mini Pro using XDA
Seen quite a lot of topics about SK17 touchscreen problems, but no solution yet, neither do we know what causes the bug.
Also, soft keys in CWM not working. I hear that first time.
Get back to fully stock ROM, might help you.
Of course I had flashed the correct rom, for mango, sk17, and I returned to the official rom too, but the problem persists.
I think it's a hardware problem, but I don't know if I should open the phone to see if something is broken...
Ok, I finally decided to take the phone to vodafone and make them solve the problem. It's under warranty yet and I think it's a hardware problem, so I won't have to pay, but I'll have to cope without my xperia during 10 days :S
Thanks for the ideas you suggested
yeah, me too having this problem.... once it worked i restored backup...but after 30minutes stopped working again.... i can change kernels...but not working..so i guess not the lib's fault here. Also softkeys doesnt work, i guess they are part of screen.
I've got this device from a friend, he asked me to help him to fix it.He bought new device and started to mess around with it. Rooting, installing CM7 and, maybe, smthng else. Thant the device started to miss some touches. So he did unregistered the device. From what i've seen on this forum, it can be caused by 5\10 multitouch driver. So i tried to use 8 fail boots method to reset the device, it didn't helped me. Than i tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1402190 method - it didn't helped me either. Does this two solutions guarantee to restore original 2 touches driver? Do i need to do something else? Or he have to purchase new touch screen panel?
P.S. I have a 16 Gb version

Yeah. I read all i could find. Some of them say, that i popped out my microSD card and touch screen started to work. The other ones talk about 10 points touch screen driver issue. That was my question - will device factory reset reflash the old, 2 point touch screen driver. If it wouldn't - i'll have to do this by myself - i haven't yet figured out all the details - to much new and unknown staff. But if it would - probably, this tabled need new touch frame. The problem is - i don't really know, what exactly had been done to the tablet.
Read it again! Restoring to original will not reset the touch firmware. The discussion a couple of posts below this at this moment tells you waht you need to do, or at least what you can try.
Edit:
Better post link to topic even though it's just few lines down right now
