Does anyone's Galaxy Tab 8.9 show any signs of newton's rings?
my 8.9 does not have it but my 10.1 did which I returned.

Hmm, I wonder if the others are fine too. I'm tired of the rings on mine.. the 8.9 seems like it could be just the right size too.

but the old HDMI dock with Charging port will work with some tweaks
Are you sure? How can I use old dock station for new 10.1 version? It is much bigger. it doesnt fit...

you just take the dock from 7" and the plastic holder from the desk dock of 10.1"
I just saw an unboxing video of the 8.9 and noticed a Touchpad like keyboard with the numbers along the top row. Has anyone been able to pull the.apk or whatever it would be called to apply for the 10.1? Thanks
I have a Touchpad that I got with this fire sale.
I love they Keyboard, much more than any software keyboard I've used on android and ios.
Would love to see one like it on my galaxy tab 10.1
Swype is not good for big screen imo.
I'm thinking of picking up the Prime. I know it has the tegra 3. Processor but how does the screen compare to galaxy tab 10.1?

(Ancient wisdom says 4.1.1 & later 4.5.1 are not rootable)

You're right. Since the 4th generation HDX 8.9" comes with FireOS 4, there's no way to root it at this moment.
