Hello Guys
I have a problem outlined in this thread, however nobody seems to know the solution to it.
I've gone through some other treads on difference devices and one thread suggested to replace the sim card with a new one. So i went to the 3Vodaphone store and had the SIM replaced, however the same problem still exist.
I called up 3's tech support and was told imported phones are not supported.
so I am thinking it might be the radio, which is causing the "3" network to reject connections to the Flyer, but! my flyer recognise telstra, optus and vodaphone networks just fine. I want to try different radios to see if i could get my Flyer to work on "3"
i would really appreciate if someone could enlighten me on whats involved to flash a new radio on to the flyer ?
and my questions are :
1) how to identify RUUs from the file name ?
e.g. RUU_Flyer_hTC_Asia_HK_CHT_Wifi_2.27.1302.31_Radio_ 20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_205140_si gned
is this RUU Wifi only ? or 3G as well ?
what about
RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.23.405.3_R_Radio_20.3504.30.08 9BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204108_signed
what does WWE stands for ?
2) what tools and processes are needed to flash a different radio specifically for the Flyer ?
Regards
Steve
My stock UK 3g flyer (ordered through Expansys) works fine with 3.

thanks for the reply tuen, is your flyer rooted and s-offed ?
dear all please help me.
the wifi on the droid dna (verizon one) gets disabled when i put in the local gsm sim card here in India. its shows "disconnected" while switched on but it does scan the wifi connections but never able to connect to it.
However, voice sms and data work fine but not wifi.
After that i do a factory reset after taking out the sim card and then wifi connection starts working until i put in the sim again.
i did 3 custom roms as well but no solution. was thinking if flashing radio could help?
p.s. this is not hardware problem as the Droid DNA of my sister is behaving the same when inserting local sim card.
Are you flashing the appropriate modules for the ROMs/kernels you have flashed?

i have the same problem mentioned above with my butterfly x920e but i have the the phone with global open cid HTCCN701.
I have been purchased the phone from china and now i am in Pakistan.
But wifi with the chinese sim is working and when i insert any sim of pakistan wifi is automatically disabled and said "Not in Range".
After a full reset without sim card will do wifi oprational.
i have tried many stocks and custom roms but no luck.
stock rom that i have is an earliar version of my current rom due to S-ON i am unable to downgrade.
is there any way to get S-OFF on x920e Manually?
Any type of help appriciated.
thanks in advance.
I have an HTC One X+ which was bought in England. I am having strange issue with its WiFi. The WiFi works fine without simcard inserted even it also works fine with Orange UK and AT&T simcards but when I put any of Pakistani simcard then WiFi immediately stops working. It just searching for wifi networks but can't find any network. Here are the things I tried to sort it out:
1: Flashed different sense based roms.
2: Flashed CM10.1 (It has an option of "WiFi Region Code" in "WiFi-->Advanced" settings in which the default option is set to "Europe", Changing it to any Asian Country code make the WiFi working but it reverts back to "Europe" upon reboot, in simple words, the code is not sticking to any other country code than Europe).
3: Tried WiFix manager but its not working.
4: Wiped everything, Factory reset but nothing seems to work.
5: Tried without inserting simcard, WiFi starts working. It also works fine when I insert Europe based Orange UK, O2 simcards or AT&T simcard but when I insert any of the Pakistani sim, WiFi becomes unable to search any wifi network around.
Here in Pakistan, sellers are not selling HTC One X+, HTC Butterfly and Droid dna due to the same issue so its definitely not the hardware issue.
So the conclusion is that it is some sort of Region Based Restriction in either Jelly Bean or HTC. I am damn sure degrading Jelly Bean to Ice Cream Sandwich will definitely work and since there is no ICS rom for One X+ so is it possible to port One X ICS rom to One X+?
It also hits my mind that not sticking with WiFi Region Code has something to do with the Kernels. Can any dev look into any HOX+ kernel to find whether it has any settings regarding WiFi Region Code and then set it to Asian Region rather than Europe so it won't revert back to Europe upon reboot?

But the hardware is almost identical except better battery and bit faster processor. I have sent an email to HTC along with all proofs to show them mirror. They are just busy in business gimmicks but when it comes to the customer support then its a hell NO. The worse is that we don't have S-OFF for HTC One X+ otherwise the issue could be simply resolved by flashing any Asian RUU. Much frustrated in this situation, I mean WiFi works in low end phones then how come they are unable to make an expensive and flagship HTC One X or One X+ without any WiFi related issue?
Use my aokp rom
there the country code is not overwritten from the sim card on boot if set to a custom value
and no this has nothing to do with the kernel

Fair enough but what to do with the other bugs in AOKP 4.2.2? Where can I manually change the region code in rom instead of changing it from WiFi---->Advanced? Which file to edit?

Can you please share the link of any of your old AOKP based rom without bugs so I can use it as daily driver?

After reading this I am not sure if you should use a custom ROM
Have you actually even tried to use the propety ro.wifi.country
that I mentioned above?

But even if you change something in there, your settings will be overwritten at the next reboot, while you are not using AOKP, right?

Yeah I edited build.prop and set the ro.wifi.country code to JP, it works for a single reboot and one another reboot, my local simcard overwrites it. This is the issue with many android phones after jelly bean update but there is no permanent fix released for it yet. I sent an email to HTC and they replied me that do factory reset blah blah...They asked for IMEI number and mentioned the method to know the IMEI number that dial *#06# or "Remove the Battery" to know the IMEI no. below the battery Lol...so they don't even read the emails with devotion and just busy in sending ready-made templates to me... I just replied to them that kindly refrain from trolling like do factory reset or check the imei by taking out battery etc etc just give us a patch or permission of S-OFF so we could flash any Asian based RUU on it. Unfortunately, I have S-ON device otherwise this issue can be fixed easily by flashing any Asian RUU. I think someone should make Custom rom based on Asian RUU and that will also make difference. All the custom roms here are Europe based and this is the main root cause of the specified issue
IMEI # is on the simcard tray, it's really really tiny

I meant to say that representative from HTC didn't even know that HOX+ has no removable battery. Can you please make a custom rom based on this RUU i.e. http://d-h.st/3Ry ? I need a rom from this asian based RUU to get rid the wifi region restriction I would have done it but my device is S-ON so I can't flash RUU other than Europe based. You might have S-OFF device. Plz help me

Hello,
since I have flashed a custom ROM on my German T-Mobile HTC One w/o simlock (T-Mob_101), I can't use any SIM-Cards anymore nor can they be read. I also tried with the tape trick but neither that does help. I tried to install other ROMs (such as Google Edition and Android Revolution) but still no luck. I'm out of ideas and gonna throw that phone out of the window any time soon.
Please help me this is extremely frustrating, it's a quite new phone I don't want to send it to HTC for repairs.
My HTC didn't read Sim at all, I changed sim at operator office for brand new one - since then no problems
Hi all,
First of all thanks for all your contributions to end users like me.
But my situation:
I've bought a HTC Rezound. I'm living in Iran so I'm using a local GSM carrier other than Verizon. My phone runs an ICS 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 3.6.
Somehow it is S-Off and HBoot 2.27.0000(I took a picture of recovery page just to help). The problem is when I insert my SIM card into the phone it does not find any wifi network whatsoever even though I scan it. Without a SIM card inserted into the phone, it's OK(It finds wifi and connects successfully as well). I tried your custom ROM but then another problem arises and sending SMS breaks!(The same problem with other custom ROMs!!!)
I would be appreciated if you help me.
Thanks in advance,
M. Saboori
