No Simcard.... - T-Mobile HTC One (M7)

Hello,
since I have flashed a custom ROM on my German T-Mobile HTC One w/o simlock (T-Mob_101), I can't use any SIM-Cards anymore nor can they be read. I also tried with the tape trick but neither that does help. I tried to install other ROMs (such as Google Edition and Android Revolution) but still no luck. I'm out of ideas and gonna throw that phone out of the window any time soon.
Please help me this is extremely frustrating, it's a quite new phone I don't want to send it to HTC for repairs.

My HTC didn't read Sim at all, I changed sim at operator office for brand new one - since then no problems

[Q] Please help! Hero locked or a ROM issue?

My brothers iPhone broke so I'm trying to let him use my old Hero whilst he insists on waiting for the (currently non existent) iPhone 5/4S, and give him a taste of Android in the process!
Problem is, I am having problems getting it to work with his O2 sim card. My Hero is an unbranded HTC Hero (not G2 and not Orange branded or anything) and whilst I was on T-Mobile (now 3) I don't think it is locked to any network, and indeed it worked on my 3 sim when I tried it just now. I should also say that the phone is rooted and running Cyanogenmod (the 2.2 stable rom). I'm not sure what the problem is tbh... it doesn't say it's locked or anything... I guess it kinda works but it get's no 3G at all and thus can't log into his newly created gmail account (which he created on a pc just before, and has since verified he's trying the correct password). As a result of no 3G, and not being able to log into a google account the phone is kinda useless. In desperation I did a factory reset but that didn't seem to change anything...
Sorry if I'm forgetting something basic!
Any thoughts as to what the problem may be? I guess it could just be really bad luck and O2's data happens to be down tonight but I doubt it (will try tomorrow just in case) and like I say...I don't think it's locked so I'm kinda puzzled and running out of ideas...
Any thoughts and help are appreciated!
UPDATE: Well, it seems it was just a reception issue as it worked fine today! Weird that there wasn't any 3G whatsoever last night, but I guess these things happen...
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DELETE THIS THREAD! THANKS!

[Q] Aria as a Gophone?

I have been on an escapade with Google and have received mixed results, so I will turn to my last resort!
My question is, what does it take to use the HTC Aria with a GoPhone SIM card? I have read it will not work, it will work with no issues, and it will work after a SIM unlock. My cousin currently has an HTC Surround and it works fine with his prepay account. He desperately wanted to move back to Android and seems to adore the Aria so I picked up a broken one for cheap with intentions to replace the digitizer next week. Long story short he popped his SIM card in the phone and it does not work.
Both the Surround and the Aria are smartphones from AT&T, different OS or not they should both work if one does. I know he wanted my old Inspire before the rain took it and we encountered the same problem, his SIM wouldnt work. Could it be as simple as carrier unlocking the device or are all the people just getting lucky and their device works with the GoPhone card?
The Aria is currently running CM7, it is of course rooted but is carrier locked if that could be the culprit.
Any help is appreciated, thanks guys and gals! :good:

[Q] AT&T One X + Tethering with International SIM

Hey guys,
So I have a bit of a tricky question that I can't seem to find an answer for. My wife and I just move to Europe for work for 2 years. We had AT&T in the states, so my wife has an AT&T HTC One X+. We got our phones SIM unlocked before we left, and purchased French SIM cards that run on the Bouygues Telecom network. My phone (Lumia 925) can do wifi tethering no problem... My wife's on the other hand has issues. I keep getting the following error:
" There is a temporary network problem that prevents the enablement of the Mobile Hotspot function. Please retry later."
I have tried the following steps:
1. Rooting the phone.
2. Installing other hotspot apps (Both root and non-root)
3. Installed custom ROMs with hotfixes to remove AT&T data requirements.
I don't know if it's relevant, but when I do a reset on the phone, it doesn't automatically connect to Bouygues network for data. I have to manually add the APN every time. Once I do that, her mobile data works just fine, so I don't THINK that the APN is causing the problem...
Anyways, if anyone has an suggestions on how to fix this issue, I would be indebted to you... I've just never encountered this problem on any of my other Android devices and I have to believe that there is a simple solution to fix the problem that I've just not encountered. Thanks!!
I loved my international HOX, so when got dropped in water i said lets go for the ATT HOX+ that has LTE.
Big mistake! I have OP's same issue, im in spain and my provider is Movistar.
I bought it on e-Bay, configured all the APNs, I used settings from their webpage and also tried telephony.db values from an international rom, stock rom didn't tether.
Rooted stock (4.1.2 i think it was) still nothing.
Elegancia (4.2.2) ROM, still nothing.
Changed some stuff on the telephony.db, still nothing
Swapped the wifirouter.apk with the international wifirouter.apk, still nothing.
Nuked TetherGuard.apk, still nothing.
Installed Moto-X tether Xposed module, still nothing (probably cause it's for android 4.4).
I read that AOSP or Cyanogen ROMs don’t have this issue.
I also read that if you swap telephone.db from international version to USA version the phone goes into a reboot loop, [More Info].
I guess the solution lays in something similar to the Moto-X tether patch, but i don't really have the time to fork the project, and try to get my tethering working.
Hope someone can give us a hand, im sure there are at least 5 more people in this same situation.

[Q] inquiry regarding your Cyanogenmod 11 for HTC Rezound post

Hi all,
First of all thanks for all your contributions to end users like me.
But my situation:
I've bought a HTC Rezound. I'm living in Iran so I'm using a local GSM carrier other than Verizon. My phone runs an ICS 4.0.3 and HTC Sense 3.6.
Somehow it is S-Off and HBoot 2.27.0000(I took a picture of recovery page just to help). The problem is when I insert my SIM card into the phone it does not find any wifi network whatsoever even though I scan it. Without a SIM card inserted into the phone, it's OK(It finds wifi and connects successfully as well). I tried your custom ROM but then another problem arises and sending SMS breaks!(The same problem with other custom ROMs!!!)
I would be appreciated if you help me.
Thanks in advance,
M. Saboori

Removing the ROM of an HTC demo unit AT&T

Hello people
So i my problem is that i have recently baught an htc one m8 AT&T device . and i found that the android that it's running on it, is just for the demo units it's 4.4 kitkat , moreover i have also some issue with the hotspot option and the network choosing option, like i don't have the ability to choose which network to use 2G or 3G or 4G it's all the time 4G .and you all know that the M8 has got already the lollipop android version on April but mine still on it's demo android version
i have tried the hard reset but it did not work also the did the updates for AT&T apps also did nothing.
please if any one can help me out with a solution i will be more then thankful. also may you know that i'm not a professional android developer so if i goona need to have some files please provide me with them or their path
Was the phone advertised/described by the seller as a demo unit? If not, its obviously a fraudulent sale; and you should seek a refund or exchange, rather than messing with the phone any longer. This is not a fully functioning phone without significant mods by you, taking time and possibly even money.
Hard reset just wipes user data, and won't do anything to solve this issue.
Network type (2G, 3G, 4G) is locked out on the AT&T version, as is the WiFi hotspot. You may be able to unlock the bootloader and flash a custom ROM to make this a fully functioning unit. But you may also need to s-off the phone ($25 by sunshine).
Depending on your intention/response to the above comments, I'll be happy to help you more.
Thank you bro for your support. my problem is that i cannot go back to dealer because i'm not actually in the US and thing is i have contacted him by my brother who baught it for me from there, he said he didn't know about that problem till now ,he sent me some pictures of the other htc phones that he is selling and they turned out that all of them are just demo units and not for sell.
While i was looking on the internet i found that rooting my phone and installing a custom rom is my solution after all ,exactly as you said.

Not just any ROM. Since the device is on KitKat firmware, you will want a KitKat M8 ROM. Otherwise, you will have severe bugs, such as extreme long boot time (or no boot), or broken WiFi.
