Im considering the buying the amaze What kind of developer support can one expect? Im coming from an Evo and a Evo 3D.

When i had my Evo's I had a plethora of ROMs and Kernals to chose from. We had gingerbread months before it was official. Can I expect the same on the Amaze?
It will be released in tmobile and telus, so there should be some decent dev community. Not sure if this will be released in europe in which case there will be more devs like sensation.
I'm pretty sure there will be cm7 since they have it working on sensation and it should not be that difficult to get it over to amaze.

I hope not. Getting ansy over here. My wishlist for the day was that my conference call get cancelled, the NFL get back to work, and S-Off for the Evo 3D. I'm 2 out of 3 so far...

Yup, can't wait. And toastcfh likes to keep quiet about his project's and what he's working on. It would be a fabulous treat if he already had some progress on it, so we can start testing shortly after we get a recovery. Exciting times here in the Evo3d world.

Apparently a certain number of Sensations were shipped S-OFF. That's why you see ROMs over in the Sensation forum already.
What about miui rom, will their be one for 3d?

I'm taking that to mean that it didn't come shipped S-Off, but that could just be wishful thinking...
i am looking for the links now, but i heard in a few places that a coder for cyanagen was given a s-off sensation by t-mobile. So as much as i would love to be excited over the pictures of cm7.1 on sensation, its kinda been expected.

I know that everyone is still trying to get S-OFF, and really theres no real timeframe for it, but I had a Bliss Sense Rom on my G2 and it ran amazingly well. Anyway some Devs could throw one together?

i will be working on it but first trying to get stock sense 3.5 to run first then i will port the bliss rom

S OFF doesnt help at all, porting roms is kinda a pain in the ass

Sometimes porting ROMS are easy.
Like Sense 3.0 are literally 3 changes to get it booting.

It feels weird being on a stock rom without root and no recovery. I just hope it isn't like my Mytouch 4G when trying to get s=off and root it..
I don't know what the MT4G is like, but there are definitely some hoops to jump through here. I'm using the HTC dev method to unlock, but I'm still S-ON. I use 4ext recovery to flash ROMs, and so far all is well.

Oh I didn't know you can have a recovery and still be S=On.. on the Mytouch it was very difficult to get it off because since I got mine as soon as it came out, their wasn't much development on it but that is very cool to be able to do that
Welcome.
Read thoroughly on how to root and downgrade or if you want to stay S-ON, 4EXT Recovery is the way to go.
Fortunately, I don't have to worry about that. HBOOT 1.4, yea!

As soon as you root and stuff, I'd recommend flashing a sense 4.0 Rom. It's just so much better than sense 3.0/3.6 IMO

I recommend against that, especially if you came to 3D Land for the 3D, which no Sense 4.0 ROM has. They don't have 4G either, if you are in a 4G rich area.

Well I've had ICS since April (CM9, AOKP) so I definitely have had my fair taste of the sandwich and I still have yet to root this phone. The 3d is a gimmick and i'm pretty sure I will not use it as much, and Buffalo has no 4G never did so that doesn't matter either lol. Probably going to wait some more until a fully stable and functional sense 4.0, 4.0.4 Rom comes out with all the bugs fixed. At least this will help tame my flashing addiction for now and focus on the EVO's framework and working's and etc etc so I can start porting rom's to this device. That's what i'm hoping to do anyway's Still learning though

Hi guys, i have not really been active on the forums for the last 4 months or so, but I think its time to get into it some more.
I have a knack for finding apps, either paid or removed from market at other sources, so if you are having trouble with finding whatever app it may be let me know and maybe I can help you out.
I am also having a problem of my own that I would really like help with if anyone would. I can not get internet, data, 3g, or mms on my 3d thats been flashed to metro.
Im currently running hboot 1.5 unlocked, s-off, 2.17, rooted. And yes I have tried posting in the forum that the guide was in, but unfortunatly am unable due to less than 10 posts error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Less than a month ago was relased for the ONES S the jelly bean upgrade. Is there the possibility to see that on EVO one day? Is anybody working on it?

It was released at the end of December, but I think HTC has used some encryption on their recent RUU's to make them harder to port.

Probably this is the worst news ever for me htc hates us lol I hope there would be a method to decrypt RUU, because evo can go on a bit more with developing..
Probably not. The only thing we can do now is maximize the current technology available to us and hope for the best.

I think the developers will come up with at least one 4.1.1/Sense 4+ ROM for the Evo 3D if for no other reason than to prove that they can. The more obstacles HTC puts in the way the more of a challenge it becomes.
It just might take a little longer than ports done in the past. Tools like the one you linked will help.
