Yes, already enabled, other way ndrive or other apps say "enable GPS"
Me too on a sk17i (as signed) it could take up to five minutes to catch the signal but sometimes in the open, it's immediate. I think it's the GPS sensor which is not the best...

use fasterfix , if ur phone's rooted.
No rooted phone :-/ and no nearby plans to do it, another solution?
I have already tested the GPS with the ndrive and it works, but works really slow and with very bad accuracy :-S hope a software update fix this

in fact this saturday started to install GPS apps from the market, and GPS status was one of them, after that it works better... but still slow and with poor accuracy, miss the GPS of my x10 mini, was very fast and with good accuracy
Hello.
GPS problems on my sk17a too.
I use google navigation daily. I've had several Android devices, with varying degrees of success with GPS. Using navigation on the mini pro, I found at times the GPS sluggish to update my position and speed, hence my further investigations.
Using GPS test from market, I've observed the following:
Overall GPS signal strength is up to 10 DB below average signal strength on several simultaneous Android test devices, including nexus s, all set in airplane mode. GSM and wifi off, to prevent interference.
Then if you extend the physical keyboard on the mini, signals drop even more, dropping some sats along the way.
Poor GPS operation in my opinion as a subject matter expert in mobile communications and GPS.

guys, i can't let the gps using satellite in my optimus one to work...
always says "Waiting for location" .... like using the carhome or the navigation bundled applications pre-installed...
any fix please?
You have to wait for a lock. That's normal.
Also, Try waiting for a lock outdoors. GPS signals aren't as strong as the ones used in SMS and stuff.
@ kp
ive tried waiting for quite a long time but nothing happened...tried also outdoor but the same...
ive tried using GPS Test application to located GPS Satellites, and indeed it can locate some with low to average signals...but when i am going to use the pre-installed applications for tracking my location, it still can't.
ive searched the net and someone also is having the same problem using LG Optimus One as well.... >.<
Depending on your firmware this might be a bug. There were GPS problemes reported with certain firmwares. But you have to be patient too, because sometimes it takes a while until 2 or more satellites are found and locked.
You can try using free app like "Ulysse Gizmos" on monitoring gps, especially on lockon status.
& also try this tips to access the internal gps test menu @ link: goo.gl/ZFs6D
Our LG Optimus One P500 code is 3845#*500#
Do let us know how it goes.
Good luck!
I use the P500 whitout a data connection. So does have a sense set the gps in A-GPS or if i have the data not active i have to set it in a GPS Standalone?
restart phone and try again
are u using da stock rom?
@Hesediel
If you don't have data conection you cann't receive any maps, but it's no problem to use a-GPS. But without data you will simply have the geo-data, no maps. So that seems to make no sense.

Yes but i would like to buy an offline navigator like sygic, copilot, ndrive, something like that not the google maps/navigatopr for now, so it's better i use gps as standalone or is the same setting it as a-gps ms based?
it's a known problem.
I've got a p500 without data connection (I'm using wi-fi only).
The first week after flashing my phone the gps works fine.
Then afer a week the gps fix begins to be sloooow.
After a month it is very slow.
So I have to do an hard reset to turn the gps works well again.
Any utility (like gps status) that try to reset the gsp... fail.
The only known solution... is a ... sadly... hard reset.
I hope the someone will be able to write an application to do the same thing like the gps hard reset.
Use fasterfix, you can find this in android market.just search for "fasterfix"
Requires root, busybox and data connection during the initial GPS lock time.
Your gps will get a fix within seconds.

Well, i have the same problem and used the same solution. But now I just wait. Sometimes I "cold start" gps with GPS Status or even the "hidden" gps test menu and after waiting a little or a lot (30s or 10min) I get GPS fix. Anyway, restarting the phone seems to work well too.
I use my phone to track me while I run, and I have been very disappointed with the GPS accuracy of this phone. When I look back at the maps (I use Google My Tracks app), there are obvious mistakes and inaccuracies. Does anyone have any idea if there is specific information regarding the specs of the GPS used in the phone. There are settings I can tweak in the app I am using regarding GPS accuracy, but I need the specs of the phone's GPS to make sure I use the correct settings.
Thanks.
I use MyTracks for my job without issue and is about as accurate as it can get. You're never gonna have pin point accuracy with any GPS phone. It will get you within around 3 meters.
My advice is to make sure the GPS icon in the status bar is on and not blinking. If its not there it's using wireless to best guess your location. I've always had problems with GPS not activating properly with any ROM. Turning GPS off and on or even rebooting is the quick fix.
A good app to test GPS is called "GPS Fix" and its free in the Market.

Thanks dude...
I went out today and it was better than in days past, so perhaps there was some anomaly the last time. I did turn location by wireless networks off with the phone, and I bet that was the biggest difference. I also changed the polling frequency to automatically adjust for best accurracy.

I am using LG Net (P690) and have tried a few available roms but have been facing a constant problem in all of them, that is GPS won't work at all.
Tried GPS Status & Toolbox to clear the a-gps but nothing. It wont even detect the satellites.
Anyone with similar troubles..??
I am on CM7.2.3
First GPS fix may take an awful lot of time even with a-gps and good visibility if your phone does not have well synchronized time.
In case your phone is rooted, you might try fasterfix (available for free from the market) which enables you select physically close NTP server. For me, it helped getting the fix from sometimes more than 10 minutes to a couple of seconds.

I just installed T Donut HD 2.2.6 on my Xperia X10 Everything is working fine, I have just one problem with my GPS accurancy, the pointer is about 500 meters away from my real location or more and sometimes show me like if i were moving when i'm not. :silly:
what should I do? is there any fix? The problem occurs in google maps, and compass apps.
thnks
Just to be sure - you dont use it at home? If not try different app which using GPS or reflash ROM if you just installed it with all wipe.

You won't get signal if You're in a building. Instead of gps location the phone uses network location (wifi or data) which isn't so accurate

I was using the GPS outside.
if network location is enabled the pointer accurancy is higher, only with wifi. I tried with different apps, and the same, sometimes the pointer is 2 km away fro my real location, and it moves even if I'm not,
Hello,
I get a GPS fix within 10 seconds. But with Maps, however, the signal jumps back and forth. Also, the signal does not show exactly the location, or a few meters away. These problems are probably also known to the UMI users. Somehow I have read what of MTK tools, where this problem can be fixed. Can someone post a tutorial, or link?
Thx.
Hi, looking forward to fix the same issue... Any news?

Gday mate,
I was having similar issues with my GPS jumping to the street next to me whilst driving and getting itself all turned around. The other issue I had was bluetooth would not connecting to my car, so I tried a few things on this list: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/fix-nougat-bluetooth-issues/
Specifically what seemed to fix my bluetooth AND GPS was this: (I also set the passcode on the car to '0000')
"This is a really good fix, confirmed to work by many people. To reset your Bluetooth settings, fire up the Settings app, and locate and tap on Backup & reset option. Now, touch ‘Network settings reset’, and then ‘Reset settings’. Confirm this on next screen. Note: This will reset all your settings related to WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile data. Keep that in mind. If you need WiFi urgently, then better do this later on."
The above made my GPS a bit more stable. Since then I have updated the device to the latest beta: PLUS.V3.02_20170208_c239v55_kw_u3_no-DB and GPS is working perfect now. Link from bencebacsi on UMi Forum: http://www.mediafire.com/file/hh1069alx7v8i6i/PLUS.V3.02_20170208_c239v55_kw_u3_no-DB.rar
Best of luck mate!

It's not usable for this problem.
I tested Faster GPS after rooted, MTK tools, Engineering Mode, and another more tools and tricks, and nothing helped me with better gps signal on my UMI plus.
In enginneering mode I deleted data from hot, cold, warm and full gps start without A-GPS started, A set position from detected position, download new satellites positions, then start A-GPS and it was same how before. GPS signal on Mediatek chipset is bad.
Sometimes I have fixed 12 satellites, another time zero satellites. Gps signal jumping from zero to good in the car, or outdoor.
