Search for "Droid Explorer"
Once you've got adb running, first run

Then reproduce the error a few times, then

Well 2days ago I did a factory reset.. now them two days I was able to save Contacs .. well now 3rd day its back..
Was thinking it was the new ics Google plus but I installed not 2 min after reset and worked for two days ..
If any one can check and see if they can add contacts .. if u do let us know if u have the ics Google plus.. thanks..

Do you have go sms? Lets figure out what apps we have that are similar that might be causing this. Once i did the restore everything worked fine for two days now its starting back up again!!

Gave u a thanks for helping with this.. funny is last time I deleted Google plus it did t work. Or maybe I just didn't restart phone.
Just to add my 2 cents, I was having the same problem, removed Google+ ICS and downloaded straight from the market and that fixed my issue as well!
So glad I saw this thread, i was affected and hadn't yet realized. I never would have traced this back to google+!

I posted the screenshot, its a modded android.policy.jar. The images it points to are in the com.htc.resources.apk. They're all mixed up. Either someone needs the source to compile one that points to the correct image or hexedit htc.resources. I've had no luck. The working one I used is from a mt4g port to the nexus one. Hope you have better luck if you try. I have the list of resources and which numbers they should be if anyone is good @hexedit'n. I spent waaaay too much time trying already.

Just take the android.policy.jar from the ROM and push it to /system/framework
Like I said, it doesn't look pretty but its functional. You will also need busybox with pkill for the hot restart function. I've tried getting a hold of snq- no luck.

Got it to work by using root explorer, renaming, changing permissions and moving to /system/framework then rebooting. I wonder why adb wouldn't work...

Modified a script I found somewhere for turning off capacitive buttons. Made it so that they turn off until the phone tries to change it (either light level our screen state) or to make it stick until reboot. Anytime the script is run, it switches states for the buttons. You choose to make it stick or not.
Instructions:
Push the file to /system/bin
Now in adb shell or terminal, type
leds
for temporary change. Type
leds stay
for permanent change.
If you do a stay command, doing a regular command will return control to the phone.

It only works on some ROMs. Typically the ones with gpu tweaks and such it wont work, if not then use screen filter app. Thanks for the script though I do use it when I can.

That's what made me modify it... Original didn't work on synergy when in flashed it, so completely redid it and it works great now. Lot smaller footprint than an app, and I have terminal in wave launcher so it's a quick thing for me to do at anytime.

Yea im on vipers rom using it.
Not working for me. I am on Vipers ROM and whatever kernal he is using. I used ES file explorer to copy the file into system/bin. Then into terminal typed leds and it said permission denied. Typed su then leds and it said permission denied. Tried a restart and same thing. Did I miss something?
If you don't use adb to push the file, you need to edit permissions on the file. In terminal,

Tasker can probably do this.
Script manager will do it and let you set up a widget for it, just tried it. You can even set up for regular and another with arguments to make it stay. Free ad version in the market.

There is an app on the market called keyboard backlight controller. Free from the market, does exactly what you are asking.
Does anyone have the latest media hub apk for ATT GS2? I'm using a custom rom with an older apk, and now it tells me that I need to update to use media hub, but when I go to update, Market shows nothing. I think it has to do with compatability, media hub does work on my rom tho.
I'd appreciate if someone can post the apk, or pull it off a stock rom =D

I tried with a space, but no luck. I think it has to do with the fact that it is a samsung app and I'm guessing it's programmed to show up on market with TouchWiz. I'm not running TouchWiz. And from what I recall, when I was on UnNamed, it used TouchWiz I think.
Any thoughts? Is there a way to force Market to show all apps, regardless of what device is being used?

Doesn't work... and how would removing the sim work anyways? I'm sure it's a software issue as I've had mediahub show up on market previously.

Ok to begin I take no credit on any development of any kind with this app. Just saw this in the portal and read the thread and got it to work. Just simplified the installing instruction since it was Kind of confusing at first, and I added the app to another file host to download from since I couldnt download it from Mediafire, keep in mind the is about 29MB.

Fixed link, I just like how it talks back lol. Everything is slower on my Vibrant, I come from HD2 which has more ram, but maybe I just need add some tweaks or something.

It's a stock blur rom on a droid 4. 90% of the apps are unknown to me lol. Anything more specific?

I've seen this a couple times today, and so have a few others in the forums. It definitely doesn't seem device/ROM specific. I was thinking the same thing: "hope I'm not being hacked" lol.
This reminds me of a month or two ago, when I got a popup saying someone suspicious had tried to access my Google acct., but Google denied the login. That was different tho, because I myself was locked out of my acct. until I logged in on a pc and sorted it out/changed my password.

I would install pdroidand try to determine which app is asking for the password.
From there you should be able to determine whether it's legit or not.
I also recommend you install Droid Wall and see if any rogue app is trying to connect out to the internet.

And apparently the stock rom on droid 4 is not deodexed.
It's a shame though, pdroid looks fantastic. I'll give droidwall a spin and see what i find. I haven't got any notifications since last night though.

Too bad.
Give Droidwall a spin and see if you notice any suspicious connections. At least that should help you narrow down the list of potential suspect apps.
If you have the time and inclination I would flash another ROM and install Pdroid too. This is specially true if privacy is a big concern for you.

Indeed happened to me when trying to open thw new update for google+ i guess its a google+ bug

I'd love to, but the droid 4 rom scene is still rather buggy. A couple major issues still need worked out before i'd be willing to give them a spin.

I have a rooted LG G2x and got this sign in error yesterday while I was at work. I don't have G+ on my phone. The 4G and bars were not coloring in. I went to gmail account on internet and signed in, then rebooted. This error hasn't been back since. Server issue???
Could be. I've not had the issue resurface since I last posted.
