LG Optimus 2x seem to have problem with freeze /shut off problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041546
How about Galaxy S2? Anyone experience problem with it? I'm about to choose either LG 2x or Galaxy S2 right now for my next phone.
Thanks.
I had it 1 month unrooted, just a huge pile of apps installed. It rebooted 2 times by itself and some FC's on a nasty app, but just about it.
The software is very stable. Hardware side: below average audio quality / low volume (headset and speaker)
There aren't other problems noticed on my phone so far
No problems and no low audio either .

No problem here, completely on stock w/ latest kies firmware. Volume is fine here too w/ my headphones.
Low volume. It's a known bug and won't be solved, since it's on samsungs end and they don't care to fix it.
Just google it. You'll change your mind about buying into the sgs2 hype once you realize, like I did, how useless a phone that links media + phone volume to one bar, and has such low volume to begin with (especially if there is ANY ambient noise around you).
I have excellent sound volume other users who have sound problems have found fixes .

i would say the only issues with this phone are (mostly) the people using it....
Guys, I don't know what are you talking about... My speaker/headphones volume is just fine

Ok so first off, hi everyone . Newbie here with a question for you guys.
So my problem is, I have a 5 day old galaxy s2 and for some reason the camera is not performing as I expected it to.... Whenever I set it to record a video in 1080p the end result is always grainy/poor quality and the video is kind of slow. When I set it to record in 720p----and this part really pisses me off---- the video flickers at random intervals when I pan the camera around. It's quite the annoyance especially considering I spent so much $$ on this phone and you would expect it to perform as advertised. The lower res settings work fine though. BTW I'm running everything stock 2.3.4 Gingerbread (installed some apps/games and GoLauncher EX). My question is; has anyone experienced anything similar and if so what did you do to resolve the issue? If anyone can help me out or have any suggestions etc. I would greatly appreciate your help.
I did some searching around and apparently, it is a bug in the camera software as I thought.... Low lighting conditions causes a stutter effect and lag while auto-focusing in 720p. I know low lighting would have some effect on video quality but it only happens in 720p which leads me to believe its a software issue and hopefully not a defect. I dont know if all S2s have this problem but it sure is annoying and there is no official fix yet. Do any of you with rooted phones and 2.3.5 firmware suffer from this? I'm seriously considering rooting my phone now... BTW I messed around with the exposure setting in 1080p and that seemed to solve the 'grainyness' so at least I can rest easy now...somewhat. I still think this phone is the best though, no questions there. No minor issue can change that.
I'm coming from an iphone 4s and i find my s3 is much better, but it fails A LOT on the audio/video recording..
on the iphone it was pretty smooth, even in concerts with super bass and etc, great audio..
but in the s3 i can't hear any sound, just a lot of distortion and noise, even in my voice, i need to speak low when recording something.. too sad..
searched in here but i couldnt find any conclusive method/mod.. only people saying its some driver/codec/software problem, not with the mic or sound board (the s3 soundboard is great)..
I'm using CM10 (4.1.2) in my S3 and Siyah kernel..
is there any working mod to fix this problem? would make me very happy, i do a lot of videos..
thanks!
bump..
Yeah i use custom sammy rom sounds alot better and clearer

I have the powerbeats by beats by dre
The issue I have is that if I don't have music playing (I use PowerAmp pro) I can make and receive calls fine although the volume button etc doesn't work through the head phones. My biggest issue is that if I have music playing I cannot hear or speak throuh the headset. I need to use the phone. I am running Jellybean, international S3 I9300

The box says iphone and android. Blasted LIARS!!!!
Oh well, that's a $129 down the drain. Didn't sound that much better either if at all...........
The issue with there being so many Android OEM's is that they have different standards for the headset jack and ect. I think that the Powerbeats only work with HTC devices
Yeah this is definately a bummer. The talk control thingy was not working on Some of the old htc devices but a updated kernal fixed that and I had total control talk via handsfree and also skip back forward music etc.
Can this issue with beats headphone just lye with a kernal issue or is it definately headphones compatability issue with s3 . definately not android issue. Buttons issue was fixed due to the p2pjack kernal for desire hd.
I can on listen and control my music through headphones but not able to accept calls or talk.

Here is a funny thing.
I had a custom ROM and I've since flashed to stock. No change
I have a co worker with a stock S3 running 4.1.1 and it works perfect both my beats and her beats. I try it in a Note 2 with custom ROM works perfect. I try it in a Note 2 with stock ROM works perfect. I try it with another stock s# running 4.1.1 doesn't work.........
We're suppose to get in a new batch today, I will try the headsets with that and if it works I will list my device as faulty and swap out.
Every other headset works on my phone except beats.
OK, I think I've narrowed it down. It's a connection issue. I found that if I play with how far in I put the ead set piece into the phone determines whether it works or not. I found that with the piece inserted maybe a millimeter before being completly in it works........
None of the methods work for me. PowerBeats on ATT S3 4.1.1 I hate this so much. They work perfectly on my work phone! Blackberry 9900. Are you kidding me... works on blackberry but not the S3....?
Anyone find a trick or fix? Connections on stock Samsung headset and PowerBeats match up perfectly.
hello guys
i wanted to ask you if anyone hears the bad bluetooth sound quality from the htc one x+.
maybe i'm just to audiophile, but the sound on (good) bluetooth speakers sound terrible.
i read alot about it and found out a few things:
-i heard the issue is in the so called "bluetooth bitpool setting". manufacturers always this setting to low, so there are no problems with the connectivity, but the sound quality is bad. so the sound quality of the stock rom is really, really bad. i'm talking about listening music. specially the high frequencies are sharp and crashing...it sounds like a very bad mp3 file.
now there are custom rom's with fixed bitpool settings. i tried out a few ones and there is actually just one rom that haven't this bad sound:
cyanogen mod 10. all the oder rom's have this sound problem: cyanogenmod 10.1, android revolution hd 6.2 and stock...
do you know this problem? would love to use more rom's with good sound

I also have this issue when listening to BT audio music in my car. I haven't tried any ROMs yet to compare.
From my brief amount of research it seems to be an issue that only pops up between specific hardware. My phone sounds great in some other cars but not in mine while the HOX and iPhone5 sound great in my car.
Just an update. I am running Elegancia's latest ATT release and it appears to have fixed the problem for now.
Just another update.
It appears audio is perfect upon initial pairing but after disconnecting the audio distortion comes back the next time the phone is automatically paired.
Why would it sound fine the first time you pair a device and then sound different the next time it connects automatically?

If you're experiencing this on the Elegancia ROM, let Steve know about this.

I would love to, but how? I can't post in that forum.

Hi Guys,
I've recently purchased a Moto E XT1021 and am dismayed that it has the same audio hissing issue that some of the LG phones have suffered from. The exact problem is demonstrated on a YouTube video entitled "LG G2 KitKat Audio Issues (hissing noise)".
It appears that LG have acknowledged the problem but I wondered if anyone was aware of an existing or future fix that will work on the Moto E? I've tried the latest stock, CM11 and SlimKat ROMs but the hissing is present on all of them. This is very annoying when listening to soft music like piano pieces.
I don't want to purchase any more headphones because I already own several branded pairs that sound great on my other devices.
I've tried the suggested solutions of turning off DSP effects, using aeroplane mode, using PowerAmp etc. but these don't impact on the hissing.
Cheers.

Interesting, I did not notice this. Also after extended listening with a good headset. Maybe it differs between batches? Ive also got an XT1021.

Thanks for confirming that.
Are you using in-ear headphones? All mine are 16 or 32 ohm and are the ear-canal type. My phone was purchased in the UK.
Also got an UK phone and used a Sure in-ear headphone....
Will double check tomorrow!

Nice one.
I've just located my old Sony MDR-V6 'over-ear' headphones and they have no hiss when connected to my Moto E. However, this doesn't surprise me because I've seen the interesting thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611599, regarding the poor Opamp on the Moto G.
I'm still curious whether this can be 'fixed' with a software patch or if it's purely down to poor audio hardware. It seems pretty lame that a device from 2013/2014 can sound as bad as the old cassette tapes from my childhood.
Wow, there really is quite some hissing when using my Sure headphone
Don't know why I did not notice this before....
My other headphones sound great!
