[Q] Can't download apps from market - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I have a 32gb wifi flyer from bb, and I just started having problems where I cannot download or update apps from the market? Also, I went into the superuser app and it now fc's on me. However, I still show s-off in recovery and root explorer is granted root access. Anyone have any ideas to help? I tried clearing data on market & download manager. Still not working.

Try logging into the Market from a computer, as you can install apps that way too. I had to do that with SU and then it worked fine.

Super user app had a bug and has been updated today. install the update.
Also if you still have market problems, do this in sequence.
settings applications manage
Goggle framework - clear data
Market - clear data
Reboot
wait a few minutes
open market
wait a few minutes
my apps
uninstall some app, any app
reinstall the app
close market wait a few minutes
open market
everything should be back now

Thank you, this worked!

Market Problem

After rooting I did the Market Fix and installed the Market.
Later It started to work but whenever I try to download a free application it is stuck on Starting download....
I thought at first oh okay...
I waited 5 minutes it was still stuck like that and I tried being close to my wireless router...
Nothing helped and I restarted the phone...
So just asking how am I supposed to download applications now from the Market after I rooted?
I also did fake my provider and thought that would work?
PLEASE HELP I AM DESPERATE!

it might help to state where you are from, I am rooted and unlocked and the market works just fine. The more info you give the better the help
Try going in to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Market -> Uninstall updates. I tried this and it got my market working again.
Since two days there are problems with the Market. I can´t download anything, too.
Well I am from the Dubai and rooted it here...
I got superuser and managed to install Vending.apk aka the Market
I tried to download but it is stuck on starting download...
I just uninstalled updates....

Thank you so much!!! Your suggestion made it working for me again
Hi, I'm having a similar problem here. My Market is apparently working correctly, I can search and download apps. But I've been having some problems with some apps that can't find on the Market although being available.
I did the MarketFix when I rooted and updated my phone to RB2BA026. An example of an app that can't find on Market: Multitasking Lite.
BTW, when you say "Market->Uninstall updates", are you talking about removing "Market Updater", because I can't find anything about uninstalling updates of the Market app.

When it stopped listing certain apps I went in to the 'market' app info and clicked 'clear cache'.
When it stopped working altogether (a few weeks later after the silent market update) I went in to the 'market' app info and clicked on the 'Uninstall updates'. The market updated itself 3 days later without any issues.
To cover all approches I'd suggest clearing the cache and then the updates. Then turn off the phone and do a battery pull. I hope this helps.
There's no "Uninstall updates", so I've tried first removing "Market Updater" but nothing happened. So then I tried removing "Market" to install again from a backup I supposedly have done before, but for my surprise Titanium Backup wont restore the Market app backup.
Now I'm with no Market app at all! So I need it from someone, please PM it.

The fix mentioned here only works as long as the Market doesn't automatically redownload itself, at which point I have to uninstall it again. That's fine most of the time, but what do you do when it automatically updates the market as soon as you uninstall the update?
I have purchased apps that no longer recognize that I bought them because of this market update that keeps going on without my permission. Is there some way to stop or block the update until this gets fixed? I'm getting very tired of being called a pirate by several apps I legitimately bought.

[Q] How to reset market?

So I put all my apps to auto update, a feature of the new Market. Bummer is my wifi cut off apparently in the middle of an installation or something because one app is stuck on "Installing" and never installs. It's always stuck in this state and because of that I can't uninstall/reinstall it. I manually uninstalled it thinking it may fix market but it didn't and now I can't find it anywhere except on the market.
I know if I reflash my whole ROM, the market will be fixed but I'd rather NOT have to do that cause it simply is too much work. Is there any simpler way to reset the market?
You can go to menu settings, applications, manage appications, menu show all and reset the cache/data of the market app.
Thx. I actually figured it out by uninstalling the updates to it and then reinstalling it. Worked perfect

Market Says app purchased??

So i need some help
Im trying to purchase some apps and I had apks for them previously to test them out and now im actually trying to buy one and it says purchased on android market
so i tried clearing the market data and cache and such but no luck
and when i click install on the app it just says cant install because you havent purchased the app
you would need to flash a stock ROM.
I had the same issue, this is what I did:
1. NAND backup
2. Flashed rooted stock ROM
3. Purchase apps
4. Restore NAND backup

After using a stolen app (or "testing" as you call it) it will cause this issue even if you uninstall the stolen software. You can use TB to freeze the old market and market updater. Download an apk of an old market version, unfreeze market, and conduct the purchase of the app. Once done, unfreeze the updater and reboot, and it will then show as purchased and be correct. There seems to be no other way.
Basically get an old version of the market running. You may have to use TB to detach the app from the market too.
How can you steal something that isn't corporeal anyway?

If Reinstall the app and then use Titanium backup you can Detach it by long pressing on which ever app your trying to purchase by selecting Detach from Market, then uninstall it and look it backup on the Market!!
What I've done (and its worked for me) is to clear all defaults, cache and data of the app before uninstalling.
Try reinstalling the apk, and doing that first then download from the market and see if it workes for you too

You can go to the Android market from a computer and purchase the apps. They don't show up as purchased. I think this is the easiest way around it. If i helped hit thanks.
Finally got it working!! It seems that on old Market versions this bug did not exist. So I did the following:
Method 1:
1. Go to Settings\Applications\Manage applications\All\
2. Look for "Market" or "Google Play Store"
3. Click on "Uninstall Updates"
4. Now go to the Market (should be the old green/white version) and install your desired app. It should no longer say "Purchased" and Presto!!
But you have to be fast before the market updates itself to "Google Play Store" or you can freeze the "Market Updater" app using Titanium Backup so you can do your thing without worring of it updating to the new version.
Method 2:
Find an old Market apk and replace the current one. Not sure which version it works because once I purchased my app it immediately updated the market and didn't give me chance to see the version .Should be the green/white app we had before.
Hope it works for you guys too!

Google Play not Downloading Apps?

Is anyone else having issues with the play store? I can't download any apps or update them... It says "downloading..." and never gets to the part where it shows how much has been downloaded. I restarted my phone... No luck. My Internet works fine, the browser works great, but no Play Store. Is this a widespread issue? I'm on Charmeleon ROM. Had no issues before with it, and I've had it for days. Thanks everyone!

i was having the same problem until now it just started working out of no where all i did was power off. then hold down volume down and power until you get to the hboot screen chose fastboot then reboot.
I wiped everything and flashed a new ROM for the heck of it. Works perfect now. I have a feeling it was just Google Play being a brat. I think the timing was coincidental. But who knows?

You had luck. Wife's HTC Desire stucks in "downloading...".
I tried:
- kill, clear data, uninstall updates (Google Play/Market, Downloading service, Market updating service)
- change user password
- restore phone to default
- revert phone/flash to system default (using HTC updater, then applied HTC's oficial OTA updates)
And Google Play is not working. Big issue is that more services are not working, including Maps, Chrome2phone. After resetting phone to default few minutes is Market working (until it downloaded update to Google Play).
But "Talk" is working fine. Home WiFi (no restriction) or 3G. Second Android phone on same WiFi and same 3G works without issues.
I've had that a few times but just hit cancel update then hit update again then it worked. I am more frustrated that apps don't download/update when u leave the market before they are done or turn your screen off

I too am having same issues. I can get Play to run but it will lock up past that. Browser blank as well. Wiped cache and etc, issue repeats.

I had the same issue too, stuck at the "Downloading...." so i tried to uninstall the update through "System > Application > All > Google play store" but it got stock again while uninstalling the google play. so i used titanium backup and did "Wipe data" (Do not uninstall from titanium backup since it will remove the whole thing not just the update)
then went back to "System > Application > All > Google play store" and did an uninstall. so it removed the update only.
I started the program and got the message telling me that google market is now called google play store... blah blah..
the version became 3.5.x (cannot remember) and it worked great...
after a while it updated it self to the latest (3.8.17) at the time of writing this, and it still works and I can download and install apps.
:good:
BTW, i am have a Samsung Galaxy Note (from AT&T) running 4.0.4
(i reached this thread while googling for the problem, but hopefully the same solution will apply to other phones)
Also: clear media cache
Another thing that helped me with this problem (different device, admittedly) is to clear the media cache (Settings -> Apps -> All -> Media Storage -> Clear Data). You wouldn't think that this would affect the Google Play store, but I have a large side-loaded MP3 collection & sometimes media crawler problems affect just about everything.
just follow this
do this
Make sure you've cleared the cache and data of both the Google Play store app and the download manager. Here's how:
Visit Settings > Apps on your device
View All apps
Select the Google Play store app, and then tap Clear data and Clear cache.
Then, select Download manager and tap Clear data and Clear cache.
it came for google online support
YES! Can't install/update apps
I am having this same issue. My HTC Droid Incredible 2 has been rooted, and running Gingerbread 2.3.4. Google Play store was operating as it should. Today I installed a build of Cyanogenmod 10 (update-cm-9.0.0-RC0-vivow-BRACKETKANG-04_08_12-signed-v.3) with Jellybean (Android 4.1.1). I flashed the corresponding gapps download (gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip) from cyanogenmod.org. This is the thread I used to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779986
I have re-flashed the gapps, cyanogenmod, and even tried various other cyanogenmod and gapp versions. I can not download or update apps. I accepted the terms, etc and it says downloading indefinitely. I have tried emptying the cache, force closing, reinstalling Google Play. I have also downloaded older versions of the app. Currently, I have version 3.9.16 installed. I have been using clockworkmod to install cyanogenmod and gapps, if that is helpful information.
I have scoured the internet looking for a solution. I am not allowed to post on the above mentioned thread, I guess I haven't posted on XDA enough in order to have access. If there is anymore information I can provide that would make it easier/possible to solve this problem, please let me know!
Thank you very much,
Darman

[Q-View] Market Updater disabled - Google Play

Stock View4G running Gingerbread.
settings> applications> manage applications> all> market updater:
My market updater app is grayed out except for move to sd option. How do I get this to start running again. Hopefully once it becomes active again, Market will automatically update to Google Play. Anyone with GB, is your Market Updater active or grayed out? And did your Market app automatically update to Google Play?
Try clearing data and cache of the market app from that same list, restart tablet and wait to see if market updates
If not, you might need to upgrade

Ok good. I did what u suggested and the Market Updater app is up and running again. It's Force Stop button became available again. Market hasn't updated to Play yet, but at least I know its active and possibly looking for the Google Play update. Eventually, if this doesn't work, I may have to install the Play Store apk manually. I hate to take the manual route because it doesn't feel "official" and I don't want to wreck the tablet with bugs and glitches.
