Hello,
i have a serious issue with my wifi on my phone.
I often have no connection, however, the icon is green, and i have an ip address given by my wifi router.
I can't open web pages, it gets stuck on loading.. ( with android market, internet stock browser..etc)
For example, 80% of the time, in XDA App, it stuck at Receiving from server :'( and i have no problem with the app in 3G.
I have to disable and reactive the wifi to open the web page.
Sometimes, i don't have a green icon, but a white wifi icon
I can't have a stable wifi connexion even for 5 minutes.
I have the latest version of cognition rom 1.5.1
What can i do? It can be a hardware problem?
I have changed to static ip, but i have the same issue.
I don't have any problem with other devices in my home.
Thank you for your help.
Please help me

Try KH3 or Ki3 or 8 Modem .
hardware test would be to flash stock rom and try.
You would need to flash stock rom and reset custom rom counter if returning to service centre otherwise warranty void .
jje
For the moment with ki8 stock, everything run fine...
I'have to use wifi several days, and i'll feedback
Thank you

+1 with this issue,
but i am on stock xwkf1 cf root 4.1
also here, we are still stuck on 2.3.3
I have been flashing roms and rooting for months but i just faced this wifi problem today and it was driving me crazy until i could fix it.. read around the forums and i tried flashing stock rom again and that seemed to fix the problem.
i was looking for just modem files but couldnt find so flashed intratechs KI8 FW with KI4 modem and this has fixed wifi problem and can finally access net again..
This makes me wonder if the problem occured while flashing the insecure kernel for rooting. But i sure did flash original kernel after and wifi was working fine for 2 days before it gave it.. so still cannot locate source of problem if any of u have suggestions then might help the many others having same problem. I would suggest flashing a stock rom and testing it out for few days without rooting to see if problem still persists.
Wifi fixer from the app market does seem to fix the problem.
Might work for non rooted too.

Right, ive noticed a few prople have had similar problems but nothing that is the same as what im am experiencing.
basically, about 6 weeks ago i flashed the Alien v4 rom (wanted to retain webtop else i would have chosen cm7). this has worked flawlessy till now. Ive suddenly started having issues with wifi and data connectivity.
When connected to wifi i get internet access for aropund 2>10 minutes. then i lose it, although my phone still says im connected to the network. When i turn off the wifi, i check the wireless setting and it says that mobile networks are not connnected. when this happens, the data icon in the task bar is grey not green, ive noticed i only get a connection when its green.
System version:
4.5.91.MB860.ATT.en.US
Baseband:
N_01.100.00R
Webtop:
WT-1.2.2-110
Kernel:
[email protected]#3
I had the same problem before, a few months ago. Think it was just an issue with the ROM I was using. Have you tried a different ROM?
Not yet, will be when i get home. I was under the assumption however that alien was the best (webtop rom) in terms of speed and stability
Just backup your ROM in recovery - try out as many ROMs as you'd like to try. You might find one that both resolves your problem and suits you better, and as long as you have that backup you can just jump straight back in where you left off with your current ROM.
I have a backup anyway. Always make one once I know a rpm works after flashing. Been flashing for too long with many a handset to not keep backups. Ive learned the hardway with this haha

I have a problem with my data once i enter right apn settings for my phone network i can see the data connection near the signal bars. Letter H. I can recieve messages from facebook through data but i cant do any outgoing things like access google play log in to facebook search the web etc. I have to use wifi. Prior to that i was running wanam rom. And i wanted to try out arhd. And i noticed the problem there so i switch back to wanam and the problem still persist. Aldo i dont know if it has anything to do with it but the enable/disable apn and apn protocol options in mobile networks on phone is grayed out. Maybe a bootloader problem? If so how so how do i fix it? Otherwise how do i fix thisnissue? Thanks in advance.

You may have flashed a new modem when you were playing with custom ROMs, check the sticky thread for advice on radio firmware and how to replace yours.
Also check your RIL matches your radio version, GETRIL from the play store may help you identify/solve the problem - but make sure you understand what you are doing before you flash anything.

as far as flashing rooting iam well informed on that matter. well, in regards to flashing modems. im on wanam 4.3 to be exact lj5, there is an optionin aroma to update modem etc. i always choose to do so and all was good. now trying out the arhd 15.2 to be exact (also lj5), DOES NOT have the option in aroma to update modem. and if it does it automatically i dont think it would make any difference since both roms i flashed is both based on lj5.
on a the side note i did flash the new lk4 rom from wanam just to test it out. used it for 2 days. all went well but wanted to go back to lj5, just because but even after reverting back to lj5 my data/apn was still still working fine. ( note that i did this prior to OP incident.)
btw i dont know anything about RIL etc.
no answer? i managed to get getril from playstore. and it says my baseband is i9300dddlj1 my ril is uknown.

I have had Cyanogen 9 running fine for a few months. About 2 weeks ago I changed the modem, but I don't think that should be the cause of my current problem (but I could always be wrong).
Out of nowhere, apps suddenly started crashing. Everything I was using gave me a crash message. Dogcatcher and Facebook, in particular. I rebooted and the phone did not get past the Cyanogen boot screen.
I've tried to re-rom it, but CWM Recovery seems to be gone too. It goes straight into download mode. I tried to flash 6.0.1.2 with Odin but nothing changes. It still puts me into download mode.
Edit: Just found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458&highlight=unbrick
I'll play with that for a minute here. Fingers crossed.
In future......

Also, your device is not "bricked". Just go into download mode, flash Siyah v4 kernel, reboot into recovery and then flash rom, done!
Yes yes, I did a fair bit of searching before posting. It just so happened that very soon after posting, my searches actually turned up something! lol
Trying Siyah. Brb...
Edit: Odin does not seem to like .zip files. I'm using Odin 3.07. Do I have to change it to .tar?
More edit: OMG, nothing I'm trying is working. This is really bad timing. I need this phone RIGHT NOW. I'm sorry for being a noob, but I desperately need help.
Still editing: Ok, I've worked out that there's a difference between a CWM .zip package and a .tar Odin package. I've got Siyah 5 installed now. I just need to find a way to get the rom onto the sdcard so I can flash Cyanogen 10 (since 9 apparently doesn't work with this kernel). Normally this would be easy, but I'm traveling at the moment and don't have all my gadgets and adapters with me.
WiFi ? Lots of apps on Google Play enable WiFi transfer (from a PC or whatever). If you "don't have all your gadgets" & no access to a PC of some description with WiFi (or a card reader even), you're not fixing it.
Edit - Or...(I forgot the bleeding obvious). Download the file(s) you need directly to the phone from CM's site/whatever using WiFi somewhere (hotel/net cafe/elsewhere); will be infinitely cheaper than using a carrier's network (unless you're using your home carrier or have a good data allowance cheap data. If you're roaming this could be expensive).
Hello guys:
I am experiencing an Issue with my Galaxy S5 (T-mobile version). Everytime I turn on my device, it switches to "Factory Mode" and it turns off my wi-fi connection. (I am attaching a screenshot). Then, when I try to turn on my wi-fi the phone go to reboot.

I've already read some solutions using "root", and the root file explorer but I've not gotten any success (due to all tutorials are for other phones). Also I couldn't find any case for Galaxy S5. :crying:
Currently, as a workaround, I've installed CM11 and I didn't got the "Factory mode" message. Then I used "Omega Rom" and my phone works nice.
Well, I know you are the experts here and I would like to know if this problem could be related with the "Kernel"?. I got this conclusion because Omega Rom and CM11 have a different kernel name than Stock version.
I will appreciate all your comments to solve my doubts.
Thank you guys,:good:

I don't even know what Factory Mode is but if you're on Omega (a very good rom by the way) at this point you can probably flash the latest factory rom with Odin and it should function correctly. If not, then I'd have TMO replace the phone. There are several threads in this section (XDA T-Mobile S5 Forums) that explain how to flash the latest firmware.
Good Luck!
If I've helped please push the "Thanks" button.
In fact, that was the first thing I did and I 've not gotten success. I will wait for the Stock rom version with Android 5.0 and try again. Thank you
Hello guys.
A few weeks ago i started having problems with my redmi's wifi. Without doing any kind of update or change any settings, the wifi and even the Bluetooth would go down frequently and as time passed this only got worse. Eventually, after a reboot, i couldn't turn the wifi on as showed in the image.

I've tried doing a system update, i'm using Lineage OS 14.1, and i tought that it was working again since i was able to toggle the wifi on and connect to a network. But after a few minutes it went down again. Since then i've tried to flash other roms, even the original MIUI and the problem persists. After flashing or even after an occasional reboot, i'm able to turn on and connect to a network but as always it stops working. With Bluetooth i also have a few problems, like having to forget a paired device and reboot to pair the device again. Since with a clean flash or 1 out of 10 reboots the wifi kind of works, i'm hoping that this isn't a hardware problem.
I've tried to search the internet for a solution, but almost every time that i find something with redmi 3, it's basically redmi note 3 posts/threads. Does anyone had a similar problem or have any ideia how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
FYI phone status:
I met the same problem, hope someone knows how to fix it.
Same problem with my brother's phone, he was on miui and started getting that "MAC 02:00:00:00:00:00" on wifi
I'm trying to recover it, if it's software related then it is due to the NVRAM partition, accessed with QPTS, but that's strange because mobile network works without any issue.
I dumped my nvram and i'm trying to find the actual mac address, if i'm able to change it and successfully recover it i'll post something. The bad news is that i need a clean nvram to double check, because mine is already damaged. I may get my hands on another working redmi 3 soon, hope that will help
You need a nvram partition backup? is valid a backup of twrp? My redmi 3 is working perfect.
