Heya!
I'm a little confused as to what Frequencies for 3G the SGSII will support - are the data sheets true and it actually is ready for 3G Quadband? So I'd be able to use the phone I buy over here in the UK on the AT&T Network and I'd still be able to use the 3G connectivity?
Thanks for the clarification!

Yes, you can use with ATT in the US. Galaxy S2 has 850/1900 3G bands which is what ATT uses.
agree, I am on AT&T, using it. the phone software is not yet perfected in terms of 3g/4g, but that effects all users around the world.
Awesome, thanks for the clarification!
Hello,
My gf wants to buy a SGS2, here in china, and we find 2 verison.
One is : GSM, WCDMA
Other is : GSM, WCDMA, HSPA+
I tried to get some info about HSPA+ on the net (as I don't know anything about it) I read somewhere its 4g, other place its better 3G...
So i don't know what to think about it. Its 100Euro more expensive, is it really interesting ? As we live in china, the internet mobile is soso~ so maybe she doesnt need this technology ? Or is it better to take a phone HSPA+ for future ?
Does HSPA+ or not change something if china got only 3G service ? (is this the small H+ that i see on my French SGS2 ? )
Thank you for your advice !
Hi folks
I just moved to the US (about a week ago) and was wondering why my mobile internet connection is so slow.
I have a SGS2 factory unlocked and i was fine with it in Germany (no problems with 2g or 3g speed)
Now I'm in the US with a t-mobile prepaid card which should give me 3g speeds , if not 3g at least EDGE Speed. But the only thing i get is the E-sign with 2 arrows which is friggin slow.
As far as i know t-mobile's 2g & 3g frequencies should be the same as in Europe.
So my question: Is my phone the problem or is it just that the 2g/3g coverage in San Diego is so bad ?
thx in advance
its normal...coz sgs2 does not support t-mobile 3g bands....but it does support at&t 3g bands....i am also using t-mobile prepaid plan...and dont use data that much...coz everywhere i go i have wifi....

ah ok thx for the reply
do you happen to know if an factory unlocked iphone (without sim lock bought directly from apple) will be able to use the US-3g bands as well as the European ones ?
as far as i know....it will be same as sgs2....only supports at&t 3g bands.....no t-mobile.....
Ok thx man.. Guess I gotta ask them directly then

Asking who directly? T-Mobile USA? You can ask, won't change the answer. If you want 3/4g in the US with either a European Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) or an unlocked iPhone, you will need to be on AT&T.
T-Mobile doesn't use the frequencies that those two phones support.

E-sign = EDGE.
So if i buy me i9100 s2 and i put at&t sim card, i live in texas USA will i get at least 3g signals?

USA uses different bands from the rest of the world because, well, idk
North America:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
CDMA: Band Class: 0/1/10
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8/19
LTE: Bands: 1/2/4/5/17/19/25/26/41
Rest of World:
GSM: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
WCDMA: Bands: 1/2/4/5/6/8
LTE: Bands: 1/3/5/7/8/20
This might be the case here, i don't think its carriers fault but idk really.
Hi everybody,
The previous HOX was not supporting the 3G data on t-mobile due to lack of HSDPA 1700 as far as I realized. It seems that the same problem remains with the new HOX+ too since it cannot support HSDPA 1700.
Does anybody know something about it?
Thanks in advance

You should check the spec sheet at htc.com

Here's a complete list of AWS carriers worldwide. You can count them on your fingers. If you were a manufacturer, would you go out of your way to include the AWS bands on your unlocked global phones?

airportal.de (site works on laptops but not good on phones at least for me)
I think when T-mobile refarms the area you live in this might give you 3g for unlocked ATT phones and international versions also.

I hope it goes as you said in our region. I've seen an AT&T version of HOX+ which will support more Network frequencies as well as LTE. Would it really matter in my case? Should I go with the unlocked AT&T version or an international version?
I'm waiting until the dust settles on the refarming and on the next batch of nexus phones. Then the selections and used prices should really improve.

Now there is also a Telus HTC One X+.
Does anyone know if it will work on Wind Mobile in Canada?
Hello everyone, first time on this huge forum, I hope I'm not breaking any rules, pretty impressed by the community.
Here is the story : I'm french, currently in Australia. Thanks to my engineering studies, I travel a lot. So in the few next years I will be in france, in los angeles and in australia or mexico. Here in australia, phones are cheap thanks to kogan.com, so I decided to fall into the world of smartphones
(and It will be a S3 4G 16Gb for 290 euros or a S4 4G 32Gb for 440 euros, still trying to make my mind if those 150 euros of difference worth it or not) (I think It must be one of the best price worldwide for those phones, mainly cause of kogan and also I get the GST back when I'll left australia)
My question is this S3 or S4, will it be able to follow me around the world ? for the call/text, but also for the 3G ? for the 4G ?\
Thanks in advance, and again sorry if I'm not respecting a rule
Cheers

Compare network frequencies in the country you are going with the specs of the phone.
This is the 3G Q&A section.

Thanks for the answer. I think it's the SGH-I747
here is the beast :
2G Network 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
3G Network 850, 900, 2100MHz

Is it gonna be good for all my countries ? I think so, It's really close from the international version, except for the 3G 900Hz
EDIT : I'm just worrying about USA/Mexico, I found the map of GSM world coverage, its says for those countries : 2G 1900 850 3G 1700/2100, 3G 850/1900
Will the 3G be working ?
SGH-I747
Ask in the SGH-I747 forum this is I9300 only .
