Article doesn't mention our beloved EVO 3D specifically, but hopefully we'll get it soon.

What? Hero is evolving... Hero evolved into EVO 3D!
"There are many devices still in beta status (Pyramid, Doubleshot, Shooter, HP Touchpad, Optimus 3D, several more) that we will be promoting to release or release-candidates in the next few weeks when the code is merged to our main branch.."
Not bad seeing that the 3d is still in alpha .
Thrilled !
I cannot wait to have CM7.1 on My Touchpad, as well as my Evo3d. This is a terrific rom, and honestly I Would love to see devices released that come with this software stock. Although, it seems like a pipe dream.
Wouldnt it be nice to have a "Mobile Phone Configurator" , kinda like the ones PC companies use when you spec out your machine when you go to buy it ?

EDIT: Took a screenie of the wiki. If I'm not mistaken, that is 7.1.

There's a German company Synapse that is allowing you to spec out custom Android phones, their website is having trouble loading atm though. Here's a link to their twitter or something.

Bought this phone off of the marketplace on android forums. from what i can tell so far is that its a really nice phone. feels nice in the hand, battery cover is nice and grippy. fiddled with the home screens a little bit, pretty snappy. havent really been able to get into the phone yet so i will update later with my thoughts. but i can honestly say that the Evo 3D will have its hands full with this phone. its a BEAST!

motoblur runs smooth? that would be a really big step for motorola..
rootable???? i had to. but in all seriousness, looks like a sweet phone. just wish it didnt have motoblur crap on it. 9 gb internal???????
Yeah I like it so far. Looking forward to activating it later to test it out. And I'm not big on android skins like sense and blur, i like the stock launcher. So as soon as I get a phone LPP goes on it. As close to a stock launcher I can get til there is some CM7 love.

Now I gotta read about it and decide
Has anyone seen the work here on the DInc. They have achieved a way of having multiple custom roms loaded at the same time ( thanks to EMMC ) and hot swappable(is that a word?) like switching launchers almost... Can one of you, way smarter than me devs attempt to re-create this for the 3VO.... Please!!!!!

That would be sweet. It was either here or on the OG Evo forum they were talking about it. I sure hope its this one
:fingers crossed:
Theres a program in the market called boot manager that does the same thing. I sent a device support request for the 3d. Hopefully they will support our device soon. I can fight paying 3 bucks for a multi Rom situation without the wiping and backing up.
Ohhh I need something like that so badly!!! Then I need some kick ass roms too!
Right now I need something, anything to flash, I've been going through withdrawals for a month, and I finally got a taste of that sweet bootloader crack! But I need MMOOOAAARRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The author of Boot Manager is conap. He is also the OP in the DualRom thread mentioned in OP of the thread we are reading. Conap suggests using his app. More information on pages 2 and 3 of his thread. I've been following it for a while. Hopefully he'll update his app so it works with the 3VO.

I know some have asked, and I've been trying to go back also. Here is an old market apk if you would like to revert. Found it after a little bit of digging. I installed it right over my newer and it was fine. Once you install this, remember to rename the marketupdater.apk to marketupdater.apk.bak (just for an example), or you can delete it completely if you wish. (Wouldn't recommend that tho) This market will not check for the density of the screen AND when you search for an app, you will actually be able to see all the results. Until Google fixes the new one, I'm staying with this one. If you can't get it to install over your current one, go into /system/apps and delete the vending apk and put this one in there. If this has already been posted somewhere, forgive me. Didn't see it. And if you need any help, feel free to pm me or on gtalk and we'll get it working one way or another.

No problem. Glad I could help. I prefer this one over the new one for now. I can find a lot of different stuff that I could't.
Epic, Jay.
The "no density check" thing is absolutely a humongous deal.
Q: Will the Chainfire "fix market" hack work with this version, or have you tried?
Edit: this is the kind of thing that too many Android users don't know about. My suggestion to you would be to spread this hack around, and not just limit it to tbe Evo3d forums.. There are a jillion users with other devices that could absolutely benefit from this.
Just my 2 cents.
Re-edit: See, I followed your instructions in the OP, and it worked perfectly on my "Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch 4G from Sprint", (or whatever silly name they're calling this phone today.) Thanks again.
Thanks man! Hate the new market :/

Maybe I'll copy and paste the O.P. and put it somewhere else too. I've seen one in the games and apps section, but I don't think it's this version. Actually its another hacked version that I can remember. I think this one is much better.

Warm TwoPointThree does.
Basically any ROM based on the old OTA will have a working camera. All Sense 3.0 based ROMs will have working 4G. So get a 3.0 based ROM based on old OTA and it all works.
Warm TwoPointThree (3.0) revision 547 has everything you want.
Also Eternity r74
He said non sense roms.
Cyanogenmod7 (Android 2.3) Has functional but no 4G. Search for cyanogenmod in the dev section.
If you check the second post of the Android Revolution thread, he has a sense less rom.
Here is a link:

Here is another Senseless ROM

Cyanogen Mod 7 is working everything but 3D and 4G, you don't care for 3D so whatever, but 4G is in fact in the works (right?)

No.
Those "Senseless" ROMs are still Sense based ROMs, they just have most of the HTC Sense UI and features removed. It is still a larger ROM size and less efficient on memory than a real AOSP ROM. But you lose 4G on any AOSP for this phone.

Yes.
Work in progress doesn't mean he'll actually get it working though. It means that he's trying. Its not "in progress" its him attempting to fix it. "In progress" implies the fix is known and just needs to be implemented.

I've tried quite a few and recently just came back to sense so i could tether 4G while I'm at school. WiFi in the classroom I'm in is terrible. It's just so depressing knowing I'm stuck with this if I want a fully functional phone
I'm hoping cm9 pulls through and gets stuff right. If I'm correct though it would take a super dev to get 4G working on the shooter right?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
Maybe this is a dumb noob question, but what is it about 4G and camera that make them so much more difficult to get working? I was not able to dig up an answer to this with a forum search.

It's basically a driver issue. The drivers for these are closed-source, so a ROM built from AOSP doesn't include them. IIRC, they are trying to reverse-engineer the code ATM.

again this is for the previous base, not the new kernel included in the latest OTA, but I am sure once some devs break it down, they will make it work.
leave it to HTC to release source the day after they updated it to a new base/source.
I don't care if it isn't for the new one if it helps someone like Kush get CM9 working better.
