Electrify SBF - Motorola Photon 4G

I know there basically the same phone. But can the SBF for the Photon be used on the Electrify?

No, the SBF's contain carrier specific code, settings, etc.

Has anyone posted/leaked an SBF for this phone?

Which should I flash, the Dev section is a swamp of wtf to me right now, and should I flash it with RSD Lite?

I did this last night myself.
HOW TO FLASH A SBF:
The Motorola Atrix 4G SBF Thread. This is your fall back, you flash this if you screwed yourself, wanna go back to stock, or you just wanna try it out. Make sure you pick the right sbf file too, don’t go flashing a Latin America sbf on a US AT&T Atrix. Currently there are 3 U.S. Motorola sbf files you should be concerned about: 1.2.6, 1.5.7 and 1.8.3 (w/ 2.3.3 coming soon!)
Motorola Atrix Firmware Super Thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1125944
Here are instructions for flashing a sbf file to your device. These particular instructions were for 1.2.6 sbf, but also apply to all other .sbf files. Ready carefully & make sure you have all the prerequisite files, programs, drivers, etc:

Were you on gingerblur? And which one did you flash? I want unlocked Gingerbread
Since there was a lack of help, I put on my big boy pants and tried it, and it worked perfectly.
Was on Gingerblur 4.5, i unlocked with kennethpenn's method
http://briefmobile.com/how-to-unlock-the-atrix-4g-bootloader
and then flashed this sbf using rsd lite:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182526
I was in a similar situation.... I flashed straight from locked bootloader stock 1.83 to gingerbread + pudding sbf. I have not unlocked bootloader from there because I have no reason too.
So for anyone with a similar question, you DO NOT need to unlock your bootloader before flashing the gingerbread + pudding SBF! Just flash that and you get gingerbread, plus the ability to unlock in the future.

[Q]Get back to stock GB from ICS

I have my (international) atrix running on CM9.
now i want to get back to stock GB but i'm not quite sure how.
sadly my first nandroid i made got lost somewhere in the process of flashing so i can't go that route.
i read that some downgrade can cause bricks?
the other problem is that a lot of files that were hosted are now offline.
so if someone could please take the time and tell me a safe downgrade path from ICS/JB to stock GB i would be very happy!
thanks a lot!
Search for fruitcakes thread or my backups. Flashing it should be safe.
Yeah fruitcakes are the way to go. You can even downgrade to Froyo with the Froyo fruitcake.
And always remember doing an SBF is a very risky thing, you may end up with an expensive brick. If you want to SBF back to Gingerbread, make sure you flash the version that you had before you flashed any custom roms.

As far as i know the only two ways of bricking your phone by "SBF-ing" are disconnecting the phone/electricity or flashing the wrong SBF.
If you are ATT then flash 2.3.6 ATT SBF, if bell then flash bell SBF.
first of all make a full wipe and revert to CM7 for safety !
im neither at&t or bell.
my atrix is from europe and carrier free...
thanks for the answers so far!

Photon ROMs on Electrify?

Unlocking a stock USCC Electrify tonight using Pudding.
Plan on installing CWM or TWRP (after doing more research or heeding advice).
Not many ROMs say Electrify compatibility is included. Is anyone having any luck flashing these to their Electrify? Is there a universal conversion zip a la the ones used in the D2/DX days?

it's the same phone minus 4g. everything is compatible with one another. no mods needed. just flash away.
be sure to flash this for eri/roaming fix. it's recommended.

you can also check out my site below for some electrify info.
good luck on unlocking. not many people have an electrify that they can unlock.

Thanks for the tips, this is exactly what I figured!
I'm not to nervous about the unlocking process, and I know the device I'll be working with this evening is a completely bone stock 2.3.5 USCC device which appears (from my limited reading) to have the best of chances. Any further tips I should know before this? I'm no novice, so feel free to talk as high level as you want.
And your site looks extremely helpful. I'll read through it in it's entirety by the time I attempt the procedure tonight. Thanks for the heads up!

well 2.3.4 is fully unlockable. 2.3.5 is only unlockable if you have a device that was shipped with 2.3.5. if it was updated or flashed to it you will not be able to unlock it. it's basically permanently locked. no way around it.
good luck!

Wait, 2.3.5 is unlockable if the phone came with it? Has this always been the case? Did I miss a memo?

this has always been the case for the electrify. not the photon.
i don't know what took so long for the photon users to get 2.3.5 but the electrify has had it since nov/dec.

If the electrify is shipped with 2.3.5. Its sv1 so you can unlock it. But if it was updated via ota to 2.3.5. Then its sv2 and unlockable.

Is there a quick way to check the SV level? I assume it might tell me in the bootloader itself?
And thanks for the tips and help again to everyone, very helpful.

IIRC, it will error out, harming nothing, if it can't be unlocked. That's what it says in the instructions I received, though.
My Electrify was shipped with 2.3.5, and I'm running Jelly Bean now. I've flashed more ROMs than I can count in the last week alone.
As for the boot loaders (recoveries), CWM-Recovery that comes with the Electrify.zip unlock pack is the same as Joker's v3, and is your standard text-based, no-touch recovery. You navigate with volume and Power is your Enter. TWRP is all-touch, nice as hell. Both should work for you. TWRP is just nicer looking.

I can install Photon Roms in electrify?

I have some issues with radio which requires me to flash back to stock. However, no matter what I try I can't get 2.3.4 installed, and always end on "Failed to boot 1". What is there I can try? I won't flash 2.3.5 by any means.

Err... where are they located? I only tried the 2.3.4 USCC SBF. Also, I'm pretty sure the Sprint one will fail. But wth.
Will try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1798210, the unlocked rom with TWRP.
WAIT A MINUTE... there are radio SBFs too... will try them.
All radios fail at 6% in RSD...

I think you may have copied the URL incorrectly.
If it is 2.3.5 shipped you should flash 2.3.5 sbf. 2.3.4 will not work. The only available 2.3.5 sbf is for US Cellular. If you are using sprint then you need to follow peter_ 's guide and only available custom rom is hybrid rom from peter_

You said that it is 2.3.5. So it is locked and there is little chance to unlock bootloader.

So let's be clear on this.
Do you have a Photon (Sprint) or is it an Electrify (us cellular)?
What version of firmware was your device running before everything went crazy?
We can figure out a lot when we know that info.

Sprint 2.3.4 has made progress. Got to the NOW screen and am bootlooping. Will attempt to flash stock USCC 2.3.4. Got USCC 2.3.4 to boot, radio is still "Searching for Service"
