Looking for some help.
I flash my rom quite often and have never had any problems. I recently flashed to a 6.5 rom, and all of a sudden the touch screen stopped working. it is unresponsive to any touches.
i flashed the 6.1 official rom, and that flashed ok, but the touch screen still doesn't work
it hasn't been dropped, nothing physically is wrong with the thing, but i'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why this could have happened?
i have a NIKI200, T-Mobile Touch Plus, unlocked, hard spl'd etc etc
anyone help?!

the flex cables are terrible on these devices, make sure that its not because of the following problem

i have phone insurance, so will probably go through that, i'm not one for opening the phone up!
my question remains, how come all of a sudden this happened after flashing a rom?
can someone please do me a favour and get the registry settings for the Niki
1. Open your Registry Editor
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/
3. Click on CalibrationData
4. Give me the values in this field

I'm new here, and the happy (at least, i hope) owner of a samsung galaxy s III since two days xD
I bought that phone in China because it was much cheaper than here, in Belgium (europe). But the problem is that it's full of Chinese crap, such as dumb sound message while booting/shutting down the phone, useless apps, etc.
So I wished to flash my phone with samsung official rom (europe, country france, because there's nothing for Belgium I suppose) like this : I9300XXBLFB_I9300XEFBLF1_I9300XXLFB_HOME.tar.md5 (one file).
I've read all the different tutorial from this forum and followed all the instructions :
Installed driver on my computer (windows 7) with Kies => Kies recognises the Phone without any problem.
Downloaded Odin v 3.04.
Switched to download mode (volume down + home + power).
Shutted down Kies.
Plug the phone => odin recognized the phone.
Put the file in the PDA part.
Check "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset time" only.
Start button.
After the "start" button, no problem, there is a download progression bar, but at the final step, it fails !
Since then, now every time I'm trying to boot my phone, there is the following message : "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. PLease select recovery mode in Kies & Try again"
Now, I can't even switch to recovery mode (volume UP + home + power), Kies doesn't recognize my phone anymore, I can only switch to download mode (which is positive, right?)...
I've already tried to flash other rom (still official!) such as : I9300XXALEF_I9300XEFALE1_I9300XXLEF_HOME.tar (also one file) => same thing...
Is that because the phone's bought in China? When I'm in download mode, after "PRODUCT NAME" there is "GT-i9300_CHN_CHN", is that the cause of the problem? There's not much thread about it...
I've ready that we're supposed to enable usb deboging, thing I didn't... But I've read that it wasn't suppose to be a problem...
I noticed that I was far from being the only one who encountered that problem, but nothing about a "chinese" phone...
What can I do? Can somebody help?

However, I still have one questin though : does that mean that I'll be unable to flash with an official samsung rom (sorry if that's a newbie question :/), and that I'll have to use that phone with all the chinese crap? Hope not...

Why you keep saying official Samsung rom? You think the Chinese firmware is not from Samsung or something?

I'm sorry about that Odia, I know I might sound newby here... It's kinda new for me, I've never heard about any of this stuff (rom, flash, root etc.) since yesterday...
About your question, I think that my phone had some of an operator "overlay" (on my phone, it's "china unicom"). For exemple, when I boot my phone, there's some sound message in chinese etc, and when I shut it down, there is also a sound message + animation with "china unicom". Those are only exemples, but there're also a lot of useless app on it... And my wish is to delete them all, and try to have an "unspoiled" version of the Phone... I don't know if I'm being clear enought about it...
And also, I don't know if there's any way to have for exemple french language on the phone, instead of just chinese, english, and korean (only three choice currently on my phone !). That's what I meant when I was saying that I wish to have an "european" version of the phone, if it's possible of course !
Finally, about the link you gave me, it seems it could solve the problem, but I think that only works for the galaxy s 2 at the moment, right?

All right, it's working, haven't realised that the file you gave me in the link was the official samsung rom for china ! My bad.
Hower, now that I have those files, I can try to convert the phone into EU... Hope I will somehow find a way to do that.

I can use it with no problem here (belgium), french text, azerty keyboard, s voice in french....

However, there is a whole topic about "chinese user and buyer" of the phone in this forum, in which you can find the answer (message #51 by dhang if I recall correctly).
I did almost everything he said and the phone works perfectly (at least, untill now, haven't tested everything yet, just the basic stuff like texting, message, internet, app store, etc.) : just as if I bought that in France.

I was surprised how great it looks. Congratz....
Anyway, I am having a little problem because the screen lock does not work.
I go to settings>security>screen lock>pattern. I draw my pattern and confirm it then it ask for a password I do it twice . After the screen turns off i wait and when i go use the phone the screen is not locked. Noone of the locks work.
Please help.

I'm not Blur75, but this is usually due to a missing /efs/imei/keystr file. I'm guessing that BluRom is a pre-rooted ROM? If so, then you can fix this.
Check to see if you have that file. (/efs/imei/keystr) If not, create it, and have it contain the word ON. There are several different methods of doing this.

Problem: My Galaxy S3 i9300 is now almost 2 years old and I have rooted it 1 year ago. I installed lots of roms, I had lots of failures like boot loops but well, my handy survived.
But now it's just going crazy. It's slow, it's lagging. Once a day it has a moment where it just shuts down any programs and just lagging like hell, I can't even open my keyboard then. It's like the keyboard opens and then disappears again. I have to restart then until everything is okay.
This handy is nothing but a problem for me.
Now to my question. Is there a way to fix this. Right now I've installed a custom rom called Android Revolution HD. Is there any suggestions you make me? Any programs or something else I don't know. What are you running maybe I should do the same.

You need to do a mega wipe format system,internal sd card.data,cache etc (This is not a normal factory reset wipe) if you do not know how to do this safely please read up on it.

Hi - I can "see" my phone on google, yet it does not offer an option to set a new password.
I am using Android 8 - could it have been removed since you posted this solution, or could I do something wrong?
