is there any way we can get google wallet on our amaze? from what ive read around simply installing the apk does not work :\
I'm no dev, but I would guess it needs libs. FWIW
Now that we have root I wonder if any of the devs well cook it in their roms. Google wallet was only suppose to go to sprints nexus s but they managed to make it work for the tmo version.
Well if someone would stop messing around with Sense and build an ASOP we'd have it but the "devs" are working on Sense Roms for some reason...

...since you like using quotes in an obnoxious way, why can't that "someone" be "you" who "devs" us an "AOSP" rom? there's no "reason" you can't "do" it.
Except I have a job I do for a living nor the skills to do it. Thats why. I don't pretend to do something I can't do.

Not quite sure what half what you said is but yes. I'm on his now and actually like it because he kept the Sense camera and all. Except should bring the library over for Google Wallet to work since it wouldn't need the framework unless thats how it communicates with the NFC...

Bump. Wondering if anyone has had any success or heard any updates about google wallet.
Aye, any luck on this? A working Google Wallet would be AMAZING on these phones.
When it comes down to it...what are we missing/what do we need to get this working on the Amaze? Is there anything us n00bs can help out with?
Hey is there any chance the apk from here http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...nfcrel-2.apk&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13242366848021 can be used to help make GW work on our phone? The apk installs and the app runs but crashes when NFC is turned on.

If we do get s-off today and with this new kernel source we can have some pretty smooth AOSP Roms here soon given that HTC Sense is a OS in itself any AOSP Rom should run like a Geo metro with an LS6 in it
Sorry for the noob question and I welcome any flaming for me not knowing this, but, what exactly does the kernel source give us?

Hey guys,
Thought I should share something with you all.
Here's my attempt of porting Sense 3.5 from Pico. I used Pico Hero rom from HeroGSM as a reference for porting... This is a basic port, as I really don't have time due to numerous exams and a uncooperative slide (the trackpad now refuses to work at all :|).
Without further ado, here's a list of what (doesn't) work:
What WORKS:
data
SMS
MMS?
What DOESN'T WORK (plenty):
wifi
tether
call
bluetooth
USB storage
camera
very laggy.
If there's anything else, tell me.
Honestly, I didn't want to release this half-working rom, but many of you want to see a booting version of Sense 3.5 and stuff... some of you even PM'd me and/or called me selfish for hogging a bootable version. Really? Selfish? I just didn't want to release a non-daily driver... that was slightly... disappointing.
Anyways. Tell me how this goes, and if anyone has suggestions on how to improve this rom, PM/post on this thread. This rom needs ALOT of work.

That being said, I'm going back to being a hermit. I actually have a bunch of midterm coming up this week, so I shouldn't even be on here. so BYE!
Reserved for any possible need
Thanks for the release, hopefully someone will manage to get it to be more operational!
I'd really love to see a Sense 3.5 on the Slide

It's the exact same as stock but deodexed and rooted. Nothing else. No tweaks. No optimizations.
It also allows users who want to modify it the way they want since it is completely stock. Devs can build off of it.

Can this be flashed using 4EXT or must it be renamed and flashed like any other stock ROM? (relocking bootloader, renaming file, etc)
Curious because I wanted to update to the "R2" version released by football..but might as well use this if it's already rooted and such, save a little time.
By the way, anyone know what the difference is between the latest ICS OTA and the "R2" version posted by football? (it wasn't posted in the Amaze forums, but it was posted on his filefactory account)
Kind if irritated that I even updated to ICS at all right now (used the OTA) because it seems to have totally borked WiFi calling (there's some kind of crazy delay that appears ~10 minutes into a phone call... other users getting the same thing). Really didn't want to S-OFF and revert to GB, though, so hoping this "R2" release fixed that

Pretty much the Golden Rule behind ROM development is to never ever ask for a release date. Those kind of questions annoy the crap outta devs, and it serves no purpose. The devs themselves probably don't know when to expect a release. It all depends on how many issues they have.
Not to be stern, but just telling you that you're not going to get an answer on that question.

Not sure what build you are running, but ICS has been fully working for some time. People REALLY need to stop saying it isn't fully working because a useless camera doesn't turn on (As it is, there is a difference between the *OS* not working, and a piece of hardware not having drivers.. this is the latter). *double facepalm*
It will be released when you finish working on it.
C'mon OP, we are all waiting.
Now. Before everyone jumps all over me for asking this, yes I know it's been asked before. And yes I know it takes lots of work and time. So my question is to the devs or anyone who is knowledgeable about this is, what/where do I start? I know how to decompile apks and find smali. If people would like to help please do. It will not work. You need the sense framework which is not able to be put into AOSP. If it were, it would have already been done. Same reason there are no sense widgets for AOSP. If we were able to port those things to AOSP, then no one would stick with Sense.
