Google Earth update states my phone is now not compatible. - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just saw the update for g-earth is on the market but when I open it to update I am greeted with a msg at the top that states this is not compatible with my phone. Anyone else seeing this? Using bamf 1.0.7.
Sent from my Bolt.

I logged into the web market and was able to push the update to my phone. After update my market link now shows installed but still states at the top that it is not compatible ... Weird.
Edit: Check out the market comments for GEarth. Looks like a few different devices are seeing the same thing I did.

Probably an issue with your ROM. It updated fine for me using Cyanogen mod.

Updated and works fine on Liquid Thunderbread 3.0 too.

Have you messed with your screen density at all? I believe stock is 240. You can check your build prop to make sure. (use root explorer or the likes and navigate to system/build.prop and long press. Choose "view as text" and look for your density.)
Just a thought.

Checked buildprop and it is set to 240. Oh well as long as I can update it from the web market

Firefox not showing up in market

Tried to get Firefox but it was not found in mafket. Anyone else have this?
It is called fennec I believe.
scratch that. Fennec is not on android ATM. go to Firefox.com/m/beta and download it.
Not sure why. It shows up on mine. Try searching for mozilla.
I tried searching Mozilla. FYI am using new market. For those that find it can you tell me what fingerprint you are using in you build. Prop file?
Sent from my Nook Color
it's still beta mode, so that could be why it's not showing up. from what I've heard its not too great on android devices though.

I'm using whatever market was on Auto-Nooter 2.12.25, and I didn't change my build prop. :\
The last firefox/fennec I used wasn't that great like huCarlisle1 said. Dolphin Browser HD is much better IMO.
It is filtered by your device I Guess. I cannot see it with 2.1 Milestone
It doesn't show up in the marketplace, but you can download it directly from mozilla - https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android#Download_Firefox_4_beta
Make sure you download the arm7 version ~
Happy Hacking
Showed up on my DInc (froyo) fine but some market link didnt work on NC. I will try the direct apk dl.
As others have noted IMO the Firefox app is not ready for prime-time yet .. DolphinHD much better.

[Q] Words with Friends broken since TW Update

Ever since I updated WWF after the TW update, I get an error connecting to the servers and can't play any games. I have tried a forced close and clearing cache. anyone else having problems with this? If so, does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks
-Triple
I had to update in the market place to fix mine. Works perfect now.

I played last night and everything worked great, even got push notifications for the first time. WWF definitely needs a paid version for android to get rid of those annoying adds.
That and I can receive chat messages but I can't send them.

after doing the update from the market, i was able to send messages. I couldn't do anything without it FC or giving me network error message from the version that was loaded with Touchwiz.
How did you guys get the version from the market to update the TW version? When i go out to the Market "Open" is the only option I get.
when you go into settings>applications what version do you have installed? I am running 3.61
Mine shows up as 3.59. Funny thing is that the Market version says 3.61 but "open" is the only option I get.

Try clearing the cache for your market and see if it will come up
Mine is version 3.59 as well.
Same issue when I go to the market.
I just emailed the dev.
When are these adds going to be dealt with?

That did not work for me.
I removed my stock version and installed it again from the market. I pulled and zip the apk. Extract and install from from your sdcard.
I can't try it right now, but I will check it out later. Thanks for taking the time!

Naked, work was blocking the download. After getting impatient I tried logging into the Android market on my PC and forcing an install on my tablet. It worked like a charm! I am now running 3.61. I am testing it now, but I have yet to get an error.

Sweet, glad you got it working. Good idea on doing the web page market and forcing the upgrade. I'll keep that in mind in the future.
I have seen often programs not able to update properly when they are located /system/app. Since the it was part of the upgrade to TW, they have it located there.
The install from Market worked great for me as well.
Never knew you could do that.

TripleTapper, can you please explain more? Now do you "force install" from the market? It just tells me that my Nook Color is incompatible with the app, and the buttons are greyed out.
Thanks.
I just opened the Market using the browser on my PC. When I do that and search for Words for Friends I click on install. It then gives me an option to install onto my various Android devices by selecting it from a pull down. My Galaxy Tab comes up as Samsung GT-P7510.
Words has been working flawlessly now! : )

No problem here. Something is messed up on your device.
Worked for me

If you cant get them to work, a factory reset should do it or if u are rooted, wipe all and reinstall rom
If you're running a custom ROM, it's possible that there's info in 'build.prop' that the Market reads and could flag apps as incompatible. What are you running ?
FWIW, I didn't check Adobe Flash 11. When did that get released, a day ago ? Two days ago ? Haven't heard there's been an update.... I'll go out on a limb and say that one won't across too many sites that are "Flash 11 only" yet either !! I think you can hold off for a short bit to get that one sorted out !
As for the others, the Market says they're "compatible with all of your devices". I have TBolts and Eris linked to my account, so yes, they'll even run on my old Eris.

Not sure but on mine the Market auto updated Adobe Flash to 11 last night.
Sent from my brain.
Adobe Flash only shows up in the Market if I look for it. It doesn't appear under My Apps. When I do find it, it has the "update" tag on it though. I don't know if it will eventually auto-update or not since it's a baked-in app. Maps does though...

Once you update it, it will be linked to the market then since you will no longer be using the /system/app version (you'll be using the /data/app version market installed). So from then on it will be listed in your market when an update is available. As far as making that "automatic", you'd have to check that box in the market for that app.
As someone said, it could be something in your build.prop such as your model name, lcd density, or fingerprint.

My apologies. I believe I did use the market to install Flash 10.3 and choosing to auto update. I am using Market version 3.1.6 btw
And I assume that Google pushes updates to their apps which is why Gmail and Maps constantly update without user interaction.
Sent from my brain.
I think with Google's apps, they took it upon themselves to default the "update" flag to 'yes'

I was just talking to a guy about this. Did you by chance change your screen density? The stock density on the Tbolt is 240. Or if you are using a custom rom maybe the density has been changed?
You can use Root Explorer and go to system/build.prop. long press and chose to view it as a text file and check the density is 240.

I got my to download just fine. Of course, I've changed my build prop.
Follow this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cssyIE4maZY
i bought it a little bit ago for my tp and it went fine. i've not had any problems with the .10c apps downloading, tbh.
I have the default alpha3 build.prop and it installs fine.
All you have to do is purchase it from another android device and then go to the TP's market app and go to "my apps", then go download at the end of the list and find "Not Installed" purchased apps. HD Widgets should be there.

HD Widgets show up fine on my 16 using cm7 a3. Doesn't show on my 32 running xron. I'm assuming build.prop difference.

I dont remember seeing tablet widgets in their android market screenshots but if they exist and are tablet-only widgets you will have to wait for ICS. Currently our Touchpad run a phone version of android and so cant run anything that uses tablet APIs (Honeycomb and ICS can run these).

I didn't think this was piracy, they are running a promotion. If it is, I can take it down.
its not promotion..Its the new way to make money off paid by giving it for free......developed by Getjar....its not piracy at all,I dont know how it works....I downloaded BW from there long time ago and still running rock solid...
Guys, this is not piracy, it's a new "Gold App Sale" by Getjar. There's some great apps in there too!
the only thing i cant get to download on the TP is Tapatalk
edit: anyone know a quick download code?
Seems like some cool apps here not sure how to get them on the touchpad though as it doesn't seem to be a supported device.. Any ideas? Where do I get the getjar app I don't see it on their page anywhere...
use the default android browser and make sure you have it set to mobile. when you browse to http://m.getjar.com it will auto download the apk and you can install that way

Same here, get the message "no compatible downloads for unknown android 2.3"
Sent from my Touchpad using xda premium
I was able to get Tapatalk, although it gave me an error the first time I tried.
I was also having issues downloading at first using Dolphin browser, but using the stock browser it worked just fine. The first time I tried to DL an app, it said I needed GetJar and linked me to the file.
do you think you can use your PC browser and the quick download code and post it here? what device do you have it set to? I'm currently set on "Free Download".

Love the folks that cry piracy w/o FIRST checking the link. Stop policing unless you're a mod.
so.... how they make money on such promotions "paid for free"?
those apps are modified or all-the-same like orginal android market versions?

they're different in the fact that they are currently updated very slowly... getjar just made it available to have developers push their updates... before, you had to know there was an update and redownload the app... i got my first push yesterday, so i see it's working
getjar makes money by sponsors... you'll see them throughout the site
Same problem as other, when i search/enter the code for the app (in my case it's Tweetcaster Pro, Tapatalk and Splashtop Remote Desktop) i get the "no compatible version for my device" text which is ridiculous because i have a Captivate and the Android Market shows those apps just fine. Any ideas? Can someone post the .apk i mean if they are free its not illegal right? And also if i get the .apk, will it update automatically when with the new push system from GetJar?

Thanks, it only worked for Splashtop, TweetCaster Pro and Tapatalk keep saying the device is not compatible i mean wtf!?!? I tried with GS II and Galaxy Nexus and both say not compatible. Anyone that has already downloaded Tapatalk from the GetJar app can tell me the device they are using and the name code so i can modify the Build.prop and download the app.
ro.product.model=GT-i9100
ro.product.brand=samsung
it has worked with everything in getjar... i have a crash here and there but they all have downloaded...
if you've changed this... reboot... it took awhile for google's android market to see the change... i probably restarted 3 times... even went into webos once and back to cm7...
the only thing i've had a problem with working at all (it did download) is Advanced Task Manager
i get:
Sorry! The application Advance Task Manager (process con.arron.taskManager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
edit:
just tried another app... Aces Jewel Hunt downloaded and installed but closes right after the splash screen opens
Yhea i tried with that. i wasn't able to download the Splashtop before changing the build.prop and after changing that and rebooting i could. But i couldn't download the other two apps, i mean i even tried going on the browser to getjar.com and changed my device to the i9100 and even there i can't seem to get the code for the download because i get the same message that my device isn't compatible and im talking about the PC browser. Im gonna change again to the i9100 on the phone and wait a day or so and try again from the app, i don't understand why i have to do all this the app should be compatible.
Thanks again for the suggestions though
