Hi All,
i am using a non rooted SGS2 in india. its running on the latest android firmware 2.3.6 (waiting for ICS.. )
the problem i am facing is that from past few days i see my battery drains very very quickly.. even if there is nothing running in background. i am using juice defender ultimate.. i guess its not helping either..
also it takes like forever to charge up.. i mean i plug my phone for charging at 17% after 2 hours it just reached to 21%..
at times while charging it through the USB.. it seems to be discharging.. it was at 37% after some time its reduced to 29%..
Also my phone heats up a lot for unnecessary reasons..
has any one faced this issue? please help...

first of all what programs run in background of your device?
second, what battery you use ? (1650 mAh 2000 mAh)
have you looked at your battery if the battery is working 100% or if the battery is damaged?
what rom is running on your device, which kernel do you use?
Could happen from rom. Here in germany the official 2.3.6 update was cancelled because of problems containing battery drain und reboots. Perhaps same stock rom problems in development.

i think your battery is gone. Maybe try charging it with the phone off or something. and if it it goes to 100% u can try download the battery calibration app on market to calibrate it properly. I would try everything i can before sending it back to samsung.
sounds like hardware problem mate, the phone should warm up when plugged but it shouldn't be above 35°C or so, and the slow charge problem could be related
if you can get another battery to test it out, or just buy a new one
good luck
You could try to reset your battery stats before going out buying a new battery.
thanks guys for your suggestions..
i uninstalled some of the crappy apps that i never used.. & voila my phone is back to normal .. less heat up.. battery lasts for 1 day.. hope it stays that way..
waiting for ICS..
@jeroensk - how can reset my battery stats..?
Clear battery stats boot to cwm recovery >> advanced wipe battery stats
But you will need a cwm and rooted phone ..
As battery stats do not need wiping dont worry about it battery automatically calibrates itself .
Some muppets think wiping battery stats actual does something . |It does not play any part in charging the battery or battery life on SGS2 .

I'm having very strange problem. I installed CheckROM v6 + speedmod k2-21 kernel on my phone and now my battery went crazy. Having some kind of drain when i restart the phone... Today I restarted my phone on 42% battery and when it booted up battery was on 21% and then started to rise to 22,23,24..
Anyone knows what may cause this problem? I also used BatteryCalibration app to calibrate the battery after rom flash.
Pls help!

Charge the phone 100% use the phone three days to give it time to recalibrate .
Flash a different kernel or rom .
That fails go to Better Battery Stats app and thread .

give your phone sometimes. anyway, having able to last for 20 hours is more than perfect. try ask iphone users.
i did ask few of my frens (iphone 4 users), he can't even last for half day, and need to have car charger, usb cable or pc just to prepare to charge the rubbish. lol
edit: forget to mention, they can't play game continuously on their rubbish. their battery will die in around 2 hours (i can have 5 hours continuous online game playing with s2)
btw, your so-called "bug" might be the system is trying to recalibrate itself to the nearest value with the battery level. should be a good news, better than the phone "lying" about your battery.
Good fellow, again around here bothering me. I tell the 19 May last buy a Galaxy S2, came factory sealed, in fact I remove the seal, the question is that since last Sunday something very strange happens to me: charge the battery at 100% and start using the phone normally when it reaches between 30% and 40%, begins to fade as the lighting of the tactile buttons and screen, that when I have activated mobile data and the need as more cel battery consumption between the headed or cel energy loss and lose the signal goes out, if I disable mobile data if it holds until the battery to discharge, but connect with the phone off and make me inmediantamente load of 30% when it is assumed that the cel was shut down because was downloaded.
To tell a friend tell me that you step on something like a SE x10 and it was the battery with a voltage problem. Then you believe it is, that the battery is damaged and not the power to mobile or mobile to be problem?
I wonder I did, I did the following:
Calibrate the battery with CWM (I deleted the batery Stats)
I did 3 complete cycles of battery
With a multimeter measures the voltage of the battery and gave me when it comes to 3.80% by giving the prooblema and 4.10 with the battery fully charged.
To rule out problems with the loader, load it with the PC, the battery lasted a little more me, but I spend as already mentioned.
I flashed 5 times and install the ROM Andyx
If I connect to the socket and use it although it is very hard not pass this probleme when I use it only with the battery, when it comes to the percentage of battery I have before mentioned active data and give it a very intensive use (internet, games, benchmarking, etc.).
Since I bought I notice that my view is loaded very fast and just as quick to download, but until Sunday presents ehstos symptoms.
They think it's worth it to buy another battery or mobile internal problem?
Probe version of ICS LPJ European modem with LPS, the LPW and now I have the ROM ROM Andyx Extremev0 Apollo kernel and all feel the same, with percentage and holds more than others, but all happens to me .
Please help and many thanks in advance.
Hi All,
I have searched briefly but I cannot find this exact problem...
I have the S3 and I have had it since the begining of December 2012...I rooted and installed JB the first day I got it SO I cannot tell if it was me or if the phone was faulty.....but I have reverted back to Stock and the problem is still there.
Basically the phone does the following and it's starting to get to me.
*The phone charges to 100% but then it stays there untill I reboot and only then can i see the real battery percentage, it annoys me as I never really know what my battery is sitting at without rebooting.
*As the battery charge drops the phone will make a noise as if its connected to a charger and it will say its charging on the screen but the percentage still drops and this also won't go away until I reboot the phone.
I have tried the following and no success.
*went back to factory rom via KIES.
*fully charged the phone and then ran battery calibrator and removed the battery.bin file.
*inside clockworkmod I have resetted the battery stats.
*discharged batter completely....made sure that phone cannot even display the battery icon when attempting to switch it on.
*tried several roms
*tried several kernels *currently on YANK's 3.1 Aroma kernel.* (which is awesome by the way)
*left the battery outside the phone for half a day to see if that helps.
How come a simple reboot fixes the problem....which is why I'm logically thinking it's software related.... but I could be wrong.
Does the battery itself have a sensor inside that's reporting the incorrect information to the phone? aka charging when it's not?
Are there any other methods you guys can perhaps reccomend as I'm starting to pull my hear out
Does the battery itself have a sensor inside
Yes.
Try the usual answer and recalibrate your battery/ wipe battery stats . =Does not help .
Other option try different battery .

Hii everyone
I've got some really weird Battery Issues on different Lollipop Roms (CM12, ResurrectionRemix 5.3.5-5.3.7, Beanstalk and SlimLP).
The problem is, as soon as i restart the phone the battery percentage drops from 50% to 13% for no reason.
If i charge the phone later suddendly the loose percentage are back, but the phone consumption more "battery" so it's sooner at 0% as normal.
Does anybody else faceing this problem? Or whats the solution?
(Tried several times to calibrate the battery, and it's a new one ca. 6 months old)
Regards Kun1

I've had these problems when I first bought my phone used off eBay. Phone battery was very erratic. After a reboot battery would be less than half or nearly 0 even with 80%+ battery. Or would shut down with 5% left. Or drain battery a lot quicker than normal.
Soon as I bought a new battery my problems vanished. My battery would stay solid no matter how many times I flashed a new ROM or rebooted. BUT after 3 months these drops have started to happen again with reboots. Not always like before, but they're happening.
I think it's down to battery conditioning. The way you charge and discharge your battery. There are set ways to charge a phone to maintain battery health.
How does your battery react without rebooting from a full change to shut down? You shouldn't need to reboot a phone with a good stable ROM once you've set it up the way you like it. Also calibrating you battery or wiping your fuel gauge meter to often isn't good practice as android and your phone will do calibrating itself after some time and needs the information that these starts provide.
Battery jumps seem to happen with a lot of S2 users. Maybe a flaw in the design of phone. But good battery practices are important, things like not leaving your phone charging overnight. Batteries don't like being left on charge when they are full. There's more info out there on XDA that I can't remember myself as I am guilty of bad battery practices as I use my phone all the time and don't have time to full charge cycle.
Yes same problem
Battery drains really fast when restarting
Any fix for this?
I am hiving battery problems too. Battery is dropping % like it leaking or sth. Last time my phone rebooted due to full ram and it dropped from 50% to 12%. I left it like that. After some time battery re-charged itself from 12 to 23 % ! Phone was lying on the sofa without connected charger ! Should i clen fuel guage chip or my battery is EOL ?

you have to reboot for example if you install xposed and new modules i've calibrated the battery just 3 times i think this isnt too much?
and i understand the problem with charging overnight but there's no other solution for me :/
I have the same problem of battery drain with SlimLP beta 5, here my screenshot: shoplc.altervista.org/gallery/

...of course, now my battery lasts 15-18 hours
When it developed a ROM that overcomes these problems of battery life, I'll be happy to try it.

ps: I may have missed something
Forgot to say, if you want to avoid battery drops when rebooting make sure you plug your phone into charge before rebooting. Thus should stop battery dropping afterwards.

The battery often drops when the phone hangs at work and reboot from itself so i have no chance to plug it in.
I have same problem, battery drain too fast & after reboot same time battery level is "falling" at one moment twice. At first, I think it's a battery problem, but battery work fine at CM12 mod, and have problem at SLIMLP 5.1.1 mod. When battery "falling" it's not heating, which means no real discharge.
