Hello All, this is my first post so sorry if I am posting it to a wrong section.
I purchased S2 from Australia and is using it in USA. Last week I updated the firmware to Tmobile UK as it didn't had that many junk software as the Australian firmware had.
I am currently using my phone on Tmobile and the reception is pretty bad @ my home. I want to use the Wifi Calling App from Tmobile. Can somebody help me how to get it on my Samsung s2. Do I have to get the Tmobile US firmware to get that app.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
ZAQ

Dear forum users,
First of all I would like to thak you all for the help and support, this site has been my source of information for a long time.
Unfortunatelly I do not have enough experience and knowledge to contribute to this forum.
Anyways... I bought a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2, the phone is amazing it came unlocked by the carrier but it has a branded firmware, and I am looking for an unbraded version.
Where can I find the unbraded firmware? How can I tell if it is compatible with vivo/Brasil phone?
Please help and thank you all for your support.

Hi guys, I've been browsing through this forum for awhile now, very helpful threads, you guys do an amazing job!
This is my first post and I would like some help.
I'm from Canada and I ordered my S2 from Newegg.ca, so my phone came factory unlocked and right now I'm running it on the Telus Network.
Samsung started releasing their firmware updates for the different regions, but I'm really confused on witch firmware to get.
I believe my phone is running on the UK firmware but I would like to use a North American firmware, here's the detail:
PDA: I9100XWKF3
Phone: I9100XXKE7
CSC: I9100XEUKD1
Would I be able to run any firmware from any region I want without damaging my phone?
And witch firmware is for the Canadian region?
Thanks in advance.
Anybody?
I'm a noob at this, never owned an android phone before.
So please guys, you'll make me really really happy
Any rom from Dev section 1 and section 2 will work , you got standard global unlocked SGS2.

Hi Ghost, thx for your reply.
I want to to know about actual firmware and not roms.
Can you please direct me to an actual firmware I can use for my SGS2?
and will I be able to use any firmware that's not the generic Europe+UK?
Hi All,
First thanks for hosting this forum and contributing. I am an android noob and have recently got a samsung galaxy sii on a contract with t-mobile uk.
after reading through forums i have managed to root the device using odin and insecure kernel and then unlocked it using the galaxy s unlock from market.
The device came with stock 2.3.3 and I want to update but stay on stock roms as they offer best battery life. I have seen the latest firmware available is XWKI8.
All i need to understand is can i upgrade to XWKI8 using the firmware from official firmware xda forums and will i loose my unlock when i do so ?
If yes will the aforementioned galaxy s unlock app be able to unlock it again ?
Many Thanks for your help. I have read so many forum posts now but as a beginner cant get my head around it.
Regards

Thanks for your reply, I am now officially confused ...
Read the following at android devices .com "The best part of this firmware is that anyone with their Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 handset can proceed to apply the update of this XWKI8 irrespective of the current firmware, the only condition being is that this phone should not be a network locked device. "
I know my device is now network unlocked but it wasn't originally will that matter ? Sorry if i sound like a stupid chap, just worried don't wanna screw my phone.
Your mobile will remain unlocked no matter which firmware you flash.

Off topic: Stock ROM/Kernel doesn't really have the greatest battery life. Jeffreys SpeedFrey 4.0 kernel is said to be released today, and has AWESOME battery life!

Is this thread about a badge-engineered T-mobile?
Sorry to display my ignorance, but it's not clear to me if this is a standard Galaxy S2 that has been locked to T-Mobile, or if it is a T-Mobile branded Galaxy, i.e a T-Mobile banner at startup and lots of useless and annoying apps installed.
I suppose the question is, how different is it to root and reflash a rebranded locked T-Mobile Galaxy S2?
Thanks,
B.
Hi,
I have a new I9108 that I got as I use the China Mobile network for my work contract, I am having great difficulty finding a ROM for this model.
Everyone with Chinese SG S2 seems to have the i9100 version.
Basically, I just want to know if I am stuck with the standard ROM.. if this is the case I will sell the phone as it is so restricted, its frustrating.
Baseband is :I9108ZMKI5
Kernel : 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #2
Any help will be appreciated, as there is very little reference to this model aywhere

Hi
I am planning to buy the Samsung Galaxy S3 and had a couple of questions:
1) What is the current android version that has been pushed to Indian Users by Samsung.
2) If I take a EU phone (black colour), would I still get updates by Samsung India? Will I get updates from the original country?
3) Does the phone have international warranty?
The main reason for asking these questions is that I am debating between Google Nexus 4, S3 from India and S3 from abroad. I don't want to take the S3 from an EU retailer only to find that I neither get warranty nor software updates.
Questions go in the Q&A section, not general
