My scrolling speed and overall performance of phone is slow and laggy. I just installed condemned cm7.1 but it also did it on GSB 3.8. Please help before I chuck this phone. It is very frustrating! Thanks
Man, I was looking for the answer for that question. I have the exact same problem where I have to wait for my phone for like a min before it shows me the loading message for any app that I wanna open. I know its pretty sad but i can't find the answer of how to fix that. If anyone out there can help out itll be deeply appreciated

I wanted to try Cyanogenmod on my AT&T SGSII, but I am wondering if it is worth it. Right now I am using Cognition X2. Has anyone else made the transition? Could you share your thoughts on why I should try it too?
i just tried it i would say no but its up to u to me it is in alpha/port stage
Cm7 is awesome but needs a few things worked out. But I cannot wait stable version.
Agree, I'm on cognition which I'm very happy w and tried it, saw no real benefits so I switched back. I guess the only thing would be that on cm7 it doesn't have the tiny home screen lag. I want to love cm7 for this phone cause I did on my inspire but as of now ill wait until the kinks are worked out and then give it another shot
Thanks for the input guys. I also hear that the voice issue is bad. I'll wait for it to stabilize.

It was fixed today by Atinm with a update. PLUS as of tomorrow or whenever they put out the next update we will be officially on rom manager. I kept my SGS2 stock for two days and the TW is really nice this time around but I had/have cm7 on my captivates and HAD TO have it on my SGS2 also. It kicks ass and can run stable at 1.6Ghz. It is pretty much ready, looks like the ONLY issue still is stuff with the Bluetooth a2dp or something. But it does make it very very smooth and all the settings in it are awesomely built right in. The built in Theme Chooser is totally cool and there are MANY THEMES in the market. You can have quite a few themes from the market downloaded and then pretty much on the fly switch between the themes then just a plain old reboot after for all parts to take effect. You can ALWAYS go right back to where you are at on the stock rom as long as you make a nandroid backup.

Hey there, welcome to the forums.
Well, first of all.. tell me a little bit.
What are you looking for?
Speed? Good Battery Life? Froyo, Gingerbread? Do you care? GPS? etc.
personally bionix 1.3.1 was my favorite for froyo, but if you want Ginger cm7 nighty is the way to go. miui is popular, but for the most part, it turns the vibrant into something completely. . . different.
flash away man. see what works for you. the vibrant is virtually unbrickable.

I'm looking for a fast rom. REALLY FAST. And not many glitches or non at all.

I use Toxic8 with Bali X 1.2kernel (gingerbread theme) and it is snappy, stable and battery lasts really well. Quadrant (although I despise it) gives about 2000 average.
I even used the GPS to get me to somewhere that MapQuest failed big time. Place was so far out that the roads didn't have names anymore, just numbers. But GPS took me right to the front door.
I'll try it out. Can you send me the links?

And whats the difference with bali kernels and regular kernels?

I would but that would be too easy. They are in the Dev section. Also there is the "bible" in there too. Worth taking a look at.
Lol. Ok thanks man. Really appreciate it.

I've gone from Cyanogenmod7 to Trigger to Toxic Crazy 8. Cyanogen was horrible, as I was still a noob and it was terribly buggy then.
I suggest toxic Crazy 8. Flashed it a couple weeks ago, and it's beautiful. I decided to stay with Froyo because it's been around longer (more time to perfect it) and it's much more battery efficient. I get 44 hours of light use out of my phone, on one charge (Screenshots soon, I'm busy now...) It's also super smooth, just follow their install instructions. I've never had it lag and I can't stress how amazingly smooth it is.... xD Have fun flashing! Just keep some backups handy...
Edit: I failed to mention I'm running on Bali, OC'd to 1.2 Ghz (It came with Toxic, and I have no reason to change)
Here's Toxic Crazy8
Why is Virus ROM so smooth and fast?
I mean I have tryed many Roman and they don't compare to his?
Dumb question but I wonder why...?
Because Virus uses Jews. Not Romans.
Romans are too rough.
Jewish folk don't put up any fight..
Which is why everything works so easily.
Make sense?
Cause it shouldn't...
Lol, I wondered this same thing. I've been flashing ROMs since the Hero and I've never run a ROM that stood out so well from a smoothness standpoint.

I, too, have really liked Eternity. Smooth and usually never any problems. Setup in my sig.
I like eternity and its my dailey driver. I would like to have 1.4.2 but have terrible battery drains to fast on stock kernal. Any ideas? I use 1.3 now.

really? im running 1.4.2 daily with stock kernel and im getting minimum of 10 hrs
Yeah ive tried it at least 10x

Ive tried every kernal. Stock is the most stable on any rom.

I have to agree. Infected 1.3.1 I think is the smoothest compared to the later versions IMO though. I've also tried Olympus Trinity (non beats version) and also as smooth and screen capture works. But to me it isn't as fast (YMMV)
Synergy is fast too and smooth , but if u try another rom you can noticed the difference.
I'm on Synergy now and love it. Very fast, stable and smooth. If I wanna try another one like Infected how do I do it? Back up, full wipe then flash?

I was having problems with every rom I flashed on here until I came across Infected Rom Eternity. Before I was getting Quadrant scores of 1000 or so. Now I am getting 2400-2900 with no OC on the Kernel. It's so smooth and stable it's scary. No, I actually haven't been able to sleep much the past few nights because I am up wondering how Virus made this thing so freaking amazing.
Yup virus is awesome

Lasts me a day, I'm happy about that. There have been complaints with other HTC devices running CM7. Some say the battery is better, some argue differently. I guess that's what you're gonna have to live with.
...unless you've never tried battery recalibration?

Oh okay thx anyway, anyway im back to my sense now cos kindda missed it, btw whats battery callibration? Havent heard of that b4...
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Search on the Market for a calibration app. Basically, every the you flash a rom, kernel, or change the battery, the phone thinks nothing has happened and will keep preset values of what's max capacity and what's min. Calibrating a battery properly will help redefine these values to more accurately reflect power consumption. In the end, you gain a few hours anyway.

Hey, I recently installed this rom and notice a significant decrease in speed. I thought it was just because my daily driver is an HTC One that it felt slow. However, my girlfriend noticed that it was laggy and sluggish (it's her phone). Could anyone offer any possible solutions/insight to this problem? Thanks.

Hey SoloBadguy. Try flashing this on your girlfriend's phone... http://db.tt/60xH94yV. The flashable .zip adds some experimental performance tweaks to the build.prop. I've been using them for quite some time and haven't had any problems. If anything, they've certainly seem to help. Anyhow, hope that helps.
