Hi,
I just bought an Atrix, I was checking the roms, and I like the Alien and also the Gingerbread stock rom.
I had a ZTE Blade before, brand new, and following the tutorials and could install everything.
The question is that this Atrix is not brand new, i think is rooted ( cause i have the app "Superuser" but no idea about bootloader... Here is what i can see in settings:
System Version: 4.2.11.MB860.Retail.en.FR
Android Version: 2.2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
I don't wanna brick it, and I couldn't find a post to update the device from a rooted 2.2.2. I just need to know what should i do at first, after I get to clockworkmod recovery i am able to.
Thank you very much

Hi,
First of all I would like to apologise because I didn't know where to post this because there is no forum for this phone, i recently moved to korea and got this phone, there is little information about it on the net. in english anyway..
I managed to root the phone using the superoneclick method.. Ive played around with the framework to edit the theme but now i want to get a bit more adventurous.. but i want to do a nandroid backup first just in case.
ive got rom manager and when i try to install clckwork i get the signature error
clockwork failed to verify whole-file signature
heres some details:
its the stock rom just rooted it.
model: SHW-M130L
FIRMWARE: 2.3.4.
KERNEL: 2.6.35.7
BASEBAND: M130L.VD29.0502.LT
BUILD#: GINGERBREAD.VG05
any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
Tho I'm not familiar with your particular variant of SGS2, Rom Manager has a way of not playing nice with CWRecovery on I9100/T's. Plenty of posts on here where Rom Manager has broken CW, put phones into bootloop, etc.
So I'd say with your phone it's the same as the I9100/T, I.E either use Rom Manager or CW Recovery, not both.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? If it i do mess up with the framework would a restore to fsctory settimgs fix it?

Nope, a fresh flash would (if you don't have a backup).

You may also have more luck in the Galaxy S section since your phone seems to be a Galaxy S with a DMB tuner and an AMOLED Plus screen instead of a Super AMOLED (difference being no pentile). It is also CDMA (made for LG U+ or something).

Hi guys, I'll be receiving a brand new European version of the Atrix next week. As far as I have understood, there are no fruitcakes of it, so obviously I'd be willing to add something usable for everyone before I start using all the great stuff that other people have made
Do I understand correctly that after rooting & unlocking my bootloader I just get ROM Factory from the Market (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382576) and get the Fruitcake of my system with "one click"? And then send it to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 so he can add it to the fruitcake topic?
Also (sorry I'm new here ) could somebody tell me what the difference actually is between a fruitcake and a nandroid backup? Both seem to make a complete image of the phone?
Hi all.
I just finished picking up my sgs2lte. Really excited about it. Would like start by rooting it and install another rom.
My specs are:
SGH- I727R
Android 2.3.5
Baseband I727RUXKJ7
Kernel 2.6.35.11
Build GB.RUXKJ7
I am hoping someone can assist me with this.
Will I be able to install rom's through cwm once rooted?
What is the best baseband for rogers?
What is the biggest sdcard that I can buy for it?
I do know that there are several how to's on how to do this rooting, but I just want to make sure I do the right way and use the right files. Just double checking never used Odin before either, will be my first time
Thanks all,
Heeter

You're currently in the i9100 forums. You should go to the i727 forums. They are different phones.
Thanks a million, ctomgee
Will repost there, always good to ask first!!!!

Hello!
I have a slight issue
I gave the phone to the repair (I removed the system), I got back Atrix with Android 2.3.4 without root and recovery
The problem is that I do not know:
1) How to get Root (it seems to me that it is necessary not only to 2.3.4, but even to a specific build to the system [or not?])
2) How to get Root with working links? I tried to get a pair, but the links do not work
Or how to simply install the Root (and TWRP)
System Version: 45.0.26.MB860.MERetail.en.06
Android 2.3.4
Build number: 4.5.2-74_OLE-26
Thank you for any information

So in other words you don't know how to search the A4G threads or use the search bar or head to the general section and look for threads that talk about rooting, unlocking bootloader, flashing recovery, or even installing a custom ROM. Btw the links do work.

partially yes
I found various instructions on how to root Android 2.3.4 (for Motorola Atrix), but met with the fact that apparently not every Android 2.3.4 (for Motorola Atrix) works.
I wonder if there is any hint that the version of the root take it or it does not matter and I will take anything it will go
