Hi guys, I'll be receiving a brand new European version of the Atrix next week. As far as I have understood, there are no fruitcakes of it, so obviously I'd be willing to add something usable for everyone before I start using all the great stuff that other people have made
Do I understand correctly that after rooting & unlocking my bootloader I just get ROM Factory from the Market (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382576) and get the Fruitcake of my system with "one click"? And then send it to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 so he can add it to the fruitcake topic?
Also (sorry I'm new here ) could somebody tell me what the difference actually is between a fruitcake and a nandroid backup? Both seem to make a complete image of the phone?

So I just went out and got myself a Telstra GS2 - and its working Almost perfectly!!
After having an optus GS2, having to send it back, and all the hassle I had to go through, I would like to somehow create a complete backup, including all settings and kernel n that.
Any ideas how? This device is still unrooted, wanted to get an image before I tried to root....
Regards
Jamie
I think you have to root to be able to make backups of the entire rom..

I am in the same boat - I want to make sure I have a copy of my current stock ROM before I root it and change it. Can't seem to find an answer anywhere though.

I think you would have to do it through ADB.

Hmmm but if I root it to back it up, its not really a backup of the whole rom. Anyone know of how to pull a rom off with ADB or something?
Perhaps look in the Xoom thread. I remember people doing this for the Xoom.
Posted this in the cf-root thread a few days ago and got no response. Anyone here know the answer?
Just upgraded my Nexus 1 running Cyanogen 7 to the I9100T running on the Telstra Next G 850MHz
I want to root but im a little confused. I mainly want this to install Samba Filesharing /market.android.com/details?id=com.funkyfresh.samba&feature=search_res ult"
Im still happy with stock firmware at moment and will experiment with this when i get bored of the stock.
Is it safe for me to flash CF-Root-SGS2_ZS_OZS_KF4-v4.0-CWM4.zip to gain root
To get rid of the triangle can i use the Vodafone Australia

Either wait for intra to upload the official carrier firmware when it hits the update server in this thread. Or go for the root / unroot method as described here
Hi,
I just bought an Atrix, I was checking the roms, and I like the Alien and also the Gingerbread stock rom.
I had a ZTE Blade before, brand new, and following the tutorials and could install everything.
The question is that this Atrix is not brand new, i think is rooted ( cause i have the app "Superuser" but no idea about bootloader... Here is what i can see in settings:
System Version: 4.2.11.MB860.Retail.en.FR
Android Version: 2.2.2
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
I don't wanna brick it, and I couldn't find a post to update the device from a rooted 2.2.2. I just need to know what should i do at first, after I get to clockworkmod recovery i am able to.
Thank you very much

My opinion: fruitcake is a sterile operating system image. Nandroid is a rom backup that includes all your personal settings, data, etc.

I came from the Galaxy S forums where all these ROMs and updates were given to you on a silver platter instructions and all
I'm using a GSM Canadian Droid RAZR purchased from Fido, running on the Virgin Mobile network. (Yeah, its complicated.)
System Version:
651.167.3331.XT910.Fido.en.CA
Android Version
2.3.6
I've been waiting all this time for the Verizon update, but only realized a week ago that Verizon is CDMA, and theres no chance I'll get it on my Fido branded RAZR.
What do I need to do? I downloaded the LATAM 2.3.6 GB as well as the 4.04 ICS. I have RSD Lite but no idea how to use it. My device is complete vanilla. Do I have to root/install CWM in order to install 2.3.6?
And should I do data/cache wipe. If so, how?
Thanks in advance. I really don't know whats going on.
Oops. I thought this would automatically be moved to Q&A after I checked that box. Could a mod move it there please?
Thanks

Hey, I'm actually in the same boat as this guy. I have a Rogers GSM Razr and I'm wondering if I want to install an ICS kernel based ROM, I have to use RSD lite to flash up to an ICS stock rom, and then flash the rom I want, right?
Thanks for the link Pedro.
Does my phone need any modifications (root/CWM) in order for me to flash with RSD?

Not really. Take your phone as a latam device. Any rom for a latam razr will work fine.
Just follow the procedure for ics on latam razr.
You have 4 Langs on ir. Eng. Pt. En. Fr.
And I posted a working 1 click root method today.
Btw, tell the guys about it
Cheers

Hi all.
I just finished picking up my sgs2lte. Really excited about it. Would like start by rooting it and install another rom.
My specs are:
SGH- I727R
Android 2.3.5
Baseband I727RUXKJ7
Kernel 2.6.35.11
Build GB.RUXKJ7
I am hoping someone can assist me with this.
Will I be able to install rom's through cwm once rooted?
What is the best baseband for rogers?
What is the biggest sdcard that I can buy for it?
I do know that there are several how to's on how to do this rooting, but I just want to make sure I do the right way and use the right files. Just double checking never used Odin before either, will be my first time
Thanks all,
Heeter

You're currently in the i9100 forums. You should go to the i727 forums. They are different phones.
Thanks a million, ctomgee
Will repost there, always good to ask first!!!!
Thanks again,
