This is a cool app, lets you manage see how much free space you have in Internal Storage, SD Card, Drop Box, Picasa, Google Docs, Sugar Sync, and Box accounts. Also has a nifty file browser setup to browse by types(music, pics, video) on each type of storage.
Also lets you backup your music, pics, vids, and apps to dropbox or sd card(probably sugar and box too - but I don't have those accounts)
I highly recommend it:

I really wanted to browse my pics stored on Picasa and I'm pretty fond of the Google Gallery app (I know there are others out there).
So I installed this from Astro and lo and behold it worked on the Nook Color! Enjoy!

After installation, go to your GMAIL application and select Settings > Accounts. Add a new google account, then select your current gmail account (re-add it) or select from the google account associated with Picasa.
Great Tip dascud!

Worked for me too - thanks for the tip!
Worked for me too. However, I could not get my picasa albums to sync initially.
I had to go to my GMAIL app and add my (same) account again which gave me the option to sync my picasa albums and everything works fine now.
I'm lost on the Nook Color and photo viewing, not to mention videos.
I have tried just about every app I can think, researched until I'm blue in the face, but no matter what I do, if I drop 80 photos taken by your typical-everyday camera into a directory, and copy this directory to the mounted micro-SD card, this device nearly has a stroke just creating thumbnails.
At this point, the Gallery app mentioned in this thread shows the grid of photos, and about 10 of 80 actually have a thumbnail that was created, the other 70 thumbnails on the grid turned from gray to black while the application struggled to create the thumbnails.
With 32 GB of storage space, there's no way I could manage hundreds (or thousands) of photos. I must be doing something wrong here, so much storage space, no way to use it.
Cool.. with it could also see my uPnP server
works great on my NC, thanks a lot!

I've been having problems with unresized images. The resized ones display fine. I'll do a batch resize to see if that works for my photos.
Any help or new information would be much appreciated. There are a couple of apps out there that can take care of the video, but I just can't locate anything else that can deal with photos.
This is frustrating, as I purchased this device specifically over other devices that don't allow for removable storage, but what good is 32 GB of data if you can't sort it and find stuff properly?
See this thread for a really fantastic photo app.

Time to get more pics on my NC.
Check out Picasa Tool Pro. It's really nice and free

What did you change to allow this? I rooted with Auto Nooter and everytime I try to install an app from Astro I get the following message: "Install Blocked"
I also tried with Root Explorer and still nothing. I am sure I am missing something very easy. Thanks in advance

I wish I could download ALL of my Picasa images to my Nook.. But I have yet to find anything that'll do it. A few apps will let me download individual pictures, but I can't suck down the whole thing.
Picasa Tool Pro, as mentioned, is a nice tool, but as far as I can tell it has a batch uploader but not downloader. Although I'm going to check it out for the upload facility, pictures I take on my Nexus One I'd like to make to Picasa.
Honestly I still haven't figured out a halfway sane method of keeping my N1 and NC in sync.
Hey all.
Looking for an app to backup a folder on my SD card online, and sync changes.
Tried Google docs (can now backup folders on your computer, but not with the android app), Drop Box (can only backup its own files/folders), Amazon Cloud Drive (via MP3 app), Ubuntu One (only its own files/folders).
I would like an app on my phone that I can choose an existing folder and keep synchronized. I don't mind paying a little for the app, or storage, but there is a lot of free space offered by the apps above, they just don't seem to want you to use it that freely.
EDIT: Never mind. Found SugarSync, seems to do just what I wanted...

I use SugarSync but its a pan in ass.... random file copies and duplications and renames.... you have to stay on top of what the Android app is doing... but its the only one that will do what it does on the desktop app
I would like to save my pictures on my sd card to an online source automatically. Is there any kind of appear or something that allows me to do that. My pics got wiped from my sd and I would like to prevent that from happening again without having to load them on my external hardrive every night.

I know that google has a couple of services for this, Google + is one of them and Picasa Photo Uploader is another. Google + will automatically upload your photos to your profile, if you set it. Picasa Photo Uploader is an app you can download.
I've used this before:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.photobucket.android&hl=en
You gotta have a photobucket account, but it can be set to automatically upload images as they appear on the card. Be careful of data and battery life, though.
I use SweetHome to upload my photos to my PC when it's connected to my home Wifi.

Thanks everyone. I just started using Google+ so far I really like it.

How and what do you guys use to backup your pictures you take with your phone? I was sync'ing them up to dropbox using the titanium media sync, just not sure that is the "best" way to go about it.
Currently running ICS Alpha 2 leak...
I am on an unlimited data plan so I use Dropbox's automated Camera Upload feature to upload pictures I take on my phone. Can be slow sometimes, but it gets the job done. It's nice to have the pictures ready and waiting for me on my computer when I get home.
I'm using Dropbox as well.
I just move any camera pics I want to save to DCIM folder on external sd.

I installed dropbox for a lot of space free offer they had and it started sharing my pictures with my tablet. Nice pleasant surprise.
I am coming from an OG EVE and I am uploading some apps with data that I would like to bring over to google drive.
Besides that what are you doing?
Are you just going to take your sd card out of the current phone and stick it in the new one? Good idea or bad?
I was thinking of just copying over my music/pictures and starting the sd card from scratch so I don't bring over all that garbage I have accumulated.
Thoughts on best practice here?
Good post. I too am a little new to transfer from old android phone to new android phone.
How exactly are people transferring phone numbers on the phone (not gmail) to the LTEvo? Are you just uploading everything to google and transferring?
As far as apps, I am putting faith in appbrain to just redownload all the apps?
This might be a noob question, but I will ask anyway. Once i set up my gmail account on the new phone? Will old evo not work w/ the same email? I read somewhere that you can only use one email with one phone.
I don't use google for contacts, so i exported everything to a VCF file on the sd card.
Most apps let you back up their settings, so I used that function. Not overly concerned about email. Once app is installed (k9 mail), and settings are imported, it's just a matter of refreshing to resync with the imap servers.
I do look forward to having root so I can run titaniumbackup to restore other apps/settings.
Id make sure all ur contacts r connected to Google or backed up somewhere so u don't end up re entering them all. As for my SD card. I'm backing it up then reformating it in the LTE. Gonna wait until I'm done setting it all up then restore some app data and pics/music. That's why I love Android a new phone and all u really need to do is log into Google and u have all ur stuff again

Prep? Funny. It's a phone, not a house. Buy phone, swap sdcard, turn power on. Sync.

I just got myself a new 64 GB microsd card for the new toy. Starting on a clean slate.
Must haves:
64 gb micro sd
Hd media link
Otterbox def
Car dock
I have all but the otter and the car dock but soon will have
I use Google Drive for all my docs, Dropbox for all my pictures and videos, and Play Music for all my music....I literally have nothing important stored on my OG Evo right now......the only thing that's gonna suck is I have to start from scratch on all my games. Though I have Titanium Backup that backs up my my entire phone data to my Box account so whenever I get a chance to root, I'll get all my game data back.... I really do not want to start all over on angry birds lol
