Thanks goes to #TeamWin for Temp Root
This is For Windows only, if you wish to make it work for linux or mac help your self...
Remember, This is still a Temp Root & any Changes made will be Rest back to stock on a Reboot
It's stable & works 100%
I Personally have not lost Root with this new Method
Q. I thought RW was Fixed?
A. Caused by Deleting an apk / file that was already deleted. Journaling shows it still there!
Keep Track of what you delete, as trying to delete something off system that you alread di hangs the /system into RO state.
Before Using!!HTC Sync Must be Turned OFF
Put the Phone into Charge Mode only ( Not Disk Drive )
USB Debugging Must be Turned on
What's Fixed:
Revamped due to new Method:
~ Superuser Apps now Function
~ If you Lose Root, all you have to do is Open terminal & type SU then type fixit! > No More Rebooting & running the exploit again for R/W on system to get Root back in place
~ Fixed R/O Bug!!
~ R/W is now Forced
~ /system is fully editable now! until reboot that is.
~ Busybox is installed to /vendor/bin
~ hex Edited libext4
~ hex edited libfuse.so
~~ This is the Last Update due to it working & Stable ~~

Q. Is this permanent?
A. no, it's a temp root method..
Q. Will I lose SU Access at some point while running the OS?
A. You might, but open terminal & type fixit to get root back!.
Q. What about apps that need a reboot to use superuser?
A. Use Fast Reboot form the market for app that need a reboot..
Q. Can I push & remove items to system & will it work?
A. Yes, but all changes are reset on a reboot.

OLD NEWS:
Everyone knows that currently with any temp root, you still lose links to the SU Binary & Busybox links, it's just a matter of time before it happens!!
So after digging around somewhat I found an over sight that HTC might use later for system updates via /vendor/bin, who knows at this point though... Anyways, after amount of time the SU Binary along with busybox links if be in system/bin or /system/xbin gets deleted / removed..
Now, what I did was enable the $Path to /vendor/bin which is in the Sensation export PATH..
Any Calls made from this point either be SU or Busybox don't get deleted nor touched from any App requesting the SU Binary!! I've tested this with alot of apps & the Root sticks in place..
Other than Reboot, it might as well be a Perma-Temp-Root!!
Downloading now!!! Can't wait to test it!
***EDIT***
Rooted perfectly, opened and closed Titanium Backup several times with no force closes or loss of su, Barnacle is perfect, Wireless tether is granted su but the kernel doesn't support it, screenshot gained su also but the screenshots were smeared colors. Drocap2 takes perfect screenies though. Gonna try a few more root apps before bed and play some more when I wake up to verify it lasts.
going to try this now!
Ran the script and no root
script stays on
daemon started successfully :/

Is there any chance u can edit the script or tell me how to edit it so it doesn't remove anything. Thanks.
perfect works great!!! Managed to restore TB! Will try out wifi tethering right now and other su required apps! Thank you! <3
I guess I don't understand.
How is removing anything from /system/app gonna stick?
This worked perfect for me. No problems with it. Wifi tether won't work for me, but barnacle tether works perfectly. Drocap2 is taking perfect screen shots for me as well, where as before the images would be all distorted and what not.
Made some changes to the .bat since I don't necessarily want to disable all of that yet, but it works, this is the longest superuser has worked for me so far on the EVO 3D.

How'd you get Barnacle to work?
EDIT:
Sorry my tablet doesn't read Ad-Hoc >_>
Is anybody able to root the E3D with this method? I tried twice and it failed both times. I will do again by restart my pc and E3D.

It won't stick, but after you reboot you run the batch program again and the apps are removed again until your next reboot.

a .bat file is just a text document that is executed in command prompt. If you are familiar with cmd just open the file in notepad, delete any commands you don't want executed, save.

Not through a full reboot....no you will have to run the batch file again (even says so in the OP). However, the other root methods would crash periodically even without a reboot or would last but not give you access to the majority of your root apps. This is the closest yet to a feasible root solution.
mine doesnt get past daemon started successfully i have usb debugging on
so if i downloaded and installed some apps that require root,
and i reboot, what happens to them ?
they will work after running the bat file again ?
or they will have to be installed again to work properly ?
thanks !
EDIT: i haven't done my due diligence (searching and reading)
but it's 5 am so i'll ask ...
what works for screen capture and for wireless tethering ?

They will work after running the .bat file again. You shouldn't need to uninstall and reinstall them. Super User may need to be uninstalled before running the .bat file again, if it gives you any force closes.

does anybody know if there's a way to block an app fr detecting that your phone is rooted, i was trying to redeem my code for my digital copy to download fast five on my phone using pocket BLU, once it gets ready to download it let's me knw that it detected that my phone was rooted n doesn't let me download, i also had the same problem with blockbuster before I was rooted I purchased some movies but after I was rooted tried to go back to my movies n. same thing, detected my device was rooted... do you have the Superuser app auto allow root requests or do you have to manually allow each time?

everytime u get an app that request root user permission I have to allow, it doesn't allow automatically but once I have aloud an app I don't have to do it again
You have to delete the root detection in some smali files to remove it.

a temporary fix:
1) rename /system/bin/su to anything else, example: /system/bin/jk. i prefer to use adb shell for the renaming.
2) run the application which looks for root
3) when done running the application which has root detection, rename /system/bin/jk back to /system/bin/su.
this should work because the root detection method most applications use is to only check if a file named /system/bin/su is present. if that file is present, they consider the phone rooted. they usually don't even attempt to open the /system/bin/su which would trigger the superuser apk, they usually only look to see if the /system/bin/su file *exists*.
hope that helps!

After you rename the file you lose root. How do you regain root privilege to rename the file? Do you chmod? How do you mount rw?

as you found out, the temporary fix won't "mess" with anything as long as you restore the su binary back to its default name.

you don't lose root by renaming the su binary. by renaming the su binary, you're ONLY changing the name of the su binary. the su binary does not require itself to be named "su" to execute properly. of course, make sure not to run chmod and remove the setuid bit on the file.
command: mv /system/bin/su /system/bin/jk
now, instead of having to type "su" for root, you'll type "jk" or whatever the new name of the su binary is.
also, you can configure adb shell to always drop to root access by toggling the ro.secure value, either 0 or 1, in the default.prop file which is stored inside the ramdisk of the boot.img kernel file. many custom kernels toggle this setting so adb shell always drops to root, even if no "su" binary exists on the system.
worse case, if for some reason you make a mistake, you can always boot into the custom recovery which provides root access via adb shell (ro.secure is toggle as such in the ramdisk of the recovery custom kernel) and setup root access again from there.
hope the additional information and technical details help!

Really??? I've been using the app fr the market temp unroot remover n it works
I've rooted my HTC Amaze. The rootedness persists across reboot. Here's how I did it.
1. Copy the zergRush temp root to the phone. I put it in /data/local
2. Run zergRush on the phone via adb shell.
One you have temp root do this (from the PC)
1. adb remount
2. adb push su /system/bin/
3. adb shell chmod 04755 /system/bin/su
Then you can install superuser.apk and reboot. After rebooting you should be able to adb shell and type su. This should prompt you (on the phone) to allow su. Once you allow it then any apps that need root should begin working.
You can find the zip file that contains the su binary here
NOTE: the adb daemon will not be running as root so, when you adb shell to the device you will not have root. You just run su and then you have root.
Questions? Just ask. I'll do my best to help. But, remember, you do this all at your own risk.
-xdadevelopers-user
I had some weirdness when allowing a second root app in superuser. It would consistently FC. The first root app was fine and continued to work but I couldn't get another root app to be authorized.
It turns out it's related to the permissions on the superuser databases. To fix my problem I went to home>menu>settings>applications>manage applications>superuser>clear data. Then run superuser and dismiss the startup dialog. Now adb shell and run su. It will prompt on the device and you should allow it. You should now have the root prompt in your adb shell session. From there type
Code:
chmod 666 /data/data/com.noshufou.android.su/databases/*
Now you can run more root apps without superuser FCing.
-xdadevelopers-user
Very nice work, I will probably wait until we have recovery to actually do it. This is a great start though, hopefully this works with no problems as I saw that some were "bricking" their devices using the Zerg method for temp root.

Yes, it will. In fact, that's basically all it does. Of course if you want to change /system/ you'll need to su to root first, then remount it RW. From there you can make any changes you want. The changes you make will persist across a reboot. To test this I deleted teeter.apk and teeter.odex from /system/app and rebooted. Teeter is now gone from my phone.
So, unless I'm misunderstanding what you mean, this is permanent root.

Yes, you can make changes (add/edit/delete) to the files in /system.
I added:
/system/bin/su
/system/app/TitaniumBackup.apk
and deleted:
/system/app/teeter.apk
/system/app/teeter.odex
I did not edit anything in /system but I could if I had a reason to.

for what it's worth...
I used the UOT kitchen to modify the battery to include percent. Since we don't have recovery yet I manually pushed the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk and then manually deleted the dalvik-cache. Now my status bar has the modified battery. Woohoo!
I was going to build a recovery today but android.git.kernel.org is STILL DOWN. Since the instructions I have require it I guess I'll wait for someone who already has the sources or until android.git.kernel.org comes back (I'm starting to wonder if it ever will).

thanks, that was excruciatingly simple. i grabbed an app and apparently perm root didnt take. going to need to try again after work.
im new to all this stuff with phones, i should have learned with my incredible 1 but it was satisfactory out of the box. seems like everything HTC with the newest version is full of bloat and runs like garbage. the last OTA to incredible nearly bricked the phone, i had to manually reprogram it to get back on the network; verizon tech support didnt do jack.
ill keep reading over these forums and learning as much as i can. any suggestions for this phone are greatly appreciated. currently im using the stock sense UI and stock kernel. i like the UI as it is, dont plan on modding it, just need to get rid of bloat.

i cant be sure im rooted, but i am unlocked. i watched the bootloader unlock myself, and it says 'unlocked' at the top of the hboot screen.
i have no idea how to see if i have root, though, and i know i dont right now.
as for that thread, yes, i have all that on my PC at home and tried it earlier today. unfortunately, i had previously used a different method, so i skipped straight up to the part after the unlock. the other method i used had me get into amon ra and use the su installer, which is why i mentioned that.
any other suggestions? im all ears heh.

actually... i think that is the first method i used LOL. either way, im going to factory reset my phone and go with hasoon2000's tool.
let me preface this by again stating i have the bootloader unlocked and can prove it with a picture if i have to.
ok, i factory reset my phone and used amon ra to install superuser. this did not work.
superuser says 'no apps in list.' ES file explorer tells me i cant delete Blockbuster.apk. terminal emulator says it is read only. after rebooting my phone, terminal emulator's keyboard is stuck in all caps mode (weird) and i cant even cd.
this is what i get when i use hasoon's method (cant post about this there cuz i dont have 10 posts ):

let me preface this by again stating i have the bootloader unlocked and can prove it with a picture if i have to.
ok, i factory reset my phone and used amon ra to install superuser. this did not work.
superuser says 'no apps in list.' ES file explorer tells me i cant delete Blockbuster.apk. terminal emulator says it is read only. after rebooting my phone, terminal emulator's keyboard is stuck in all caps mode (weird) and i cant even cd.
this is what i get when i use hasoon's method (cant post about this there cuz i dont have 10 posts ):

You don't have root. Install this by flashing it in Amon Ra, that should give you root. Then rerun the tool.

flashed the zip from amon ra and restarted so hasoon's permroot could run. still says read only file system.
im beginning to think no one has actually rooted the rezound, and this is an elaborate, worldwide prank on me lol.
if your in root explorer you need to press on the read only to change it to read write. Probably the same with any file manager. Default is read only.

you, sir, are the winner of the day. you have earned yourself a lifetime supply of HUGS! lol, thanks much.
ok, its not over yet. i removed a bunch of the .apk files for crapps i dont use, but the shortcuts still exist in the app menu and the processes still run. i verified that the .apk files are still gone.
also, the HTC people widgets are mysteriously gone .
what next?

Have you rebooted after your changes?
I would have used titanium backup first to freeze the apps that I am thinking about removing. And then moving them to a safe place rather than deleting them so that if I have to, I can put them back if there is a bad result.

yeah, i rebooted. i dont understand... why would i have to freeze apps and move them? i own the stupid phone, cant i just delete this crap and forget about it?
i swear to god, this is more frustrating than buying a laptop from best buy...

Simple. If you remove the wrong thing, you may have problems trying to put it back. Without having to reload the ROM again and start over.
Remove the wrong things... and you have a non-working phone.
By freezing them, you can see the affects before you perm remove them. If you move them instead of deleting them, you can put them back. If you delete them, sometimes even TB can't restore them.
It comes down to how much time you want to put into this...

Seems that the AIO Tool's permaroot had problems and this did the trick. Thanks to you and the OP!
I am running stock DNA, rooted, and with CWM touch recovery. For myself, being root is not merely a luxury, it is a need. Most importantly, I cannot stand having a crippled unix terminal without busybox, which of course, requires root.
I know not what the imminent OTA will bring, but root is too precious to risk losing. I would therefore like to engage in a DNA-specifc discussion about disabling the OTA update.
From what I can tell so far, the two methods include:
1) renaming the otacerts.zip file in /etc/security to a .bak file. This will not work in the present case, since /etc is mounted at /system/etc, and /system can only temporarily be mounted rw due to us being stuck with "S-ON" for now.
2) installing "FOTAkill.apk", or, flashing its corresponding zip (attached below) in custom recovery. Again, in the present case, this file was written for the EVO, and will most certainly not work. The updater-script in the zip can be modified to reflect the correct mount points, but there is a corresponding binary which I have no clue contains what, and would certainly need some expert opinion about.
Any ideas ye fine fellers?
You could always do load ota root keeper from the market back your root up temp un root via app update ota and then re root using the app, I have done this on other devices and I never lost root. Worked well. Might be worth a shot.

There are system writable kernels out there, and you can always rename your files in recovery. S-Off is not an issue in this scenario.
delete checkinprovider.apk, cotaclient.apk, and updater.apk from /system/app

I have indeed heard this alternative thrown around but I am not willing to chance it; I have seen an equal amount of horror stories about people having their systems fried with this method (the Droid X for instance, which I had and where the last update broke root).

I will look at what's out there and if it is stable enough to be flashed. How does one rename files in recovery though? I rebooted into CWM (touch) and I see no such option - unless you can remount a partition and rename files in it somehow.

This avenue seems promising. Has anyone tried this before? Also, how does one delete these in the S-ON situation? (I'm assuming recovery is the answer). I feel if I remounted rw, deleted and then rebooted, they will be right back where they are.

If you install a kernel with /system writing enabled you can just delete them normally.

Great... thanks! I am looking into custom kernels. By the way, if custom kernels that do allow write to /system can be concocted, why is S-ON an issue at all? I was under the impression that this has to do with NAND memory being inaccessible, which seems to be a lower level issue than the kernel.

With s on we can not.
Flash radios
Flash kernels in recovery.
Change the splash screen
Go back to a locked bootloader
And a few other things I'm probably forgetting.
