Vibrate Icon Stuck In Notification Bar - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed 2.3.5 when it was leaked and remember reading about this before but can't seem to find the solution to it. I tried the search function but no luck. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd much appreciate it.

thats a feature. not a bug
change your notification settings to not vibrate and it vanishes.
it showes you, that your phone will vibrate. which is true

i remember reading about the vibrate icon being stuck in the bar whether it was on vibrate or not back then, but nonetheless you're right(possibly due to the fact i flashed a new kernel/rom recently). thanks!

[Q] Notification

Hello XDA,
I'm fairly new so please excuse me if this has already been addressed or answered. I've searched but haven't found an answer so if there's a post on this, please reply with a link and I'll do the rest.
Okay, when I get a text message, the message alert goes off. But say I'm not with my phone, or in a loud environment, is there a way to get the phone to vibrate and play the alert when I get an sms? Also, is there a way to get the phone to periodically alert me when there is an unread text ? My last phone (GSM HTC Hero) had an LED that would flash. But this phone, the Samsung Vibrant, doesn't have an LED, and apparently no way of letting me know I missed a text message.
If not, is there an app that might provide that functionality?
Thanks in advanced for any reply.

Thank you.
This is exactly what I was looking for. If only it would occasionally vibrate, it would be perfect.
Thanks again.
Look in the Market for SMS Popup. It has a lot of notification options (custom vibrate patterns, notification icon), it can turn on the screen, and it can also remind you in time increments.
If you decide to go this route, be sure to turn off your default messaging notifications, so you dont get double.

[Q] JellyBAM - any way to STOP the led option completely?

I just installed JellyBAM today and so far it's working great, but theres one 'feature' that I really don't prefer and I can't seem to figure out how to stop it. As we all know the AT&T GNote 1 was released without a notification LED. JellyBAM has a feature that makes the buttons at the bottom of the phone blink every so often when you get an email, text, etc. I've gone into the LED section of the settings and tried setting the On, and Off settings to OFF and I still get a blink from time to time. I don't want this. I tend to get a lot of email at night, and I don't want my phone's buttons blinking on and off all night.
Is there any way to just disable this completely? Thanks for any help.

You might want to take your question to the jellybam forum as that rom is not supported on xda

[Q] Vibrate problem

Hello everyone at XDA
Got this problem with CM9, didn't really notice it the first week when i installed it but now it suddenly came to me that the vibrate function didn't work when i receive a text message.
This is some info:
Running the latest FXP216 (xperia sola)
Every tiny option that has vibrate in it's name is turned on.
The phone does vibrate if i have the "keyboard vibration" turned on so it's not a phone problem.
The messaging app itself is:
Notifcations on
vibrate: always
vibrate pattern: normal (no difference if i change to average or large)
The profile settings (from the notification bar) don't make a difference either (in vibration mode etc)
Reinstalled CM9 twice completely and wiped phone clean, no difference.
Spend 3 hours today googling for options but no luck.
Don't mind using a third-party app (tried SMS Go but it doesn't vibrate either)
hopefully someone can help me to make it vibrate when receiving messages ;D
Thanks for all the helpfull threads so far.

FIX: finally got it to work after even more googling.
Sound Manager V2 has a vibration option which can be set to always (at ringer sound)
This solved my problem, hopefully people who have this problem can find this helpfull

[Q] Stock 4.3 Text Alert Vibration

Hello
Now my phone is working again properly after the stability update I still have one nagging little issue.
Is there any way to make the vibration for text alert longer like it used to be before in 4.1.2.
I now only get two little vibrates and they are easily missed if in the pocket. Before it used to give a long single vibrate.
I have tried all the settings I can think of and find but cant seem to change this ?
Thanks

[Q] Lollipop notification bar issue

Just got 5.0 yesterday and immediately became frustrated with what appears to be a step backwards.
When my phone is sitting idle and the screen is off, I used to see just a blinking LED letting me know that I have a text or an email or voicemail waiting.
After this update, I still got the green LED blinking, but when I "woke" the phone up (pressing the power button to light up the lock screen) there was a list of notifications with brief descriptions of what was in the waiting notification.
I purposely shut that off before since I don't like just anyone waking up my phone and seeing my waiting texts messages.
Easy enough, I thought. I just went to the lock screen notification setting and switched the "when device is locked" setting from "show all notification content" to "Don't show notifications at all".
Problem with this is that kills ALL notifications, including the blinking LED!
I liked being able to wake up the phone, swipe down, and see if it's a text or an email waiting by looking at the top bar. Then I could decide whether or not to unlock the phone and check further.
Seems there should be more options than the "all or nothing" approach here.
First day, I know, but I wanted to get this out there for others to find, if there is a solution.
Thanks!
