Installed the latest OTA update last night.
Prior to update, Wi-Fi tether beta 6 was working perfectly. Re-rooted this morning, but tether causes stock wifi tether to turn on and get fail message because I am not paying for access.
any ideas? Anyone else having this issue?
I have rebooted, reinstalled tether beta 6, and uninstalled tether THEN reinstalled.

I'm having the same problem. When I use the same settings as before, Samsung Galaxy S and Master, it says the wifi is working but none of my devices show the actual network when I scan Wifi networks.

Currently running Super Clean 2.8 and wireless tether does not work. Is there a working combo that will work? Some one suggested this but it did not work either. http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...ame=wireless_tether_2_0_7.apk&can=2&q=Generic
I just tested this (android wifi tether) on SC2.8 and it works fine. I think even the 3G Mobile Hotspot is supposed to work.
At what point does it fail?
Every device I have attempted to connect fails to see the device in the list of wifi connections. I've tryed with no security or encryption but my phone still doesn't show up in the list wifi connections.
Hello everyone Noobie here. First off, both phone and tab are rooted. I have been using the tether wifi 3.1 beta 2 for tethering and everything worked great. I recently updated the the tablet using the update on the tablet and I am still able to connect to the phone via wifi, but no 3G data as of now. Anyone??
FYI
I use Barnacle to wifi and tether to the lap top which is ad-hoc with no problem. Bueller??
Bueller???
I was using barnacle wifi tether just fine before the update. now, post OTA update, and re-root, barnacle doesn't work.
It doesn't complain that it can't work. It just doesn't show any wireless available like it used to. Even trying to connect to a hidden hotspot doesn't work.
I've spent a while this evening googling and searching here, but I've not turned up anything.
I've also tried android-wifi-tether. same symptom. looks like it's working, no SSID broadcast, no hidden hotspot connection.

Have you tried reinstalling it, or PDAnet from market. That's a nice tethering app too.
I used FoxFi and PDANet+ to get wifi tether any chance there is another wifi app I can get that will let me share my 4G LTE through wifi?
Yea I used WiFi Tether for root users and worked great. You can even set a password. Why not use your system tether though/

WiFi Tether not working
I have used the wifi tether for some time on my rooted devices. With the last update that pushed out by Verizon, I am now getting the message "your carrier has blocked wifi tethering with version 4.1". Does someone have a work around they can share?
I'm having an issue with Wifi Tether Treve Mod running rooted stock. Everytime I load up Wifi Tether and attempt to connect my Xbox 360 to it I get an IP Address error. On the Wifi Tether end I am not getting the prompt asking to allow access, and I have enable access control box checked. I tried for 10 hours last night, trying every combination I could think of and none of them worked. Can anyone help me with this or know what could be causing it? Thanks in advance!
